#TheCrow
Bill Skarsgård takes on the iconic role of THE CROW in this modern reimagining of the original graphic novel by James O’Barr.
Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
In the original, Eric looks like he plays guitar for Nine Inch Nails. In the reboot, Eric looks like he raps on SoundCloud.
Now that's a good Hangman's Joke.
Unfortunately, time has changed and also the music taste of the Mass.
Think, what was popular back then, and what is a dead genre now.

Facts!!!!
The look of The Crow (1994) starring Brandon Lee first inspired one of pro wrestling's biggest icons Sting and took his career to the top. Then it inspired the look for Heath Ledger's Joker in the Dark Knight and every Joker after that. In fact the famous Joker mob scene from the Dark Knight was inspired by a scene in Brandon Lee's Crow. Unfortunately the 1994 movie was very low budget and didn't find mainstream viewership. However it's legacy is incredible.
Very Low budget, the terrible accident that took Brandon's life when they were not done filming, and it's still an amazing movie. This looks just bad on its own, compared to the original it looks even worse, and knowing what the original went through, this is just crap
I think the budget was only 25m dollars.
I'm a die hard fan of the original, but definitely interested in how this turns out. No one will EVER compare to Brandon Lee. Hopefully they've dedicated this to his memory and in remembrance of his unnecessary death. Rest sweetly, Brandon. ❤
Why does the Crow look like Machine Gun Kelly dressed up like Florida Joker? 😂
Don't diss MGK like that
now that you mentioned it hahaha.

Lazy director pandering to modern day kids that don’t give a sh!t about the crow. Only alienating those that do.

Nothing will ever beat Eric Draven's quote from 1994's The Crow: "They are all dead, they just don't know it yet".
There's so much memorable quotes from Brandon Lee's version like "It can't rain all the time" also the scene where Eric and Officer Darryl have that moment where he talks about what happened to him and Shelly only for Eric to say "Funny, little things used to mean so much to Shelly. I used to think they were kinda trivial. Believe me, nothing is trivial."
You can't get those soft touching moments without those characters and to slow the flow of the film down by making the movie trailer seem like an all around blood fest since there were moments where Eric would sit there thinking about all the good times with Shelly also him playing his guitar which that scene him on the roof of his apartment playing it busting loud on such a small roof top of his apartment building and smashing the guitar and amp. You can't get those moments by this modern adaptation.
@@davidmarrero9608 my favorites that I use whenever I can are "I knew I knew you. But you can't be you. We put you through the window, and there aint no coming back. This is the realy real world! There aint no coming back!" and "Mother is the name for god on the lips and hearts of all children" and also "Its pornography!"
Or this quite " Victims, aren't we all".
My person favorite is "I see you have made your decision, now let's see you enforce it"
@@joshuadunkley1 Especially him quoting Edgar Allen Poe in the pawn shop where he takes the shot gun and shoots the rings exploding it. There's so many memorable lines and scenes that this reboot I feel won't have the same emotional impact of affect like the original.
While the original wasn't "great" what made it good was how sincere Eric was when he talked to two people that were a part of his life to help sort what happened to him and Shelly and to get his revenge but also do it all for the love for her.
You honestly felt like he loved her without having to see every detail of their life just to little memory flashbacks through the movie Eric had. Sometimes less is more.
The reboot will show a long af explanation of their love life and everything boring that we don't really need to watch or see just show us the reasons why Eric loved her not the boring aspects where how they met this and that.
You know what? I like Bill Skarsgard.. I have faith he'll carry this siht. I don't agree with rebooting perfection.. but.. I'll give him a shot.
Same here, I think this could be decent enough to have fun with. The original will always be the best, but Bill Skarsgard, I think is careful with certain roles he portrays in.
I’m with you guys. I think it looks promising.
That's how I felt about him playing Pennywise. Like, who could stand up to Tim Curry? His performance didn't diminish the importance of the originals. He just made it his own.
Action wise from the trailer it looks awesome. It has that "If John Wick gets hit by bullets" vibe. Brandon Lee is exceptional no doubt, the following sequels however made it look like the Crow did all the work rather than the person. Skarsgard will make an awesome Crow.
Me too 🙏🏻
I'm 47 years old, and when I first watched 'The Crow' on its release day back in 1994, it left a lasting impact on me. The darkness of the film and the way each chord the protagonist, Eric Draven, struck on his guitar seemed to reflect his pain note by note, especially as he sought vengeance for the brutal murder of his girlfriend. Through Eric's journey, I witnessed the agony his girlfriend endured as his memories unfolded. With this new version of 'The Crow,' I approached it as a standalone entity, avoiding any comparisons to the original. Each rendition has its own merits, and I appreciate this new interpretation of what it brings to the table.
Then you took the wrong approach.
@@tristanmike Hey, Jackass, let people enjoy things.

In my opinion that's the healthiest way to approach a remake. It's another artists idea of how the story could be told. Just like a cover song, it's not supposed to be exactly the same, or even be as popular.

This feels kinda like some of The Crow sequels, I’ll give it a shot and see if it’s good. Bill is gonna probably carry this film
One of my favorite moments in the first movie was when Eric was talking to Sarah (the little girl), and she says to him "you never even said goodbye." And he says "You have to forgive me for that." Not even like "well I'm here now and we can talk!" He's speaking as someone who's life is over. He's ONLY there to do what the Crow returned him to do. Such a perfect little touch.
I love that scene too. Wonderfully written and beautifully acted.
"It can't rain all the time"
First time he gave her a clue that he was there was it can't rain all the time right after he saved her from getting run over by that car while on her skateboard. That scene got me a little bit. The fact that he came back from the dead saved her and dipped with just a little message was a great clip...there will never be another descent crow movie ever
Also, he didn't want to be doing what he was doing. He had to. And he wasn't just himself brought back. He is a shadow of who he was. He exists... But barely. It makes him otherworldly. And was in pain at existing when he didn't want to and wasn't supposed to. There is that scene where he is angry at remembering who he is. Brandon Lee played the pain, this seems to be going for intentional rage and like someone who wants revenge. Doesn't work...doesn't feel like a spirit if he's just going to become the punisher.
The absences of Sarah is felt immediately. Also if they were going to make Eric goofy looking they could have at least put the Skull Cowboy in the movie.
“It can’t rain all the time”
You’re right Brandon. Just like every other The Crow movies, this one will come and go. Yours is immortalized. RIP Brandon Lee.

YUP. They should, I'm there for it. The original.
I say let this movie be its on inspiration from the original. It’s definitely not trying to overthrow Brandon Lee matter of fact I think the trailer alone is reviving Brandon Lee cause now everyone is gonna go watch the original and the name of Brandon Lee is back out with the original movie again getting viewership.
However that being said this remake is nothing new because despite Brandon Lee’s accident happening they still went on to make sequels of The Crow. Bill Skarsgard looks pretty good in terms of preparing for the role and I’m sure went through so much training to prepare for the character & I have faith in Bill in this movie because he has yet to make a bad film.
Holy shit someone with a brain
They could have made a Crow movie without just rehashing Eric's story. There are multiple Crow comic series, Eric wasn't the only person granted the power. They even talk about how sometimes people come back, I think it would've been better received if they had just changed the names of the characters and made it about some one else.
If someone I loved said the first thing they liked about me was he thought I was brilliantly broken, I would offended.

Also I love the straight razor scene and the end scene in the graphic novel. Check out all the love a hammer and straight razor can do to someone. Yeah, no anger there.
The story is originally about love and LOSS and ANGER and dealing with all these normal emotions.

Loving all the "90's goth here" comments. The subculture we aligned with doesn't negate the importance of any other. Brandon Lee was incredible. That time has passed. I was 19 when The Crow came out and it was a favorite film of mine, but I also know that Bill is a tremendous actor. He may do something incredible with the role. It takes place in Detroit. That's where Devil's Night was created because every night before Halloween 🎃 they'd burn so many places in the city hence Devil's Night was born. They still do it here to Every Devil's Night but not like they did in the 90s, it was out of control back then when and before even the first film came out.
The soundtrack for the original Crow was banging as well. Idk man Brandon Lee's Crow feels like Ledger's Joker ya know?
Facts
Juaquin Phoenix was able to bring back The Joker after Jared Leto. I don't think the same can be said for this flaming garbage.

@@joshuaschwartfigure9342you’d need better writers and actors tbh
IMO, the Original Crow spawned multiple sequels, to me this is just another sequel.
Fan of the first but im stoked to see this to be honest needs to come out soon haven’t been this excited to see a remake since probably Batman
Unpopular opinion: I REALLY want to see this movie.
Same! Not sure if it's cuz I'm biased for B SK or that I was born in '86 and slightly out if the audience for the original. This looks good tho, especially based on what's been coming out lately 🤷♀️
Grew up with the original comic and film. I can't wait for this new version.
As much as I love me some Bill Skarsgård, this is one movie that didn't need to be remade.
It's not a Remake of the original film. It's a reimagining of the original Graphic Novel. Think how Spider-Man is constantly being adapted into different forms of media, but they're not remakes of one another
You preaching to the choir, ugh! With all the crappy sequels out there why didn't they just make up new characters? Brandon Lee is Eric Draven.
@@heatherlowe7330 because the crow and eric draven isnt brandon lee. just like clark kent and superman isnt christopher reeves.
@@punk-m Untrue. Brandon Lee was becoming literally Eric Draven - and the 94 original movie clearly shows. This became larger than life - a legend. Into the same way, noone, nobody else ever than Keanu Reeves could play John Wick, or Neo from the Matrix. Simple as that, end of story. Only kids say this who aren't old enough and didn't see The Crow in theaters in 1994 - talk is cheap.
/typo fix
@@punk-m Christopher Reeves may not be the only Superman, but he is forever Superman. There may be other crows but there is only one Eric Draven and that is Brandon Lee
Nobody will ever be able to play Eric Draven like Brandon Lee did.
No One! but you still have to allow actors to try because that is when you get legendery performances like Heath Ledger's Joker
The crow can be presented to anyone who goes through the right circumstances so different characters is an inevitable part of its story . I agree some reboots and remakes should be shot but this is one worth a chance and a budget because the crow grants the act of vengeance to the deserving and there are possibilities with this franchise
@batmanimal5993 looks like complete dog 💩this film should never have been touched period. Just money grabber.
В третьей части тоже норм чел
Haha nice
I am a fan of the skarsgårds. It is cool that Bill is killing it. He is really tall which makes him difficult to keep in frame for the DP. The studios are testing him with films like this to see if he can be a blockbuster actor. He has paid his dues in indie films and playing villains. As far as Scandinavian actors go, none of the Skarsgård's will ever be as great as Max von Sydow by themselves , but at least we get 4 Skarsgårds!
5 if you count Peter 😉
He is just 6 ,3. Many American actors are taller than him. U can relax and DP can relax. 😅
@@chillingshadow hehe. cool. vince vaughn is the tallest with a sag card at 6’5’’
Bill Skarsgård is a great actor. I’ve recently saw the original movie for the first time. It was good. I’m really excited to see this version.
So instead of the gothic iconography that made the original a cult hit - let’s just do John Wick with a sound cloud rapper aesthetic..?
Deadpool without the Humor
Right? I can't wait for this John Wick fad to pass.
I thought the same thing about the lighting and song choice. It’s so sad. This could’ve been so good.
They made zero attempt to give this film a dark or unique aesthetic. Like you stated it just looks like John Wick or any other modern film. Same exact color grading, everything too brightly lit.
Yep, the director of the movie said he wanted 19 year olds to relate to the movie because their version of The Crow was inspired by Lil Peep and Post Malone. Just another out of touch Hollywood director trying to change an already good film and book into their own “original” creation. Been done hundreds of times now, they never learn.
Shot like a Netflix film. Doesn't even come close to the dark grimy atmosphere Alex Proyas and crew created in the original.
Facts
Modern films are a disgrace
Better to be shot like a Netflix film than literally shot
It seems like every Hollywood movie just looks so lazy these days. They couldn’t even try to use different quality cameras to make the film have a style to it, much less make it black and white. Nothing. Even a child could make this movie look better
@@slippingjimmys true, but the first movie is shot better at least from what we see in the trailer
I get that everyone just has to dump on this and compare it to the 1994 movie, but it seems to me that this movie isn't trying at all to be a remake of that movie, it's just a different adaptation of the original comic. Like, no, not everything is going to be the same as either (don't see anyone commenting that the old movies were super different from the comic as well).
Idk. I like the actors, it looks like there's actually some artistry to the filmmaking, it doesn't look neutered in terms of how it depicts violence... in a world where most movies just want to be like Iron Man 7 or whatever, is this really what people want to get mad at? Without even having seen it?
I don’t know how I feel about this but I’ll always be a fan of the original it came out when I was just age be 2-3 and I did watch it and couldn’t for the life of me remember it until I was a teenager and fell in love with it all over again and till this day I watch the movie on my birthday. And while I read the script and it feels like I am watching it in my head
Watching this makes me appreciate the 1994 original film even more.
Makes you want a 4k full remaster from original footage from the original director and artistic lead with modern tech. Just to see what they could do. Although the spirit of the original with it's 90's feel will always be perfect
Yes...
Absolutely! The soundtrack of that movie is in another level
This just makes me want to rewatch the original for the 900th time honestly
yes
Tonyt ..it can't rain all the time..
My plan for this weekend
It’s on Amazon prime for free
So do it.
I must see this one !
Bill skarsgård will save The crow he's a talented top actor 🙌
This trailer is but a sample of what we need to see, a small taste of what is yet to come.
I have tasted this with my eyes and ears, and I wish to see the full banquet of the remake. If it can reach the lowest depths of my soul, then it becomes an equal to the success and legend that is Brandon Lee.
“Believe in angels.”
“True love never dies.”
May the Crow live on in our hearts and our imaginations.
The new omen movie had impossibly good acting for the trash script. You still won't go see it.
Yes ❤
What do you mean "save The Crow"? The Crow is an incredible movie, and I like Bill Skarsgård, but some things should just be left alone and this looks.... not good.
All this did was get me to appreciate the og crow even more.
This trailer made me want to rush back home and rewatch the original Crow film - the only one that matters.
they showed too much on this trailer. It doesn't even have the ambiance of the original
That was other movie. It's like comparing every girl you meet to you first girlfriend. That way you won't enjoy anything.
I've got it on Blu Ray. Go ahead, laugh.
@@martybalamb4174 People will always hate remakes, simply for it not being identical to the original. Especially for a cult classic like the crow. No matter how good this movie turns out. There will be people hating on it or even full on refusing to watch it for that reason.
My thoughts exactly. The wife hasn’t seen the crow yet and I haven’t watched it in awhile. We’ll watch the original and pass on this.
Well I want to watch it, not many people in the comments do though
This looks really good. The Crow (1994) is one of my all time favorites. Sure, this film has a different aesthetic, a different actor, slightly different story.. but im still excited to see it. Skarsgard is an amazing actor.
Come on this movie doesn't have the atmosphere of the 1994 movie, we just saw a John Wick with superpowers
My understanding is that it's not a remake of the original movie but instead an adaptation of the comics
@@halo25431 I don't want a remake, I'm fine with a new adaptation but I'm not happy with some things
@halo25431 it looks nothing like the comics. I dont know why people keep saying its trying to be accurate to the comics. The movie from 94 is more accurate compared to this dog crap

i think this is getting abit more hate than it deserves, i love the orginal, but this still looks good to me. but yeah the dude doesnt really look the part but other than that im excited for this
Another movie that absolutely did NOT need a remake.
Probably about the last movie that needed a remake. No one was begging for it. No one said "man, there was potential there, I hope someday someone else does The Crow right". No one. Not one. Some people will accept this, but I refuse to believe that anyone was asking for it.

Even Ernie Hudson aka Sgt Albrecht in 94 crow said he never watched any of the remakes. He said there’ll never be another Brandon Lee.
Only Ville Valo and Younger Johnny Depp can be perfect for that role
Yall it's finally explained with a bit of research. This version of the crow is based from the original eric Draven comics from the 1989 series before the story was changed for the movie. Which the only major differences was how they died and what he looked like
Serious DmC Ninja Theory vibes and I actually liked that game alot. So who knows... this could work
Someone probably already said this, but the original is also about grief and the fact that frequently no one can go back and fix the actual bad things that happen. Eric doesn’t get to stay alive and Shelly was still brutalized and killed. There’s no getting away from that, there’s just a chance kill the killers and possibly help some good people along the way. The plot of the reboot describes a chance to save Shelly. I don’t know how that’s going to play out, but if she is actually brought back from the dead to live out the rest of her life, then that completely misses the mark of a SIGNIFICANT part of the first film and James O’Barr’s whole point behind the original graphic novel!
Agreed as soon as I heard save her I'm like "they missed the point completely." Though the dude in the beginning looks like hes doing some satanic shit so maybe he takes Shelly's soul and he frees her possibly.
@@blazinpuffs According to the leaks that's what happens. Bad guy steals her soul and Eric is told in the Land of the Dead by the guy who is apparently this film's version of the Skull Cowboy that he is on a time limit to complete his mission that mission being avenge their murders, and free Shelly's soul so it can properly crossover to the afterlife before he returns to the Land of the Dead.
That's an aspect of the comics that all of the movies and the TV Show ignore is that whoever becomes The Crow will eventually have to return to the Land of the Dead so he or she is on a time limit to complete his or her mission of vengeance and justice before the inevitable return to the Land of the Dead.
Late to the party, but I noticed that too and interpreted it as him saving her life as well. I agree that it would defeat the purpose that was previously established and the ongoing theme of grieving a loved one and in the end becoming reunited in the afterlife. I guess we’ll have to find out🤔
My favorite part of the trailer is when the crow turns to the camera and says, "It's crowing time".
