Rick don't get me wrong nothing is for free but when everything gets more expensive and the job doesn't pay more you get angry at people. I get angry at the government. Here in Austria the taxes are brutally high.... I know we dug our own grave but if you always vote for less government and you get more government you get angry at the people. My dream is to have a house like you. (and some kids, and a wife). I know I talk a lot but our government is talking about disowning houses.
I already work 60 hours a week as a Ironworker and work out but it get frustrating, because you will never get the dream. I am 19 years old and if I look at the western economy it for sure won't get better.

Rick may be a boomer technically, but I've been watching him for some time and he doesn't run around shitting on us younger folks, unless you are a lazy bum that votes lefty and bitches that no one is handing you money to weave underwater, rainbow baskets..

I wrapped leather around my lever. 4 years later, I took it off. Found rust under it. I hunted with it, so probably from moisture. I learned something there.

I usually have mine wrapped with camo tape for protection but take it off every few weeks and give everything a clean. Eezox for the metal and renaissance wax for the timber.

You gotta have a leather sling for that pretty rifle Rick! No cheap nylon strap after all that work you've put into improving that rifle!

Love it Rick ! You gave your Rossi a bit of a “Finished “ look with the saddle ring, makes your rifle look more authentic. I’ve always been a sucker for saddle rings.😊 Well done ! 👍 Looking forward to tonight’s Live. See ya at 7pm Texas Time 🤠😉.

Rick, A quick check for bolt compatibility. Put the threaded ends together to check size then if that’s good flip one bolt over ( like one head north the other south) then mate the threads together. If they interlock it’s the same thread pitch, and you’ll never mess up the interior threads.

  • @artt3165
    @artt3165 ปีที่แล้ว +1

*Tip:* When you want to see if the threads are the same pitch use one thread as a gauge for the other by trying to engage the points of one thread into the groves of the other. If the threads engage then they are the same pitch.
If the threads are the same pitch then you check to see if the screws/bolts are the same diameter.

I bought a can of SC Johnson paste wax. It was 67 bucks plus tax and shipping on ebay. I'll only use it on my guns so it should last a while. I'm going to try some of that _Red Line_ red moly grease you use too.

Pull the buttstock first ' then pin the hammer spring with the hammer all the way back ' it takes pressure off hammer then the saddle ring post will go right in ' if you dont its almost impossible.

Any time you r matching screws put the threads together like 2 cogs would be and make sure your thread pitch is the same so u don't mess up your threads also a set of calipers r handy to check diameter ( recommend Sterrett or mitotyto will last a lifetime if u take care of them) and all bolts /screws should be able to hand tighten until the last couple of turns should never have to force it 6mm is very close to 1/4-20 threads easy to confuse if ur not careful just a machinest tip.

There's nothing like seeing some cowboy in the movies sliding their lever action into the scabbard on their horse.
(It probably isn't the best or most comfortable for the horse, but.
I always liked when when the rifle is slid under the rear side of the saddle. )
I used to have a rear sliding scabbard set up for a short lever action (It's called a "mares leg") on a pan head I used to own.
Nice job tricking out your Rossi dude.
    🫵😉👍

I wonder how close the specs are between your new rifle and my old amadeus rossi? I had to replace the ejector a while back and had to get one from a winchester model 92 and whittle it down to match the old one. It was rough going and definately NOT inexpensive!
