It isn’t even a year or two. Barbie wasn’t long ago at all and already they’re saying it’s out. Frankly, barbiecore, pink, colour, fun and girly colours make me wildly happy and I won’t leave them behind to pretend I’m more sophisticated than I am.
Here’s the problem I have. I try to have a pretty well stocked closet for the life I have so I have adequate outfits for the frequency I go out. But then you need to have those things for just in case. The weddings, funerals, baby showers, date nights etc so I have a pair of heels in all the neutrals, and then flats, and then theres boots, and then you need sneakers, and then of course you need the bag and belt and coat. You see what I mean? You stock your closet and all good to go for what life throws at you…and then the styles change and it’s all obsolete and I have to do it again?! I just can’t keep that up. It’s exhausting honestly. I worked hard at my closet last year and felt really happy with the overhaul, so when I now see people saying something is out it’s disheartening. I think I’m going to be the person who still wears it a couple more years. I have all the oversized blazers now and I know fitted blazers are in, but I have a feeling all the women in my city feel the same and we will be wearing our oversized for a bit yet!
Invest in basics and classics - the shapes you know suit you for the events you actually attend. Decide how many trend pieces you’ll buy each year - one a week, one a season? Some people only update their handbags. You do it how you want, that’s the fun of personal style! Watch these vids as inspiration not rules to follow.
I agree! I don't really go with the trends. Everyone has a different taste, shape and color. I have clothes that 20 years old and I still wear them. If it look good on me I'll buy it and I'll keep it in my closet for years 😊

I really can’t cope with the snakeskin look. I have a real fear of snakes! I do think snakeskin in the uk was very overdone about 6 years, it was literally everywhere.

Christmas is one of our holiest holidays and appropriating it to blend in, because it’s the most beautiful holiday there is as well as watering it down by inserting something Jewish to try and make it your own is a great insult. We don’t light skinny candles and eat fried potato pancakes for a week because it’s not a part of our values and beliefs.
