I'm overall glad with this minigame selection, though I do wish there were more than just TWO Mario Party 8 minigames. I personally wish there were 10 minigames from each installment, but I'm happy nonetheless.

Probably because Mario Party 8 is almost universally considered the worst one.
I feel like everyone doesn’t appreciate the 1 vs 3 mini games. Since they almost always have an inequality in status, they are quite thrilling. If you are on the team, it feels amazing to work together and take down the more powerful solo player. If the team is more powerful, then it feels funny to pick on the weaker solo player.
If you are the more powerful solo player, then you feel like some powerful dictator against everybody else.
Yeah I love 1v3 minigames. I prefer being the solo player that bullies the 3 team lol.

1v3s honestly never really feel truly balanced (I haven't played a lot of them but the ones I have aren't really) but I guess it's hard to actually make balanced 1v3s
It’s a lot easier to appreciate the mini games from 10 when they’re actually in a good game.

Rapid River Race has always been one of, if not my favorite minigame of all time and I’m so happy they brought it back.
I wish we got more from 10, we don't need 24 from 3 (just 10 from each game)

43: The sad thing about 43 is that the night time gimmick of the original wasn't kept. For those who never played Mario Party 6, "What Goes Up..." has that ellipsis for a reason. At night time, the other half of the phrase comes into play. Instead of a race to platform up the Koopas, you start 100 yards in the air, and must descend to the bottom as fast as possible.
Makes me wish I played more of six. I can't remember if I ever played that minigame or not.

I'm still annoyed that there aren't any DS minigames. I get that it wouldn't make sense due to the premise of DS, but some could definitely still work, like Cyber Scamper, Whomp-a-thon, Tidal Fools, Camera Shy or Boogie Beam

I recently learned that in Sneak n Snore, you go into the barrel faster if you aren't going full speed. Its a game of risk vs reward, and that makes it a lot more fun than I originally thought.
Also you can watch the chomps bubble and strategize based on that. The bubble pops only when its at max size. Meaning when its getting smaller or isnt at max size you can go full speed because it wont pop but once the bubble is growing and its almost at its max size you can slow down and hide in time if it pops.
I just plain hate sneak n snore, when I played it on the normal mode a.k.a party that mini game always ends with a tie
The game honestly is one of the best in years.
I do wish there were more boards from each game.
But hey.

If we get more boards from other games, I wonder what might be added. I'm nostalgic for most of the 7 boards and I remember really enjoying the Ghost board from 8.

Slot Car Derby is really frustrating in Superstars since there's no speedometer in practice only in the actual game. Really important because you don't want to go too fast and seeing how fast you can go before reaching max is very important.
So, there’s Red Light Green Light with Sneak n’ Score, Sugar Honeycombs with Crazy Cutters, Tug of War with Tug o’ War, and Glass Bridge kind of with Leaf Leap & What Goes Up. Now we just need Marbles and Squid Game.

I'm less surprised with the amount 8 and 10 got, and more with 9. In The Top 100, MP9 was one of the most fairly distributed titles, so it doesn't make much sense for it to be snubbed like it in Superstars, while 8 and 10 were already shamed early on
When playing online, bumber balloon cars doesn't typically last only 10 seconds for me. I usually get into games where everyone just messes around and just kinda sits there

25:33 If you you are tensing your arm against the button, that’s exactly how I do it. It’s hilarious when I do this minigame online, in practice mode I mash normally, but in the actual game, I do this mash method and just sweep everyone.
Sneak n' Score is a bit easier than you might think. The bubble only pops at certain times, when it's at its largest. So my strategy is, every time the bubble grows bigger, I slow down so I can get into my barrel faster. This usually works.
Also for Spotlight Swim against the CPUs, it's easier to just not dive under the water and just swim in circles on the surface. It takes too long to catch your breath for ducking under to help, at least for me.
For Slot Car Derby, the controls are pretty wonky, but spinning out is more likely when taking turns than straightaways, so be more cautious during turns.
For Sky Pilots, instead of simply flapping the wings, you can go a bit faster by flicking the analog stick up and down as fast as possible without doing the full flap.
Also, can someone explain why Booksquirm is so popular? I love the minigame and it's a blast, but I just don't see why it's number one on everyone's lists. I personally prefer Mushroom Mix-Up and Dinger Derby over Booksquirm.

Also, the reason that minigame is now called "Tread Carefully" is probably because of the negative connotations behind the term "shell shock".

I wish they would have added Minigames from Mario Party DS. It's so understated but in my opinion the best Mario Party Game. Especially because it almost has only good Minigames. The selection there is phenomenal :3

With Sneak and Snore, the faster you move the longer it takes to stop and get in the barrel. If you only push forward slightly it's a lot easier to get in the barrel.
I think they changed the name of "Shell Shocked" because it's sort of an older name for PTSD coined around WW1. Maybe they thought people wouldn't be okay with the name anymore.
The volleyball game is actually so good. It’s super in-depth and actually amazing. The soccer and hockey are also good as well.

Rapid River Race would be a perfect mini game if you could move with the dpad as well as joystick or just one or the other

Pokey Pummel too. Nathaniel has to be lying with that "strategy" of his, I have ADHD and I can't shake my arm/hand that fast. Only a Tool Assisted Speedrun could beat this waste of a minigame AND beat the CPU.

I'd say they changed that minigame from Shell Shock to Tread Carefully because, if you think about what shell shock actually is, the name could easily be seen as being in poor taste, and Nintendo wanted to play it safe.

If DLC gets added and minigames are part of it, I'd love for it to go in one of two directions: getting some DS and 3DS minigames, and more from the console games that only have one or two, or getting more N64 minigames along with a minigame pack option to opt specifically for just ones from a specific game (which only makes sense if there are enough for each of the first three).

The golf minigame is fun but its RNG on turn order, if you go last you have the advantage of knowing everyone else's angels and power
The supposed sequel to The Top 100 really did give us lots of minigames, ranging from great to excellent. I'm really glad that they made an awesome Mario Party compilation with lots of nostalgia from the very first Mario Parties. I really hope there will be new minigames added to the game in the future.
It's really unfortunate that it's no longer on TH-cam. I remember you and two of your friends did a playthrough of Mario Party 4. And I remember Carl got so upset with Booksquirm near the end when you guys kept playing it over and over again lol. After playing Superstars, I can definitely see why Booksquirm is such a good minigame.
I welcome the changes they made to Coney island....no longer can people push you out of the way. But on the downside there is clipping of the characters instead. Also leaf leap is less stressful on the eyes. And there were some other changes made to other past minigames. Heck I kind of want a remake of each Mario party now
Random to mention, but you did ask this...I think the reason they changed the name of Shell-Shocked is because shell-shock was an old term for the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder that soldiers got from war. That is part of the wordplay of the original title but I am assuming Nintendo did not want to use that as a name for a Mario Party minigame anymore.

My strat for puzzle party as a kid was to instant drop the blocks until the thwomp comes and gives you big combos from the squish. I can’t remember if that was better than actually setting up combos it’s been so long since I played.

Something i feel like they should of brought back as an option is boss fights, LISTEN OKAY what if they made so half way through a game instead of a minigame you fighted a mid-boss and then at the end of the game you fight a main boss. just got the idea cus Mario party 9 and 10 had bosses and they were some of the best parts of the games
9:43 honestly best strategy for drawing a circle around toad is tonight even draw the circle you need to do is connect the lines enough in a semi circle shape. It doesn’t even have to be that big and it counts.

The minigame selection is varied and entertaining, though I do not like rng and luck based (like bowser's bombs) games much.
I don't know if I would count the item mini games, since they end way too quick--win or lose---and also because the only advantage they give you is an item that hopefully will help you win. But other than that, it's pretty solid for what it has. I hope it gets future DLC at some point in time: who doesn't want more mini games or game boards?
Man, I wish there was more of a balance of the minigames. The N64 ones have way too many and the Wii and Wii U ones have almost none. Even Top 100 had a more fair spread of minigames.

Never had much of an issue with Archer-ivals with the 3 team to be honest. As long as the purple signs are gone It’s so easy to read the 1 player’s input so I just dodge out of the way as quickly as I can.
But the purple signs are only gone if the one player mistakenly shoots them out which is rare unless they’re terrible.
That transition to atlasVPN caught me off guard
I'm honestly glad they used more from the older games because those were the best and most iconic imo. I'm sad I don't see any references to Super Mario Party, though... other than the art style.
I lot of people don't realize that in Sneak 'n' Snore the further you tilt your control stick to move faster makes you take longer to go into your barrel when you let go as well. (It doesn't help that Superstars got rid of the tips/advice for whatever reason)

On the subject of the sleeping chomp, you can hide in the barrel faster if you hold the control stick slightly out rather than all the way, but you go slower, so there's more strategy.
To be honest, the main mini-game that I'm disappointed was left out is Hot Bob-Omb from 1&2. Rounds of that game would always get so hilariously intense whenever it came up in the mini-game roulette.

Let me be honest with my opinion, I really like the selection of mini games but I also feel some really didn’t need to come back and wish there were more mini games from the newer games even what you think
It really does feel like it shows favoritism towards the N64 titles. Though, since I've never played any of those before, it means there's plenty of content for me.

11:31 Sneak n snore's time to hide in the barrel I THINK it depends on your speed, slower speeds make it easier to hide in the barrel and the opposite goes for faster speeds, so you MIGHT need to alternate between faster and slower speeds so that you don't fall behind nor get caught by the Chain-Chomp.

I have to say, I don't get how a game as broken as "Petey Piranha's Pursuit" is above simple (albeit dull) coin minigames, and "Bowser's Big Blast." The only time I've seen someone lose that game as the solo player in roughly a dozen attempts is when he didn't know what button to press to go forward.
You know what could be crazy, adding most of the games from squid games. I mean we have tug o war, and the rest of the games fit parfectly with maio party.
