I had a sim make a booktube channel. She had a cozy attic room full of plants with a fancy cc fireplace where she would read the books, with the other half of the attic being a conspiracy room where she would break down the plot. It was so much effort for videos that don’t actually exist, but I got to read the descriptions, and got a kick out of them. Glad I’m not the only one who paid attention to them.

32:47 is referencing Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez. He’s one of my favorite authors. Essentially the same plot haha. It’s a love triangle between Florentino and Fermina. Fermina marries another man in the height of a cholera epidemic, and Florentino essentially waits around for her. The whole book compares his decades of being lovesick to cholera. Anyways, loved this video!! This feels like something I would totally do. 💕

There are references to it in earlier sims games also, iirc! Also, one of the Snowy Escape townies, Kaori Nishidake, is named after a character from the SSX games!

i love your long form videos so much! the sims is a major hyperfixation for me and i've been into it my entire life and finding your channel a few years ago where you spoke so openly about how you've lived a similar one with having sims as a special interest made me so happy! you're actually part of the reason i started looking into an autism diagnosis funnily enough, i connected to the way your described yourself and other things so much that i figured something might be similar there lol. anyway, having your longer videos now to watch and rewatch while i work on things is so amazing! i love learning more about the sims and just enjoy hearing you talk about it and the little details there within tbh

Hi Jessie, I’d like to stop in as a real life snowboarder and snowboard instructor to decode this one for you: “gaper” is a term used for someone who is very novice in the sport and refers to “gaper gap” or a wide gap between the helmet and goggles showing the forehead. “Taco” refers to a wipeout or crash that causes your body to fold in half like a taco. To “stomp” means to ride really well and land tricks well. A “grom” refers to a young person who is enthusiastic about the sport and rides well.
So essentially: “You’re prepared for the frost, now get hyped and feel the cold rush! No more inexperienced novice riders wiping out or crashing, this book is going to teach you to ride really well! You don’t have to be an enthusiastic youngster who rides well to learn to do tricks, now show them how it’s done!” is the translation for you, lol.
On a related note, it is in fact hilarious that the skiing books are so dry and to the point. In the skiing/snowboarding industry, there are cliches that we like to joke about, and one of those cliches includes skiing and skiers being dry, proper, and all about the technique, which is why the ski books are this way. This is absolutely hilarious to me as someone in snowsports!
Thanks for letting me share some fun facts about my own passion, if you couldn’t tell, snowboarding is one of my own special interests lol.
Please keep sharing these really long videos, they are amazing! I love watching them a few times to soak up the info, and it’s so amazing hearing you be so passionate about your special interests! I love it, please never stop ❤

I love that you spoke to Morgan Owen. I'm a writer (just as a personal hobby right now), and whenever I've thought about using the sims as an inspiration or way to explore my characters/stories I've always ended up deciding against it, due to illogical internal reasoning. Hearing Owen talk about it was so freeing, it's like oh yeah, I CAN do this, there's literally no reason to let my own made up rules hold me back from inspiration wherever it might come from.
Thank you for including this interview in the video ♥

The books don't exist irl to read, she meant she read the description of the item. The covers were made by Jesse herself as she says in the beginning. She printed the covers and put them on regular books she owns that are totally unrelated. Most of this is just speculation on what the book's plot could be based on the description. For some books, mostly the occult books, there are notifs that pop up and tell you more, especially the werewolf books are super lore heavy.
