  • Worcester Bosch don't want you to know this hack because it means you won't spend hundreds on the complete part instead of a fraction of the price on the main component that's failed.

    I will stick to changing the whole fan as I very rarely find that the fan has even been removed so if the fan is old\dead then the red gasket will be the same age and also needs changing. its also peace of mind.

    • @cputilitysolutions

      Thanks man. Common is just another term for a permanent live cable. But you'll find it used in anything to do with switching as that terminal will always be live, hence "common" and then the other terminals will be your switching ones to determine where you need to send that power to. Hope that helps 🙏🏾

    Immersion flex should not be on a plug

  • @persona250

    1.5 flex is good for a 3kw immersion heater and it should be connected to a 20 amp switch . That socket is not suitable for a sustained 3kw load .

    • @cputilitysolutions

      Ideally yes, but there wasn't a dedicated circuit for it and it would only be used as temporary measure so not long term

  • @mistermikeanson

    There's an 82uF, 400V electrolytic on that pcb. I'd bet that it's dried out causing the failure of that pcb.

    • @mistermikeanson

      @@lestc8579 It's not boring at all. These things can sometimes be repaired at a fraction of the cost of a new pcb. However, it's not guaranteed and the most expedient, although more costly, repair will be to replace a board which is still 95% ok. Thank you for your comment though.

    Be careful with grey market parts, they are not approved by the manufacturer for use in there appliances. If anything were to go wrong you are left holding the baby so to speak. I used to work for a company that fitted refurbished pcbs, that didn't end well. 👍

      @cputilitysolutions Yes it's one of those things but they are legally required to service the system once a year and its now over due , I've tried hitting the buttons like I'm playing streetfighter but to no avail. Looks like it's a trade secret.
      I've been in a battle for 5 years trying to get stuff done. Damp with plaster falling off the walls and roof with a hole in and gutters that don't take the water away . Doors that have drafts

    I disagree with the video title, and could be taken as liable?, as it is not a hack. the fan make is used on a number of manufacturers boiler, the fan is a complete unit, as is designed to be replaced as a complete unit. fitting a second hand part and/or third party part, to a boiler is not ideal or approved in some cases, as its not tested or approved to some point. how can you confirm that the signals from the fan to the pcb are what they should be? as its a two way communication, also would you cover the labour and fan cost if it were to come back in again within a few weeks or months? NOTE - the 067 and 443 fans are different, as they will ramp to a higher speed, and on some, there is a stated rating on the fan body. I would always fit the correct fan as a complete unit not part thereof on any condensing boiler. in the eyes of gas safe - you were that last engineer there.
