3 cleansers, including eye makeup remover
    2 exfoliators
    Plus scrubbing with a washcloth
My skin would be so red and inflamed, but if Alanis is happy, I'm happy.

I'm so glad susan talked about the rigid view about skincare. Even though I love the FB group, sometimes I feel like some people are a little judgmental about others routine that they will make fun of the bad routines of their friends or family or of fragranced products. And also some are so rigid about skincare like won't make love if they're already done with skincare, they will freak out if they're staying over at someone's or they worry if they missed skincare routine due to being sick. I feel like people need to relax a bit about skincare, it's not end of the world.
And I do love my products to have a mild fragrance.. Specially any vitamin c serum, otherwise I'll be never able to use it due to the typical vitC smell

    • @juliat9211
      @juliat9211 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

I blame the rigid skincare on cancel culture. This need to have good and bad but nothing in between. Hyram is one of those people, although his intentions aren’t meant to be bad.

soooo, with the tons of products in the background - shouldn't she worry about them expiring/going bad?
I've been wondering this for a long time! I always try to use up my products... and then I see people's suuuper big skincare collections and wonder how they use all this stuff up before it expires. Or should I worry less about this?

I think it depends on if the product has been opened but not 100% sure because products usually have the label where it shows how many months it's good for once opened. Sunscreens have expiration dates on them. In order to make sure I don't go pass the limit I write the date that I open the product on the bottle.

I love Alanis!! I love Odacite! I use the oils for sagging skin on my neck/chest and the eye contour for my eyes. I wear glasses and I am required to wear a mask 8 hours of my day, five days a week. It has really, really dried my skin under my eyes and high cheek bone area to the point of flaking and red irritation. I used the Odacite eye contour last night and Biosance Marine Algae eye cream last night and this morning for the first time me eyes were not flaky or dry! My under eye skin area was soft! 🤗

She's exfoliating when she's rubbing the wash cloth all over her skin, but it's way to rough. I cringed when she, aggressively, rubbed her eye area with it.

I’m regards to the Dr Bronners and the ph of skin argument, the water we use from the tap to wash our faces and shower our bodies is alkaline as well. Tap water sits at a PH of 7.5-8.5. Meanwhile our skin likes to hang out between 5-6. So either way the soap is not going to make much of a difference when the water we use is alkaline as well 🤷🏽‍♂️

Pleeeease do a 90s video, that would be a dream! I’m an ‘87 baby but have an older sister so I was exposed to all the cool 90s teenager stuff. Body Shop vanilla perfume, clean and clear face wash, astringent toners, gap dream body mist, jagged little pill and Mariah Carey’s honey on TAPE! Kurt cobain poster, oversized jeans and flannels (which are coming back now and I couldn’t be happier), Freddie prinze jr, Tupac! Remember the walmart cucumber melon lotion?

Even if I don’t agree with what she’s doing, her personality is just so awesome and fun. I want her to be aunt or something.

The background bottles seem like essential oils to me. Not sure she reaches for them for her face necessarily. Could be just used for diffusing into the air. :)
Love how tactful and considerate you are by the way. I tend to favour truth and go in with it. Comes at the expense of tact sometimes hahaaa

Maybe Susan should bring out a line of skincare that’s safe for pregnant women, and good for everybody else. 😉

Heaven so what? She still has a lot of knowledge about skincare. And she is not the only one formulating and working on the products. A lot of skincare brands aren‘t owned by dermatologists. And unfortunately not all dermatologist know a lot about new innovations and studies. Ask 10 dermatologists and every single one of them may give you a different answer.

@@heaven7612 a credible hobbyist if you had to put it in such terms. as someone who works with both dermatologists and cosmetic chemists in my profession, i can assure you no dermatologist is pushing "new innovations" because it takes ages for CLINCAL trials to be conducted and factualized.. demonstrating you aren't fully aware of what you're talking about. if anything, those are the aestheticians who have a bit more free roam. all in all, it comes down to knowing how to read an ingredients list.
