I really like that you added explanations, like what you're doing to the handle and why. But am I the only one who thinks the colour didn't quite match? I can't imagine how difficult it must be to recreate the same exact colour of the bag, can't be easy
This colour(Etoupe) is a very multi tonal colour, the perfect mix between cool grey and a warm beige depending on the lighting, also the bag can fade to show varying levels of these shades through out when worn. When we select a colour match we select a colour knowing how this will dry, absorb and blend into the existing leather, any colourant also usually looks different, often lighter when wet. Our team are experts at blending all shades and signs of wear beautifully when carrying our our restorative treatments and as you can see the finished results are amazing.
You're correct. The color is too cool. It needs more red and less black. I'm an artist and do this all the time. I've developed the skill over a lifetime though.
Ugh, I love those scrub brush sounds 😌 I would literally watch and listen to a whole long video of your team just scrub brushing and spraying solution onto your clients' items, or slowly and carefully using that sewing machine we saw in another video
When we have a colour that we frequently see such as Hermes Orange, Mulberry English Oak or Saint Laurent Poudre/Powder we will usually have a base colour of this made up, however we always need to consider is that bags fade and wear differently depending what they have been exposed to or the issue itself. An the item that has been used for hours in the Sun compared to and item of the exact same colour (originally) that has has often been caught in the rain will fade and wear differently which is why most often we will carry out a new colour match. As you can see from this video we took a base colour close to Etoupe and added to this to reflect the wear on this item and the particular colour of the areas we would be working to so this would blend seamlessly. Colour Theory is part science and part artistic eye and our Artisans go through a in depth training programme on Colour Theory to learn the correct formulas and skills to carry out the perfect colour match. If we ever have a particularly difficult or unique colour we also have a Spectrophotometer which we use to gain a very close base colour, however due to the varying shades you can see on a worn handbag the Artisan's will always finish this off with eye detail and tweak to ensure it is perfect. . - Handbag Clinic
@@HandbagClinicOfficial I am wondering, what kind of colour do you use? I mean, what is it substance? Is it special colour for leather use? - sorry for being so unknowing 🙈 i am just curious and amazed by how you always find/mix the matching colour to the handbags!
Color of this handbag🧡 like a warm mushroom brown along with the execution is therapeutic for sure. Like, when you were a child and watched your parent do something w/ those delicately naive yet inquisitive eyes.
The color you mixed was a bit dark and more of a black undertone while the original color of the Birkin I believe is Etoupe which has a more brown olive undertone.
After mixing up the exact color in a small little pile on the palette, how do they then keep making the same exact color? Like even when airbrushing?Do they have to mix it again every time?
Why on Earth anyone would give an Hermes bag to a company other than Hermes to do a restoration is beyond me. They use the exact same materials to repair the bag that were used to make the bag. Bring that back in to Hermes after it has been with you guys and they'll refuse to even touch it.
Restoration can mean multiple things, a full colour restoration of the entire bag to remove all signs of wear, a restoration which also needs elements of more significant repairs such a stitch work, rips, tears or burns or a structural restoration, which can only be carried out on items which already have a structured shape. As per the caption, this client only wanted to have the most significant signs of wear on this bag restored which were the handles and the corners. It is all customer preference which is why we go through a detailed consultation with our clients suggesting all of the service available to them and together working out what is best for them and their much loved bag at that moment in time. Personally, structurally we feel this bag is still holding well and does not need such an invasive treatment as a full structure restoration quite yet, Handbag aftercare is about ongoing maintenance and at Handbag Clinic we know how to preserve items ensuring through the long life this prestigious bag it always looks it's best. - Handbag Clinic
This particular Birkin had been relatively well stored/looked after and the owner only requested minimal touch ups to the handles/corners. We work closely with our customers to provide a bespoke restoration that is tailored to their needs 👜
Hi DP, Leather is a skin meaning it will absorb odours such as perfume. We would recommend a clean, although this wont fully remove the perfume it will remove any excess and reduce the risk of staining, if this has caused staining this is something we can also rectify, please see the following link with some examples of our Hermes Exotic work www.handbagclinic.co.uk/hermes-gallery-i60. With any exotic it is always best to consult a professional like ourselves as especially with croc, if the wrong technique or product is used this can cause the skin to lose shine or damage the skin. - Handbag Clinic
I once received a second hand bag in the mail that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. I put it in a brown paper bag with balled up newspaper for about a week and it absorbed some of the smell. You could try that in the mean time.
Sprinkling some baking soda in it and letting it sit for awhile then vacuuming it or facing the opening towards a fan might help. I periodically wipe my bags out with a rag so that could help too.
I don’t understand they are expensive bags but the leather doesn’t last and have to have it fix in other places and pay extra instead of having their own Hermes fix shop. Sounds bogus 😂

Hermes is supposed to use only the best leathers in the world, this bag looks like the colour is only on the surface, that is hardly a good 'full flower' leather! At least it's not crocodile, I've seen the videos of the skin farms, some of the most horrific images I have even seen and I've seen quite a few!
Hey Runa! We explained in the caption that this particular Birkin had been reasonably well looked after. Thus, only required minimal work on its corner and handles 👜
Hey ✨ As we described in the caption, this particular Birkin had been reasonably well looked after and as a result, only required minimal maintenance on its handles and corners.
Our artisans are experts within their field and have refined their craft when it comes to colour matching ☺️ We sourced an internal un-contaminated area, that we used in order to colour match to the original shade; as external elements will be discoloured from sun exposure, contaminants, dirt and so on. ✨👜

The paint is wet. When dry, paint darkens.

therapeutic
Yes, exactly! ❤️

agree!
That was soothing to watch.😎 I’m a guy and I want that bag!😎
Paint dries darker - it won’t match the original color while it’s still wet. I wonder if they have color formulas on file.
I have to assume they’re using a social paint that maintains its color. Otherwise they’re taking a massive risk by doing this blindly.

This is why you should never spent $10,000 on a handbag !! But great job restoring the bag 👍
People have entire collections of these bags.
In the plate 2 of the pins came out. How is that repaired?

Hi there! Where is your base? I just want to re-paint my Hermés Evelyn bag! Is it possible thanks...
Hi, Our Clinic is in the UK however we accept bags from all over the world!
Do you restore Michael Kors handbags?
❤️
Where did you buy the color and the color name?
I love it but for the price of those bags in my opinion that wear would be unacceptable. That's just my opinion....🤷🏽♀️
What do you mean? This is a used bag, they’re repairing it. It’s not a new bag.

Some people just treat bags as bags 🤷♀️
Why didn’t the person just go to Hermes for a “bag spa”? The paint colour is off.
I thought the restoration also meant for the bag's form, the body still looks lumpy
