Brilliant fault tracing mate, great to watch. Fault finding has always been my preference in the electrical trade, Sometimes going to faults after another "Electrician" can be way worse than trying to sort a diy job. Keep up the good work 👍
Had a very similar fault Friday. Customer wired in controls then tried to alter it. They lost CH. I arrived and it was a mess. Wires everywhere, some not terminated safely and still live! Anyway started from Spur with power then switched lives to boiler. Moved correct connections in boiler(Vaillant as well) and hey presto CH and HW working. Ended up having to safely terminate random wires from old design/system. Looks like it used to be gravity system and not everything was decommisioned wiring wise. Anyway nice to see these wiring issues are solvable and clearly not uncommon
Yeah it's always a bit of a nightmare dealing with someone else's faults but I find starting from scratch in these cases is probably the best way otherwise you could be on a wild goose chase
There's nothing wrong with only using one 2 port and dumping the excess heat to the system when the cylinder calls. it's effectively been plumbed and wired like a semi hot water priority system. If it was set up properly with weather comp I'd expect it to actually be quite effective. Good job with the fault finding as always.
Enjoyed the first job (customer self install), I was confused did the homeowner say it had stopped working because the switched live issue you resolved would suggest it had never worked. Anyhoo, well done for working through it methodically to a successful conclusion. It is always a bugger going behind someone else’s mess ups particularly when it’s a rats nest (incidentally that’s why I prefer the Wago wiring centres - keeps thing logical, tidy and obvious). BTW the pipework with the normally closed diverter (to cylinder) is not a lash up - I believe Syzmon (YT channel Urban Plumbers utilises this layout on some of his installs).
Wow!. I'm not the best with wiring. Hat off navigating the jungle off wires. Definitely would off thrown me off a few times. You made it look simple but definitely not 👍👍
I'm confused as how it suddenly failed if wired wrong in first place ,also I'm guessing there is another zone valve somewhere as the ex husband has done a pretty decent job (although I'm an ac engineer so maybe my opinion is important)
OK after a few beers I'm thinking josh went to the callout first, tried to link stuff out to get things going obviously this didn't work hence he got u there ?
Looks like the installer sort of knew what he was doing but sort of didn’t. I also love wiring fault jobs, challenging to the brain. Congrats on 9k bro👊🏼

Enjoyed that, a nice Sunday morning relaxation fix with my first coffee.
Thank you 👍🏾
Absolutely incredible diagnostic skills!
Thank you mate!
Very well diagnosed mate well done
Thanks man 👊🏾

Nice man! My Brain would have been frazzled 😮
Always start from the beginning if you're unsure on wiring faults 👌🏾
Admire your patience mate. Great logical approach to the problem. Also learnt 'dodgy wiring skills' are grounds for divorce 😂
Thanks mate 😂 👊🏾

To be honest the customer wasn't really sure herself as her ex husband had done it all. I'll check out Szymon's videos too mate thanks 👍🏾

Thanks! You just have to take your time and break it down and then it starts to make more sense 👌🏾
You made me nervous touching them wires with your fingers with power on 😂! Great fault finding video chigs! ❤
Haha thanks man - done your video today, will send it tonight
@@cputilitysolutionscheers man 🎉
Good job. The wiring centre looks daunting but once you ignore the earth and neutral you it becomes much easier to understand.
That's it, it's all different types of switching power from 1 wire to another

Love watching the vids broski. Only just got my gas safe etc but still soo much to learn 👊💙
Nice one! 👊🏾
9k well deserved 🎉
Thank you!
Top work that.
Thanks mate 👌🏾

Thanks!
Tuff jobs them when the wiring is done wrong 🤦♂️🤦♂️

Thanks man 👊🏾 yeah love a good wiring fault find!
Don’t you just hate sorting someone else’s mess up
I do and I don't 🤣 I enjoy the challenge but also frustrating at the same time
Lol , what a mess , id of ripped it out and started again from scratch 😮
If I had the price to do it I would have! 😅
