I'm a retired HR Director. During my 25 years in HR I saw many things but we never did anything illegal nor unethical. Then again, I worked in the public sector. Maybe that is the difference. The public sector in my State was highly regulated and unionized. There were civil service regulations, collective bargaining agreements and administrative law to deal with so agencies were not so free to do as they pleased and HR professionals' primary responsibility was to represent the interests of the State as the employer so, although sometimes one felt one was walking on a tight rope, we were protected from retaliation by department and agency heads. End result...things were done on the up and up.
That last quip about "brown nosers" and "suck ups"... Check this out - I was consistently a top sales performer and my employer was dying to promote me to sales management. I saw through this. I knew that the company embraced a level of incompetence that was astonishing and I continually turned down their offers. But I saw that whomever flew the flag highest and shouted "Ooh Yeah!" the loudest would always get the promotions - regardless of their experience or talent. I tried for months to get fired by calling management on the carpet for their incompetence, always in private - never publicly. They refused to fire me! Day-um! I would love to share with you some of the hysterical discussions I had. End of story is that a few competent co-workers and I peeled off and started our own gig. Non-compete clause be damned - sue me, I dare you...
You seem unstable. If you actively tried to get fired, you are the issue. It literally takes 1 simple notice to your employer that you quit and you are good to go. The fact that you deliberately stayed at a company you can't stand working for is a sign of mental health distress.
most people don't know about their rights and the laws that protect them. businesses are utilizing 100% of their company rights and protections and workers are falling right into line without realizing they have rights too in the work force.

this is all about the boss BIG EGO how ignorant people are. The problem with beautiful women at work, is not the women is the men's sexual frustration and the knowledge that they are weak in front of a beautiful women. They don't like feeling intimidated by women at a work place.
It used to be Personnel...then greed happened...it became Human Resources....humans became a resource to be exploited just like machines, computers, wood, oil, gas etc.
1:57 the "layoff list" is kind of necessary. When you do something that could get you fired for cause, but could also be ignored, it's a lot safer to put someone on that list. Almost any termination for cause can be contested with a lawsuit and companies like to avoid lawsuits. Even companies that have lawyers on retainer and liability insurance want to avoid lawsuits. So instead, they wait for the end of the fiscal year when the numbers may or may not show that they need to lay off people to cut payroll. Then, they lay off people. Some of them might be overpaid or redundant; but a lot of them will be on that list of assholes who should have been fired a long time ago; only this time, it's not a termination for cause that can be contested with a lawsuit; it's just a business decision and the laid-off individual can't sue for wrongful dismissal (maybe for unpaid wages or something like that but they can't say they shouldn't have been fired at all at that point). . It might not even be a "list" on paper or even in a digital file. Publicly-traded companies need to hold on to those for a few years. That means they could pop up in the discovery process of a lawsuit. It can just be a mental note and it doesn't have to be a mental note by anyone in the HR department. Every manager knows who the troublemakers, the disciplinary problems, or the low-performers are are on their team. They don't need to write that down to remember it because it's always on their mind. Then all it takes is for management to look at the end-of-year audit, discover how much more profit they could make (or how much more money they could re-invest in the company, say with a major IT project) if they cut $X.XX from their payroll, and out goes the email to the HR department and all the managers: "your team's payroll is $Y.YY and you need to cut $Z.ZZ from it by the end of the month. Make a list and send it to HR." Of course the manager is going to write down the names of the people whom they've been wanting to see gone for months, and now the list is official. . The solution: don't be perceived as a troublemaker, a disciplinary problem, or a low-performer. And if you are and you can't avoid it, work on changing your job before the fiscal year ends, because someone is already thinking of putting your head on a platter and you won't gain anything from it.
HR is right up there with lawyers, used car salesmen and advertising executives as people that provide zero contribution to humanity.

My second cousin worked in HR as a 31 year old , they wanted 20 something women , maybe because they are more easily controlled . She was being groomed to leave , social rejection , sudden strange clannish behavior from other HR employees and bullying . She and her husband have no children , so I am thinking they did not like her independent innovative thinking and questioning their system was not allowed . She now works at home doing bookkeeping and making more money. What is happening in corporations is disgusting!
Who the hell actually knows their second cousin?
In current times, HR people are realizing the company is screwing employees. I've been screwed twice then the same HR people who delt with my issues resigned after what happened. I even talked to them and found out what they asked them to do was against the law!
HR is a joke i can't do anything about anything
All this underhanded sneaky nonsense should be criminal ! Bunch of games
Hr is to protect the family only
I wish there were easier ways to prove wrongful termination. A company can simply say you were a bad employee. The real reason will not be revealed. You have to document everything that happens to you and have several witnesses to back you up; don't sign arbitration agreements. Hire a good lawyer.
Or do what they did to me upgrading my next medical they knew I wouldn't pass this in Australia me 65 I resigned in disgust they advertised for workers I put up a big warning hope they lost
HR is not here to help you.
And there are still people out there that think you should stay loyal to your employer. We are all there to provide a service with payment in return. And to be treated with respect
Layoff lists? Nothing new. They've been saying men off at 50 for decades. They can smell 50, and a payable pension.
annnnd they wonder why HR Departments are not trusted
I would imagine HR might look up people's social media these days instead of walking people to their cars.
I betcha...
If you're job hunting, deactivate your facebook, make your instagram private. Make sure they can't look you up and judge you before they even meet you.
That is very common
The only social media you should be on is LinkedIn.
Wow! This was a real eye opener! I need to watch this again!
HR are like devils with Angel faces...
Are we?
Or are you just lazy?
I think at will employment needs to be eliminated
HR is there to protect the company
Don't get a corporate office job. Go to trade school and learn a trade that has job security.
no job offers that kind of longevity security kind of thing. thats where your employment rights and laws come in and protect you from toxic work places and unethical conduct.
So take the job abuse and discrimination. Don't worry about your health especially the mental health. You can play the game of kiss azz and your mental health will suffer greatly. So say something or suffer, the choice is up to you, GOOD LUCK people.
Human resources was a euphemistic term used by the Nazis to describe slave labour.
She did that for HOW LONG??? I couldn't have stomached it for a day..
Holy crap what evil HR is
HR is like Real Estate, they all have secrets that they don't want you to know !
Same with doctors, psychiatrists, college faculty, etc. Most likely have offshore accounts getting kickbacks.
@@mandalahigherplanes9044 Agreed Supreme Court Judge Clarence "Uncle Tom" Thomas!
What they failed to “confess” was that there are virtually no men in HR. Talk about discrimination!
I’m so paranoid about being fired so I simply always have my resume ready if I do find I don’t have a job.
HR monitors my every move. They are everywhere. They hide under my bed.
Even when you take a cr**.
I have never met a HR manager that isn't evil! But...karma ❤
Wow! Thanks for the info
I'm glad I have a government job. Been on 21 years as a state employee in the state I live in.

Worship your EnSlavers !!!
A company is only loyal to itself.
So...what? This women fired people left and right over BS for years and NOW she's the good guy? FOH, hypocrite.
Where is the two-hour 20/20 special on True Confessions: Ex-HR Exec Tells All - Part 2?
They fired this girl bc she’s a woman and dresses like one?! She’s dress business attire wtf
shouldn't they be working around the moms, that so stupid to disqualify a woman because they want to be a mom.
I agree. They need to be a little more compassionate, less greedy, and see the child as a blessing not a burden.
I once stood up to a manager's blatantly unfair feedback to my job performance, and got fired.
most people don't know about their rights and the laws that protect them. businesses are utilizing 100% of their company rights and protections and workers are falling right into line without realizing they have rights too in the work force.
Human Resources cannot fire toxic employees, unless its prove of sexual harassment
HR and managers are usually the toxic employees
I was fired because I had an expensive surgery, a few weeks recovery, too expensive for the company group insurance plan
Or the Double Secret Probation "Do-Not Re-Hire List" or....Wow, you have met and exceeded all of expectations and goals this year, great job!..... performance report....meets expectations
If this is true, it explains a lot…
It is trust me
This all tru I was fired from a wharehouse job doing packaging they created a false acussassions of stuff I didn’t do they did it to protect from a lawsuit
This is 100% true
America sounds like a hellhole. I get 6 weeks paid holiday every year plus bank holidays (we have 17 of those In my region of Germany), I take 3 and sometimes 4 week holidays every year
what was said in this video may not happen in every company but it happens allot
You are right
Cynthia thanks for this video; I have hired an employment attorney to fight against a mid size tech company. My new managers only had me for 2 months start writing me out and puts me on PIP and wants to terminate me.
As it was stated in the book, "Corporate Confidential", "HR is not there to protect you; they're there to protect the company from you".
HR is there to protect the company NOT you.
Damn y’all this is evil
I saw this tonight my jaw dropped.
mine did too....that woman did it for me
How does anyone who has worked in a corporate office not know this? She comes off as a crook and an opportunist.
Axel Leroux please reread my comment
Corruption is the norm ethics are how much can you get away with without breaking law . This is the corporate manifesto employee's are a needed evil ,not a valuable tool . it is that plain and simple , sorry after 50 years in the work world that is the bottom line for most of businesses out there.
I really thanks youtube for all the educational viedos you guys put up. In a substitute I don't trust secretaries because they report to hr about my performance an I know someone is watching me at work. I'm aware of that. At least I choose my days an stuff. Hr is there to protect the company not us. I am keeping my business to my self
I got friends out side if work don't need friends at work
HR and middle management exist to give women the illusion of usefulness
You think HR cab be awful, try dealing with them as a hourly paid employee.
I never had a job interview where the interviewer walked me to my car. That’s doing too damn much!! and is a huge RED FLAG!
If HR will work in its supposed purpose it would only to be as part of a legal govermental body repesentative and every company required by law to have it. Some type of a legal psychologist HR director
That's happening to me right now..... im waiting for the layoff and will be happy when it's done.
It really depends on the industry, the company and its culture. Probably the financial, entertainment, and other similar sectors is more cut throat
In Canada we do have strong employment laws. However I'm sure the HR dept tries to go around them.
this is all about the boss BIG EGO how ignorant people are. The problem with beautiful women at work, is not the women is the men's sexual frustration and the knowledge that they are weak in front of a beautiful women. They don't like feeling intimidated by women at a work place.
God dammit Toby....smh
I remember when I climbed the ladder high enough to find out these ‘conspiracy theories’ are actually true. It’s tough to overcome.
What if on one day, there are 100 customer queries whereas on another day, there are 50? That doesn't make you a low-performer.
