Love the Mercy Thompson series, Patricia Briggs writing is so "realistic" in comparison to other urban fantasies (as realistic as you can get with magical entities at least). She does a great job with Mercy creating relationships and exploring the different worlds she is in. I've read this series and the spin off since they've come out, and they were my introduction to urban fantasy, well, her and Jeannine Frost.
The Mercy Thompson series and it's companion series Alpha and Omega is my all time favorite series! I also think it gets better the longer it goes, and I love watching Mercy's powers develop.

I love the Mercy Thompson series. I've read all the books in the main series and the side series...I've read all the short stories as well that appear in anthology books sometimes. Patricia Briggs writing style is so easy to read and very binge worthy.

Illona andrews is awesome, try the Kate Daniels series and the spin offs they are great though the first book is a little slow, for the mercy thompson try matching the alpha omega series with it, both series are in the same universe and kind of overlap, though they can get pretty hard to read due to the assault of the main characters in both series, they are great series and I suggest you read them but know it can be emotionally difficult to read some times
You should try the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison! There's all kinds of supernatural beings, with Rachel being a witch, her roommate/business partner in a detective agency being a female vampire & their other partner/roommate being a feisty male pixie. There's around 16-ish books & they're the best!!
Patricia Briggs’ writing is so good, I think people see the synopsis and think it’s silly. The Alpha and Omega series of hers is so good too, excellent balance of character development and action. The Kate Daniela series by Ilona Andrews is great too and the world building and magic really builds.

I haven't read Hidden Legacy but I've read the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. If you enjoy the slow burn of Mercy I think you would like Kate Daniels as well. And then there is the Alpha and Omega which is a part of the Mercy world but more insta romance. Urban fantasy is the best comfort read.

Mercy Thompson is my favorite book series of all time. I’m the kind of person that reads a book once, watches a movie once. I have read Moon Called no less than 10 times. I’ve honestly lost count at this point. Once I got caught up, I would reread the entire series before a new release. I am always excited to see this series mentioned and new readers checking it out. 🩵
Howdy all! I liked the Hidden Legacy series, but their Kate Daniels and Innkeeper series are much more fun to read. But OMG, the Mercy Thompson series... I fell in love with that series in the first chapter. I was absolutely hooked. I love how much of a smart-butt Mercy is. And how her character evolves over the books is was very surprising for the genre for me. Ilona and Faith Hunter wrote a novella where Mercy and Jane Yellowrock meet.

This was so fun!!! I read a book called Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent which was FANTASTIC!!! You really need to pick it up...its on KU! I'm obsessed with this trilogy!
If I ever wrote a book my main characters would probably feel so date, just because I feel like I wouldn’t be able to get inside the head of a gen-z, they think in such mysterious ways

Have you read the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews? It is excellent and has a strong plot and character development. The first book is a bit rougher because I think it was their debut.

Ilona Andrews writes fantastic UF (Kate Daniels is my forever favorite). I really like Mercy Thompson, but it lacks a little focus for an overall plot in the series.
You should really really try out the World of the Lupi Series by Eileen wilks it's an urban fantasy with a detective, wolves, gnomes and other magical aspects the characters are great.
If you like fantasy romance, there is some great queer romances out there! Ariana Nash, for example, writes some great male/male romances. They're definitely spicey and intense, but so good! I would love to see you fall down that rabbit hole lol. The Captive Prince trilogy by CS Pacat is also fantastic (though tw warnings).
I tried Moon Called earlier this year and loved it. I really disliked the second installment though and decided to put down the series. If you are really not a fan of alpha trope I do not recommend going on
I also hate toxic alpha masculinity in these series and will stop reading for that reason too. In this series, that aspect cools down significantly imo and the romance has one of the most respectful partnerships that I've seen in urban fantasy.
