Twenty years old when this came out in 1995. Was in a dark club somewhere in Houston at 3am and the DJ had been playing club crap all night. The lights went out, everyone got real quiet and then that menacing bass line began. It was mind-blowingly amazing to hear this track for the first time in a dark room purpose-built built for walls of sound.

Move to South Texas. This and all the rest of the 90s favorites are still current and on rotation on the ONE rock radio station here. In fact most people wish they would play something a little less than 30 yrs old. If you dont believe me, listen to 99.5 KISS out of San Antonio. I think they still live stream. I stopped listening to the radio 20 yrs ago.
@@armelind EX FM DJ here from North Carolina. Radio is dead as a doornail now, no doubt, but there are still a small handful of great stations to be heard. I did a New Wave and Punk show on weekends from 1979 to 1983 and it was a blast. Nothing will ever be that good again.
Hip hop music is ruining this country and as the song hey ho by hinder goes “ain’t nothing little about rock n roll”
@@Based_normie Hip hop isn't ruining jack. Something like (bad) hip hop, pop, pop rock was always going to become mainstream whichever way you look at it. Budd Dwyer
Especially considering the fact that the other guy that was convicted admitted to framing him to get a lighter sentence. Dwyer was innocent.
R.I.P. Bud Dwyer, inspiration for this song.
Why does this song never make lists of best 90's songs?
Too spooky
BEcause it is gloating about someone's suicide.
Because idiots. Look at it this way, the less recognition it gets, the less daft copycats and dickheads getting into it.
It also made a comeback a few years ago on the radio. Sometimes I forget that it is a 90's song until I see it on a list.

Joey, Debra is tongue-in-cheek challenging you. This is our only life. It's up to you.....or will it all be for (Mc)Naught. Debra if you're there, I could use some loving motivation too.
Rob M: Moaning about lost youth in more than small doses disables your future. You can't go home again and you can never go back. Good music remains timeless; listen to it with all the joie de vivre you can muster, but if your glass is only half full then get a different glass ... or are you having me on, too? (So few catch the naught; kudos)
Debra McNaught Debra, my situation is a bit different. I in fact can go home, I just can't get out. I had to move home to be my parents' caregiver in 2o12. I lost my best friend to cancer in 2014, and both parents in the last year. I was single by choice for years, and am not promiscuous, it was just a life choice. I've tried so hard to meet someone lately as I'm growing "old" at only 47 and have lost so many I love that I don't want to be without love, myself, forever. I need to sell this childhood home of mine and get out of here. I need to meet the woman I'm meant to be with, if she's out there. But I've become too emotional, and that was never my province. It seems all I do is cry lately. Debra is like, "Damn, dude, be a freaking man already." As the imbeciles say on those talk radio shows...."I'll hang up and listen to your answer."

@@jonnyk9496 i’m going to listen to it in deep southern speech timing .. But fun fact they did do this vid in separarte buildings and one was in a school in various locations ( it was summer or holiday break and somebody had been given the keys to use it for experimenting with sounds in different environments.. while the others were maybe a block or more away but didn’t know where the “ screamers” location was.. you mentioning high school helped that memory surface ..
Qué pedazo de tema de Filter, me trae buenos recuerdos de mediados de los 90, la mejor época del rock. Tenía que esperar hasta tarde en la noche para ver éste semejante video.
this SONG AND SOUND GOES THRU MY VEINS ! LOVE FILTER ! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM LIVE IN ADELAIDE 9 APRIL 2024 ! 👌👌❤❤💕💕👑👑👑👑👑👑
We definitely need more rock songs like this! Love you Filter!

I swear I have seen you in another comment section.
I remember hearing this song during an episode of "The X-Files". It made my hairs stand on end. The X-Files episode was pretty good, but the this song played at the appropriate moment near the end made that episode soo much better. Whoever was in charge of that, kudos to you!
I remember that episode well. The song was perfectly paired to it.
@@rhpratt3 Agreed! Season 4's "D.P.O." I believe it was called... you know, for the record.
DPO! Yep it was a great episode featuring Jack Black and Giovanni Ribisi. DPO had the ability to control lightning and electrical devices with his mind.
@@williammatthews693 It was season 3 episode 3 ;)
Regular Show
Late night, late darkness, polluting my head with new and different sounds. Let the dreams begin
its 7/30/23 here and its badass as always.......Hey Man !!
I was obsessed with Filter along with Faith No More and a bunch of other 90's hard rock bands growing up, and still am. Filter's music just has the perfect heaviness along with Richard Patrick's voice (the way he screams is amazing) and it creates some of the best music I've ever heard even today. Hell, I still find myself air drumming the intro to this song
Your forgetting Helmet ')
FNM, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden are/were definitely superior, but Filter, and to a lesser extent Stabbing Westward, definitely did not get enough love.
2020, locked down and introducing my kids to this. Still bangs!
Man..that's outstanding Mr.Gordon.
Fucking rad dude
your a good dad
Smiled!!! Bet your kids are as cool as their dad!!
Ron Gordon they don’t know about that 🔥🔥🔥
Hands down Filter's best song.
