Cool. I have a ton of old 18v dewalt. I'll probably pickup a 3/8 drive version (DC823). Just ordered the adapter and already have an increaser (3/8F to 1/2M). Also, the dewalt impact bits are excellent.

This adapter, and your tips, were exactly what I was looking for. Replacement battery packs for my old hammer drill cost more than a new tool. Thanks.

Love mine!!. I'm building fences and I'm putting in 4in screws. Turned my Milwaukee Stubby m12 (250ft. lbs) into impact driver with 3000in. lbs lol !!! Most powerful impact driver;) this 4×10 screws going into treated lumber in seconds !!!! Most important thing it's quieter !! much quieter than my m12 Milwaukee driver with 1100in. lbs

Is this more convenient then just popping a 5/16 socket on that thing?

Dude that little driver you have is very powerful. It is powerful enough to remove lug nuts.
And that big one is really powerful and still a good tool. You can purchase lithium batteries for it on Amazon. I have both of what you’ve got.

It’s amazing what these tools can do. Thx for watching

I always predrilled any screw over 3" doesn't matter if my drill can destroy the job easily, I still predrill!! in the long run your drill mine is a dcf887 will last so much longer. I've converted it to take a dewalt keyless drill chuck from my old drill, that way I can rapid change from drill to screw my drill gets some hammer and it still looks and operates like brand new.

    Timber locks, great fasteners

Bolting a softwood frame around some oak beer pallets for a woodshed base. Yep, had to switch to my 20v impact. I pre-drilled the holes with a long bit and B&D 3/8 hammer drill, but it still couldn't handle driving the timber-loks into the oak. I tried the Torx type screws on the first few, but found it was too easy to strip the head than with a 5/16 socket on the hex heads.

yeah oak can be difficult to screw into, definitely have to pre drill, I also find that all grk screws are susceptible to striping with impacts. especially on hardwoods

I burnt up my DCF887B just like you described. Actually, I went through two of them before realizing it was underpowered for the decking screws I was using. Really glad to see you address the exact issue I was having :) Time to buy a larger impact wrench! If I bought only one, should I get the 3/8” or 1/2” impact wrench?

Yep! I started with this method but found too much torque loss for the really demanding jobs so I just found actual 1/2 sockets for t40 and 5/16 etc

yeah i am thinking the same thing, very handy to have but cant beat a good socket driver,

@@aaronhorm994 lol sure is. I haven’t used it for years. It’s just a reminder for me of when 18v tools first came out

Ive been wanting to to get a battery adapter that can use the new batteries onto the old style batteries like you have here, what is it called?
Also I wonder if there is an adapter to turn the old style batteries with the rod shaped insert into useful on the modern sliding type battery.
It would be great to make use of old unused batteries and also to make use of old style tools. That can be acquired much more affordable than the newer ones.
I don't know if the adapter to utilize the old batteries on the new drills exists but at the very least it would be great to get the adapter you have in this clip!

    Brushless motors don’t such fail

  • @ShopperPlug
    @ShopperPlug 3 ปีที่แล้ว

The dewalt brushless motors shouldn't burn out. Theres elcetronics inside that will shut it off to cool down to avoid the magnet wire to overheat and cause a short. But then again you use the right tool for the job.
