As a concrete finisher. I would recommend using a diamond blade saw to make stress cuts on either side of the gun and a couple hammer taps to break the rest of the way.

The magnum proves the fact that concrete is great under compression, not so great under tension. The PSI strength of concrete is only one way. This is why rebar is ubiquitous in concrete applications.
That was insane!!! I could have told you the automatics weren't going to fire, since they couldn't slide. I doubt a .50 AE Desert Eagle would have been able to fire in fully set concrete either. The Revolvers fired, because only the cylinder needed to rotate, but a .38 was unlikely to have enough power. I was surprised that the 500 Magnum didn't actually blast out the end, but I guess the hardened concrete inside the grooves of the barrel packed in that fully cured concrete was just too much to push out, but obviously, the pressure was too much for the concrete to fully contain so it split the block down the middle. Although I really hated to see firearms destroyed like that, it WAS an impressive demonstration.
Sorry for the year old late reply. I was also curious if the 500 would've blast out the end, but I can only assume that by preparing the concrete (mixed concrete we call it here) results might've varied. The concrete they seem to have filled the buckets with seems to be paste concrete, which doesn't have gravel so it is much more brittle than the one that does.
4:28 Bro, the upper part does not move. It needs to move in order to withdraw the bullet from the magazine to the weapon, but the upper part is fixed and locked in the concrete, so it does not move and does not fire the bullet.

Its because the slide can't move so only the revolvers could fire
Because the end of the barrel was longer and thus further into the concrete, it dug deeper.
The .500 revolver is FAR more powerful than the 9mm. That's why it broke the concrete. And the semi auto can't cycle in the concrete.

That was insane!!! I could have told you the automatics weren't going to fire, since they couldn't slide. I doubt a .50 AE Desert Eagle would have been able to fire in fully set concrete either. The Revolvers fired, because only the cylinder needed to rotate, but a .38 was unlikely to have enough power. I was surprised that the 500 Magnum didn't actually blast out the end, but I guess the hardened concrete inside the grooves of the barrel packed in that fully cured concrete was just too much to push out, but obviously, the pressure was too much for the concrete to fully contain so it split the block down the middle.
Although I really hated to see firearms destroyed like that, it WAS an impressive demonstration.

Sorry for the year old late reply. I was also curious if the 500 would've blast out the end, but I can only assume that by preparing the concrete (mixed concrete we call it here) results might've varied. The concrete they seem to have filled the buckets with seems to be paste concrete, which doesn't have gravel so it is much more brittle than the one that does.
4:28 Bro, the upper part does not move. It needs to move in order to withdraw the bullet from the magazine to the weapon, but the upper part is fixed and locked in the concrete, so it does not move and does not fire the bullet.
