    Level 1 when it stops you keep holding the trigger and it slowly impacts in. I tended for most control while driving

    Just got this and it's my first real "drill" impact and first DeWalt. Also came with a hammer drill and not sure when I should use the hammer drill other than for concrete work. Can't put this thing down!

      Did u get the 996 drill? It can make huge holes if u need. I have been using impact for screws and keep an ⅛ inch bit in my 996 on drill mode just to pre drill. The 996 tho can put in some work with a good 6.0 battery or higher

    Honestly something about the grip on dewalt feels better than milwaukee. Dewalt feels more rugged but comfortable can't explain. Milwaukee though are very powerful

    they seem to be an overall decent impact I know VCG killed his but he's putting it to the limits. I have one I snagged used that works good and a couple 885s. I like the 885 price point better but the 887 did have more power. I use mine mostly with socket adapters thou with auto work.

      Well jellybeans, or coffee beans or pork and beans what ever the DeWalt haters want to call it, go ahead man buy it or find whatever that works for you. The dcf888 is what works for me the most because of its Bluetooth connectivity and having a digital speed/ power selector switch. But they're exactly the same motor and specs as it's sibling dcf887 it's the dcf888 or triple 8 is what I uses the most in my jobsite.

    I have this one and the dcf885 I like the 885 over the 887...887 was dropped and has had problems ever since the 885 has been dropped twice the same distance as the 887 and is still going strong, I think cause it was one of DeWalts first and that’s when they were trying to build strong sturdy tools now they just make shit to make money stick to the old school DeWalt shit...

    • @assortedvendor5168
      @assortedvendor5168 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah you might not want to do that because impact drivers are meant for Driving screws and large fasteners. I use drill for that kind of job if I don't have a orbital sander, I use drill with orbital sander attachment and a sanding pad and I set the speed on low gear at least 450 to 500rpms only. Impact Drivers are too fast they can wear out your headlights especially nowadays headlights are made of some kind of plastic.

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      this one should work depending on the size of your nuts and bolts. you wouldn't need to buy the same impact with a socket head, but if you have large nuts to take off you may need to get the larger impact, really depends on how torqued they are and need to be. try the adapter first and see how it goes.

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you can drill with it, but you require the drill bits with a hex head on it to fit in the chuck, you are better off looking for a combo kit that has both drill and impact, they go on sale all the time.

      Dcf888 or DeWalt triple 8 it's what we tend to call it is what I use in my jobsite everyday I have 3 DeWalt's 2 dcf888 and 1 dcf887. I use dcf888 in my Jobsite because of its Bluetooth connectivity and you can track your tool on your phone and locate them. You can also lock them up so nobody can steal it while my dcf887 stays at home sometimes I switch and rotates them but it's the dcf888 what I uses the most. It's got lots of power when I don't need to use a 3/8 impact wrench because this impact driver can install a 6 inch to 8inch long fasteners when I need to install Spax Powerlags when I'm doing decking for the whole day. I don't need a larger size and high amp hour Batteries because the compact 4ah and the old standard 5ah batteries works just fine don't need to run on 8ah and Flex Volt battery. 4 and 5Ah batteries will do just fine. Sometimes even 2ah battery can do it especially when Im doing deck and Ledger boards installing Spax Powerlags or Timberloks for the Ledgers they zip right in. But for a much larger fasteners like galvanized steel 1/2" to 9/16" diameter and 6 to 8" long lag bolts that's where my dcf894b 1/2" Mid-range Impact Wrench comes in handy. Always use the Right Tool for the right and specific job only!

    • @assortedvendor5168
      @assortedvendor5168 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No not really they're the same motor of its sibling dcf887. The only stupid things that DeWalt owners can do to overheat their Impact Drivers such as Dcf887 is to throw in a 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" Spade/Paddle Bit and drill many God damn holes until the tool overheats which is the impact driver is not really meant for drilling but the DeWalt owners used it for drilling anyway and anyhow and that is stupid. That's why I only uses my Dcf888 for fastening and driving screws and I use my dcd998 power detect hammer drill for Drilling and heavy duty drilling.

      @@EireFirst2024 yeah flexvolt that's where your tool will smoke and will suffer from a catastrophic failure. Remember dude higher Amp hour Batteries can give power to the tools but it will make your tool a much more hotter compare to the ones who were using a standard low amped hour Batteries. And the DeWalt dcf887/888 have serious problems on the motor cooling system. I only runs mine on a slim and compact 4ah batteries or the standard 5ah batteries. My Rear handled Cordless saw the flexvolt rear handled saw needs to run with a flexvolt battery because of its larger motor that requires it.
