The reason I believe they didn't get the deal with mark is it seems they lacked the expertise needed for the marketing field. It doesn’t shrink or fade. Also, no one is a ketchup spilled unless you’re a toddler . Shxt happens ! With this material it prevents all those main concerns!
I feel they were to focused on the product itself and didn't focus enough on how to scale the business, cut costs , and increase revenue. Ultimately that's what you're pitching to investors and I feel like that's what Mark Cuban was trying to get out of them. When you create a product like the shirt you know it's great and let the product sell itself, explain a few key features, the innovation of it, and move on to how your going to get it in everyone's closet by the end of the next 2 years. The sharks know it's an investment everyone is seeking and I always feel it's in the business side and numbers where people fall short.
Literally just needed to say how they get customer's attention, how they manage that relationship digitally, what digital marketing tools they use to convert to sale, how they nurture repeat sales. All they said was we use Facebook ads and sometimes Instagram. When a customer clicks do they buy from a landing page? Do they go to their website or amazon or shopify store? Do they follow up via email? Do they use fb data to re target ads for follow up sales... Also, how durable is the stain repellant treatment? Can you wash with any detergent? Is there anything you can't wash with... Probably lots of this needs better communication to convert more sales
This sounds like a pretty cool idea. My polo shirt collars are not staying up, the microfiber "tag", and the stain resistant cloth are all pretty cool.

It wouldn't have mattered. They had too much going against them. - Living in an expensive city with no other income - Inexperienced in the digital space - Not enough sales/valuation doesn't match their sales. - An expensive product where the main feature isn't patentable.
@Samarth Kumar I know, the look on his face, the guy was speechless! O'Leary definitely gottem. That's what made it funny. The sharks can be ruthless. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm actually annoyed that none of the sharks, especially daymond, called bs on their collar stays. Other companies have already been doing that for years....
No one wanted to call them out on the “patented process” because they do the same thing. They don’t own the chemicals they just own how they are applied to the shirt, any company can make the tiniest change and now the have their own process.

For the old timers, they've been around even longer, Scotchgard.
Thanks for sharing this info, there is always something new to learn
@@Me4king Scotchgard is REALLY bad for the environment.
Stuff that is a forever chemical we are only just becoming aware of. Plastics, coating, nano tubes, micro pellets. It's in everyone's body now.
@@holdenwinters68 Yep, just like what William said below. Unfortunately it's everywhere in basically anything that's been designed to be waterproof or nonstick.
“Name it something that’s easy to pronounce.” That’s a wild statement to make.
Cool concept. Not certain who their target market is at a $98 price point. I would certainly buy it if it were half the price just to try it out.
Half is over 45 bucks. For a polo shirt. They'd need to get down to 30..thats absurd
I love polo shirts, I buy Hugo Boss polo shirts that run around the same price (if not more) and they are basic polos. These polos are badass, the only thing I don't like is the brand. But it literally is the perfect polo.
I see that shirt doing great in country club golf shops.
@@noelr1010 Name of the brand is not such a big issue. most brands got names in other languages that are difficult to pronounce.
Yes like 49.99 is more reasonable
They should focus on fast food workers and companies like that etc. they would love to get uniforms like this for the workers
There is no way in hell any fast food company would give their workers $98 shirts, nor should they.
It's not the shirt they need, it's the shirt they deserve
Why would any fast food corporation buy premium uniforms for expendable minimum wage employees that are in an industry of high turn-over rates. If you aren't a high class restaurant, you'll go out of business for being stupid and buying these products. Besides, corporations don't care at all about their employees so pitching this stuff to them would NEVER work.
@@xlncy No it’s not, because cheap shirts work perfectly fine for fast food jobs.
@@arcanaz6583 People on social media love to overvalue the work done by fast food workers. It’s the easiest job there is, albeit boring. I’ve done it before. Most people leave when they start getting bored of it. Not in any realm would any fast food worker ever deserve a $98 shirt; that’s not because they’re not good enough for it, just because their work isn’t that important.
😂 he said let’s start with something someone can pronounce… sir all these major designer names nobody can correctly pronounce 😂
The fact they talk over one another while trying to pitch the sharks turned them all away
I love when they all talk at the same time. So much content at once! Amazing!
It’s cool how Daymond and Mark react with positive body language when these two decent looking young men walk up. First impression goes a long way.
The guy in the white shirt really needed to SHUT UP so his partner could talk.
All he has to do was this one bit and he failed 😅
I have to wear polos for work every day. I will for sure check out this product. For me it’ll come down to how comfortable it is and if the collar stays down with minimal effort lol
100 dollars for polo shirt.. think again... comparing to 5 dollars cheap polo shirt
I checked you can get anti stain polos for much cheaper too from China,,, like 10 bucks 🥴

Usually/almost always, the title for these Shark Tank videos are summarize the highlights or most surprising/pleasing things that happen through the video duration to get viewers to watch them, so when I saw the title of this was just the Sharks being amazed by the product demo and not anything similar to the sharks clamoring to offer deals, I knew it was improbable that they actually got a deal because the only calm and pleasing thing throughout this video was when the Sharks liked the demo+
The reason I believe they didn't get the deal with mark is it seems they lacked the expertise needed for the marketing field. I would have thought selling the patent for their technology would have made much more than the clothing company itself. I'm sure any of the sharks would have bid on on the patent.
It's not even their technology, though. Just they put it on a shirt and tried to sell it.
@@cakecheese2895 ? That's literally what I said. They are trying to sell a clothing brand. Not the technology itself.
@@LordErebus no you didn’t, you said they can patent, which they can’t…
@@erroneouse1929 Are you stupid? You can sell a patent. They should have sold the right for other people to use their technology.

Lol, i bought my shirt from zara back in 2017 even that shirt had flat collar thing so not new...
These are in every dress shirt i ever bought. Nothing proprietary about it.
Exactly, how could they be getting a patent on that?
i like how damon looks when they walk in. i kinda picture him being like "ahh yes some fellow fashionable black gentlemen, welcome"

4:48 Smooth way to ask the question so that he can do it himself with his other already owned company.
Mark: I'm a tech guy. Hit me with the details.
Co-founder: I'm gonna give you a response so vague even my non-tech grandma wouldn't buy.
"I'm still trying to process how we didn't get a deal" bruh Mark literally explained it to you like he would explain it to a toddler
This sounds like a pretty cool idea. My polo shirt collars are not staying up, the microfiber "tag", and the stain resistant cloth are all pretty cool.

6:17
He got cut off so many times
Congrats they will still make it after being on this show. What a win win
The bottom line was Mark wanted to know who they were going to target. If they could've said "we started targeting X by doing Y and it's resulted in Z", he would have made an offer.
If only they stopped talking over each other, maybe they would've conveyed what they want much better.
It wouldn't have mattered. They had too much going against them.
- Living in an expensive city with no other income
- Inexperienced in the digital space
- Not enough sales/valuation doesn't match their sales.
- An expensive product where the main feature isn't patentable.
*I Love How The Black T-Shirt Guy Is Trying To Talk While The Other Intervene*
Those shirts look phenomenal, and the guys look genuine. I love it. I'm going to see if they are available to buy online yet.

How is this going so far
Your average consumer is not going to pay $98 for a polo shirt.
The average consumer doesn’t have even 500 dollars in savings. They shouldn’t be buying iPhones, however they do
@@your_-_momwell does the shirt play music and take pictures? 🙃
85k in sales does not equal a 1.5 million dollar company. Thats how you didn't get a deal and what you have to process.

Everyone wanting an update: They are currently doing $1 million in annual revenue
Hasn't it been like 3 years.
What I personally think they failed at is showing off a simple Polo shirt. They should have applied it to other forms of clothing to show off as well.
That name is not good 🤣
I think they were going more of the business side instead of casual to gain more attention. Usually people making that type of money prob not drinking coffee in a t shirt, they're more in a polo type shirt or suit or button down and tie. Imo
I'm actually annoyed that none of the sharks, especially daymond, called bs on their collar stays. Other companies have already been doing that for years....
This is literally one of the best inventions I've seen
No one wanted to call them out on the “patented process” because they do the same thing. They don’t own the chemicals they just own how they are applied to the shirt, any company can make the tiniest change and now the have their own process.
