- The classic "My boiler needs a service". How often do we get a request for a boiler service, when it actually needs a repair? This one needed a bit of an overhaul, but I got it done and all sorted for the customer.

That is a top service Chirag❤. Funny how people realise the boiler needs servicing when something is wrong .
Haha exactly!
The Famous old quote “ it just needs a service “,
Brilliant content as always Mate,
👍👍🤜
Thanks Tony 👊🏾
Excellent video, I thought I was good but you are the man
. Have a good Christmas look forward to seeing more videos in the New year.
Haha thanks man 🙏🏾👊🏾
Why am I watching this when I do the same all day long .
Good job mate
Haha so true
I use a monoblock spanner on the radiator bleed & vent plugs too, works wonders!
Good tip!
If I could make a suggestion, as you’ve a good gas sniffer , as you are checking around for gas leaks check around the joints around the mixing arm to burner door , the seals frequently fail. LDF also works. The part numbers can be difficult to find. I keep them in my van stock if you need the numbers.
Good shout mate, will do that next time. Yes please if you could let me know the part numbers that would be great 👍🏾
On all my service quotes I state "A service is not a repair" and I also ask if their boiler is working and if they've had any issues
💯
Big up my brother 8K ! Man's Smashing it ..brilliant content for fledgling engineers also old school as well. Refreshing is the call from the huge majority of us SUBS....Carry on that man
Thank you! 🙏🏾
Cracked me up that the customer dried up all the condense water when u was gone 😂😂
🤣
Looks like you hit the 8k already? Congrats bro👊🏼
Yeah hit it this morning! But had recorded that intro last night 😂
You got 8k mate 🎉 congrats.
Thank you!
Omg you are the face of grundfos pumps advertising today ha ha well done mate
Haha thanks man
@@cputilitysolutions mate emailing you later today please read, for new year ok
@@ram64man no probs 👍🏾
Nice video 👍
Thank you 👍🏾
Would love to see what the cost that repair was. There’s multiple faults there on a relatively old boiler
Yes mate great video as always, I watch these most mornings before leaving for work 🔥 What’s the long arm tool you use to remove the pump? Can see that getting me out of a few sticky situations.
Thanks mate. It's just a 300mm bit holder extension on a T-bar 👍🏾
Worce one I ever had was a old shop asking for service, I asked if it worked okay and say yes. When I got there if was doors hanging off boiler so I said I'm going to try it first, heating nothing, hot water nothing,, I said I though you said it was working okay they said it was, I said when was that I was told a year ago. I forgot name but it was obsolete so I decided to leave it as I told them need to pay by hour.
Those are the worst ones 🤦🏾♂️
Chiggs your the man
Man like Streets 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
Great job. The cost of that repair would have been a lot. When I quote for multiple problems they always go for the new boiler option.
Thanks mate. I try to repair wherever economically viable, this one wasn't too bad in the end
always notice customer if boiler not function will minimum apply call out charge for diagnose & inspection with free quotation for repair or service
agreed then do the job otherwise walk away.
👍🏾
Nothing winds me up more than “need a boiler service” when boiler playing up. Nothing
💯
Do you change the Schraeder Valve on every Pressure Vessel Charge? You were unlucky to come across the handywork of the Waste Pipe Gods. Great Vid great boiler too.👍
Nope only if it's leaking after I've tested it 👍🏾 thanks mate
Great little service video was there any gas valve adjustments for the baxi ?
Yes you can adjust if needed, the exact figure will be in the MIs 👍🏾
Great video again mate, what's the name of that sniffer.
amzn.eu/d/eFrO4sc here it is mate 👍🏾
Hi. Can you post the linksfor what tools you used to clean the hex? Thanks😊
The brush is Toolstation part no. 28885 and the extension is just a flat wood bit extension from Screwfix 👍🏾
Hey great content. Do you charge more for a strip clean? Roughly how much just market research? Thanks
Yes a full service is more. £160+vat plus parts
@@cputilitysolutions 👍🏼 thanks for being honest and up front, proper prices for a proper engineer. Do the same down here in Devon
is the root cause that 22mm condense getting frozen/blocked and now this will all just happen again?
Hey my wera ratchet and extender bar get the pump bolts out but that extention bar was massive. Where you get it mate ?
Screwfix - 300mm bit holder extension
That brush you used to clean the heat exchanger, are you allowed to use that on a baxi, I ask because some manufacturers say there's no need
It's not manufacturer approved or anything but I just find it gives it a proper clean
Great vid , what compressor are you using for cleaning heat exchanger ?
Thanks, it's the Karcher OC3 👍🏾
I know it's abit mundane, but any chance one video you could go into detail or show us you doing your 26.9 checks?
What's that bucket you use? And the wee jet wash tool for the hex? Thanks
Folding bucket off Amazon/eBay and karcher OC3 👍🏾
Got any links for that gas sniffer looks decent
Here you go mate amzn.eu/d/eFrO4sc
Whats the water gun you used to strip & clean. Isit battery powered or mains supply
Karcher OC3 👍🏾
How much do you charge for a job like that? As it was only a ‘service’ but you’ve had to spend more time changing multiple parts plus a trip to the merchants
Did you do any fault finding courses when u first started out as a gas engineer? I’ll be doing my ACS in jan/feb but feel like I still would be pretty clueless around fault finding and troubleshooting issues !
Yeah I did the Vaillant, Baxi, Worcester & Vokera courses. Then I went into social housing and gained my experience through there
@@cputilitysolutions thanks mate I’ll look it to doing the same 👌
I did a fault finding course with Worcester. Essentially all we learnt was how to use a multimeter and read MI's. I can't say if all courses are the same but this one was £200 down the drain.
@@Chubby_T0511 I’ll avoid that one then ! Thanks
Jump in with a firm for a year to get up to speed.
Good luck
How comes you changed the pump mate ? Or did I miss that
Saw it was in a bit of a state after
It had been leaking from the bottom seal
That waste will seal easy without those plastic washers, it just stops the nut pulling the rubber, bit of silicon grease and would make a tight seal
Nice one 👍🏾
@@cputilitysolutions great vid as always pal
@@dd5617 thank you!
The usual, a service will fix it 😂
You know it 🤣
What is 26/9 checks?
Standard gas safety checks
26/9 refers to the basic fundamental checks, central to gas work. You must do these every job. He's referring to Regulation 26 part 9. The gas regs (regulations) are the rules/legislation, gas engineers live by.
Go on then I’ve given you a subscribe.
Thank you 👍🏾
Baxi should be liable for that, because it happens all the time
What on a boiler that’s clearly not been serviced in years?
They'll just upgrade the part which they have, otherwise how would they make any money 🤑
@@alimack5489 it’s a faulty part, Ideal recognised a few faults and replaced parts free.my total tally for boilers is 5463 think I know what I’m talking about.
That is ridiculous!!! Everting has been pissing out for months! Rental?
Nope homeowner! 🤦🏾♂️
“So you’ll do that all on my £70 boiler service yeah” 😂 is what I usually get.
😂
What was the complete bill ? Be interesting to see how you price
Sounds about right. People are deluded.
No, my boiler needs a repair, then a service
💯
Great work thanks for your efforts...too many adverts adverts adverts.. TH-cam and google gangsters are ruining it in true American fashion. It just gets worse by the day and with evey software update. ...
Thanks mate 👊🏾
