One of the first test with my Marlin I short stroked for cowboy action shooting competition. Started as a JM Marlin Cowboy model in 38/357. Now uses a 38 Short Colt.
Deadeye, Really like your videos. I have Marlin 1894s and thinking about moving to the 1873. Sure would appreciate a video or information about short stroking both rifles.
This was just a test run on a short stroke I built. I used 38 Short Colt to achieve a SASS min. stroke. Ejector has to move forward, carrier retimed, new angle mill on lever, and a way to keep the cartridge on the carrier when feeding. I dedicated this rifle to R&D, it still on the table after under going some work to replace the stock ejection system. If you notice in the video the ejection is quite irratic with that short of a case. I haven't got back around to finishing it yet since I started an even bigger Marlin project. Soon...soon though...
Squib loads would be scary here
Awesome setup! Slick as!
