I fell in love with this song when I saw it in The Crow: City of Angels.
Same here... that made me automatically go to the music store the next day, where I ended up buying Title of Record. Big fan since...
Same here.
Same here cheers 🍻
I remember the song way more than I remember the movie
The drums on this song are insane.
The bass during the chorus too in my car 😱
Taking pride in the old school. Glad to grow up in that era. This shit rocks.
Leaving Nine Inch Nails was good for Richard he really grew as an artist over the years. It's good to see him and Trent getting along again and doing gigs together he really brings that early element of Nine Inch Nails back great artist.
Such a great era for music.
The turn of the millenium... Now everybody is too conservative.
@@anselmoufc are you serious? Everyone is a whiney liberal now.
Know this music
yes!! I'm lucky to have been a teen in the 90s rocking out to this!!!... and today!!
Won't ever be matched sadly
The bass tone is absolutely dirty in this one, can’t get enough
After 24 years, I suddenly realised that this song have an official video. Wow!!!
The only good thing I got in year 2020.
I'm 6 months later than you... and the worst it is the first Filter song I listened, because someone offered me The Crow City of Angels soundtrack...
If MTV was actually worth a damn since the early 90's, I probably would have known. Had no clue myself.
Me too! Didn't know it has it's own official video.
haha same!
@@lizzgrim The magic of TH-cam... it's a nice video right?
This song makes me wanna gear up as The Crow.
This will always be the true Filter to me.
Filter is one of the best bands ever!
After all these years I still live this song.
This one song touches on so many issues that not many band's can't even reach on entire album.
Richard Patrick wriggling like a fish is favorite part. First Filter song I heard when I was 11 when MTV was the shit.
the drums on this is just freaking awesom!!!
This song is off the hook. Amazing stuff Richard a masterpiece. Love the part where Richard screams.
I knew this kind of music was made for my soul when i saw the crow 2 in the 90s i was in third grade but something inside of me woke up and i fell in love
I always think this song is slightly above average at best, and then the guitar comes in on the 2nd verse, and I realize this is probably Filter's best song.
I miss old school Filter. The new Filter sounds so packaged and in-genuine. I miss the rawness and the true Industrial heaviness from the old school Filter.
I totally get that. Seems to happen with our favorite bands as time goes by. Idk if they try to keep up with the times but I miss that aggressive 90s sound from quite a few bands
This song came out in "the crow: city of angels" soundtrack!🤘
Always thought the kick drum in this was sick.
A brilliant song from an underrated band and film alike. Now can we please get that extended cut of the movie, Mirimax, and allow more ears to experience this terrific soundtrack?
my GEN X music still rocks today
I've always thought this was one of the hardest songs ever, that was still able to get decent airplay from the Radio.
I love Filter since the 90s.
he killed this
Amazing song, power & emotion together, Patrick and co. are still great! Time's changin'...
Love this in the crow city of angels
I forgot about this song. Its been years. This is badass!!
Love those drums!
Lyrics :
Hey old man got something for you
change your mind gonna' make you take it
your mistake is something you own
I'm the one who's gonna' take it
Hey old man got something for you
hey old man got a real good tip
something's wrong and you don't know it
when will you learn
I'm not your boy
you don't look back
why do I pick up your slack
thats just fine just leave it like that
bust your wallet while I break my back
save your life with your life support
you know me I'll pick up that
Hey old man got something for you
hey old man got a real good tip
something's wrong and I guess you called it
thanks alot because now I own it
when will you learn I'm not your boy
you don't look back
why do I pick up your slack
when will you learn
I'm not your boy
you don't look back
why do I pick up your slack
Will she pay my debts
got your picture in my hands
god you are so truly old
thanks alot my future is sold
when will you learn I'm not your boy
when will you learn I'm not your boy
hey old man got something for you
hey old man got it real good tip
hey old man got something for you
hey old man got it real good tip
Damn, thought I knew all their stuff, came across this treasure. Filter, enough said.
I just found this too after thinking I've heard most of it, this is on their better side of material for sure
What an absolute banger of a song,!!!
He's actually talking about his dad... which is a main reason I can love/relate to this song, lol. Richard never had a good relationship with him...
Who else got here via the Crow 2 soundtrack?
+Jess Gillis i got here cos i love Filter :P
meeeeee
+Jess Gillis The same..., the song is amazing!
me
I got here after hearing their first song on the radio in the early 90's.
Short Bus is a classic album from front to back. There is maybe one or two ok songs on it. Dose is the best underrated song of the 90's. Check that one out on youtube.
My favorite Filter track!!
i always liked Filter..just a few songs or so..i saw them going on 2 years ago...my sister gave me their "title of record" cd and now i need more!
Their first 3 records are monster. Later stuff started to get soft.
my favorite Filter tune!! :)
wish they still sounded like this........ :( Love this song :)
At least there are still bands out there that sound like this :)
Such a great song.
Last of the Liesgang contributions to filter and it shows. Band was never the same after they parted ways.
One of the last, maybe? I thought his last work with Filter was "(Can't You) Trip Like I Do" from Spawn soundtrack where he appeared in its music video.
cool song & equally cool video
all the hallmarks of the 90's: vivid colors, choppy slow mo (when band members are walking), abandoned buildings, weird dudes in suits, rolling around on dirt\the ground, candles everywhere, actually playing instruments, artsy camera angles
Accurate
Leave the color in
Does anybody listen to music on an actual home stereo anymore? If you do you will understand that this song has the deepest bass drop in music history. It’s so fucking deep you can’t even hear it during the chorus. Excellent song off of the Crow: City of Angles soundtrack.
Great memories with this blasting driving to school
I FIRST SAW THIS BEFORE SCHOOL ONE DAY WHEN I WAS KNEE HIGH TO A GRASSHOPPER!
The person I saw it with kept asking why they didn't show bands in videos anymore....I said there they are right there!!!!
hands down the best song from filter, blows everything away on short bus.
They are actually good live. Saw them back in 2012 and they were a blast.
this video (and song especially) is so awesome
What does Jurassitol even mean? It sounds like medication for dinosaurs
LMFAOOOOO that's awesome
Don't wanna deal with Jurassitol? Just a hunch. They are tricky with their songs at times. Dose is by far one of their best songs and it is about people forcing religion on others. Still trying to figure out where dose comes into play.
It means rejecting religion
Y o u b e t j u r a s s i c d o e s .
This song seems to deal with that stage in your life when you hate your parents and all people older than you. The Jurassitol song title is a combination of Geritol and Jurassic, and is consistent with the anti-old people message of the song. Having to inherit the mistakes of the older generation, and having to pick up their slack. How they get rich while the younger generation has to work. The concept of the song is based on the idea of "the young man taking a step back while the old man walks by."
I love every the crow movies and soundtrucks and that is one of my faworites ... just perfect ;)
This is an awesome song to get drunk with
Oh Yeah!
And that's what I'm doing right now
That's why I'm here
Wow. I wrote this comment 3 years ago. And you know what? Nothing has changed
This song and this movie soundtrack were far more memorable than the movie itself, but still given the fact that the first movie's soundtrack is arguably the best movie soundtrack of the 90s, this one still gets overlooked which is a shame
Lange nicht mehr gesehen gehabt das Video von Filter
Such a fitting tune for the times rn... 👀
i first heard this in the crow 2 movie i saw in the 90s
Me too. I loved it. It went really good with the scene in the movie.
Nino Falletta... there is very little good about that movie. The music, production design, that is about all. It's eye candy. No speaking part in the movie is tolerable.
reminds me a lot of their song "Hey, Man! Nice shot!" BOTH AWESOME!!
Back when music videos were weird, and fucking awesome
Yea, this was Filter! I haven’t really clicked with their later material but this song will forever be burned in there
This was peak Filter
amazing song!!
❤ yepper/ always had the great hard rock//Filter is Fantastic 4ever😊😊
One of the sickest riffs in the business. Always
Perfeito Perfeito!!!
Hey yo man this needs more views! "I KNOW IT'S OLD"
That chromatic ascending riff is pretty badass tho....
Thank you for upload!
Love this song!
love this song!
Such a tune 👌
This one up is there with 'Hey man nice shot' 'Take a picture' is very pretty and different to their usual stuff . And I just remembered they covered 'One is the Loneliest Number'. They're better than I remembered but they did start to sound very generic towards the end of the 90s
I don't need to come on here and say how hard this shit goes 24 years later but I am.
Masterpiece! Classic homage (at the time) to the early 90s, in a market gap before everything had to be oh so polished. I would put Smashing Pumpkin's Gish in this market.
The lyrics are more topical than ever
I met Richard Patrick at the family values tour. Very very intelligent.
2:52 🤘
When is he paying *my* rent?
Got your picture in my hands,
God, you are so truly old,
Thanks a lot, my future is sold,
Lose!
@tyler g - Basically the older generation, that was supposed to protect the younger generation, was selfish and sold the futures of the young to promote their own greed
Grew up with them on the West side of Cleveland!
Checked this out because Filter played at Soundwave 2014 in Australia. I completely forgot Filter were on the soundtrack for The Crow: City of Angels and now find out there was even a music video!
Amazing video
Jus watched city of angels.. I love this
Wow This stuff helps me when I feel depressed.
I miss this Filter. Too soft now.
Your only young and full of testosterone once plus you can't do drugs like when your young either. Almost all bands get softer as they age. Doesn't mean worse just different. Well you know your probably old by now.
@@dnaglitchgaming6565 Most bands have a true shelf life of ~10-15 years. Anything after that usually just sounds stale.
The last their album is not soft. Not even close.
Kevin Rogers I said this 7 yrs ago.
@@Humanipathic didn't expected your answer, bro :))
Please take us all back to 1996.
The 90 s kicked a!!
Brilliant
Such powerful drive into inside!
Omg!! I finally found this song!!
They actually played this video on MTV before...blows my mind!!
When? Back in the day? Late 90s early 2000s?
JEFFYjackass Late 90s....MTV turned to shit by 2000
Sometimes they're so so ok. but I hear ya. Good ole days man =)
They played it more on MTV2, that was a much better channel than the main station
Ye I remember when MTV actually played music videos.
Forever reminded of the X-Files cuz filter was the musical background.
who's here from the extra music videos on their crow vhs?
this guy lol
The lead singer of Filter helped Trent Reznor start Nine inch Nails. They are good friends.
He's also the younger brother of Robert Patrick (the T-1000 in Terminator 2) lol
Rly? The circle closes here...
Yeah, RP was the live guitarist from 1989-1993, his biggest contribution was in Pretty Hate Machine
He wasn’t involved in making of PHM. He was hired to tour it. His biggest efforts was forcing Trent to use more guitar on Broken.
He played the "drone guitars" on Santified actually
Best song they've made imo
Contents remind me of something I'd write working in a warehouse.... Co-workers interaction with one another... Somebody thinks seniority rules and cons the new fresh workers into picking up more of the work while stealing credit and diffusion of responsibility....
Still a great song!
Temazo!
ALL music is good 👍
In another 5 years I would bet that I have least one thumbs up on that one
"Thanks alot coz now I own it."
Just as true 26 years later.
Kept humming the vocal melody...
i find richard so oddly attractive in this video. i think it's the suit.
7 years late but ayo
@@aidenmaves5537 hey there. wow, do NOT remember writing this. what a flashback to a younger time!
@@ticklemeepickle123 is that an old account ? If it is just shows how cool the digital footprint is. That comment will probaby be here when its the day your on the death bed
@@aidenmaves5537 the account with the 7 year old comment is an old one i no longer use, this is my current one :) sometimes i get a notification of a reply to an old comment ive no memory of writing! ahah that is very true, and kind of weird to think about
@@ticklemeepickle123 time flies
Grandeee..filtro
and yet their "new" new Album looks like a return to this sound.
The original lineup is the best.
