    I think there is still time for my phalaenopsis Mini Mark to settle in to her new pot and new media. I could have left it in the old pot until spring 2023, so as not to risk shocking it with the leca throughout the winter. However, it is done now, Phalaenopsis Mini Mark is in the process of transition into leca and self watering. For the next 6 weeks I will be watching the night temperature lows and make sure that it does not get cold around the root ball 🤞🏼

    Gorgeous, happy plant Nina! Best wishes for this winter. LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mini Mark! S/he may be called a 'Mini', but makes a big statement on the grow shelf. A gorgeous, prolific bloomer with a nice light fragrance during the day. I pray your winter/spring season is gentle on you and your orchids. ✌🙏❤😊

      Hi Robi 💐 thank you so very much!! We are in for it, I have a feeling and I am bracing myself while, at the same time, trying to enjoy every day and night of warmth we have left. I have to say that I was missing out on Mini Mark for 3 years. I almost bought her back in 2019 but that is when my rupicolous laelia tick started and well, I have been on the hunt for them ever since. What a wonderful surprise to see her in the box that was sent to me. Those blooms... better in life than anything an image can share. I appreciate your prayers, as do my orchids, Robi! Thank you 🙏🏼 and bless you 🙏🏼 hope your day was beautiful and thank you so much for watching ❤️🌸

      HI Dianne 🥰💐 thank you so much for watching the video again! Really appreciate your feedback and I am glad that there was another little nugget of intel that was useful 👍🏼 transport, acclimating, repot, temperature change, not enough water / fertilizer etc etc, can all show signs on how a leaf can grow in the shape. It is super fascinating, and can also serve as a timestamp for when the orchid has settled in... 'this happened when I did xyz'. Even though we all want our leaves to be perfect, I find these signs from an orchid hold so much information that we can be reminded of whenever we see the orchid. Maybe I am just weird like that... I want nice looking leaves, but these kinks and imperfections are a visual reminder, that serve a purpose. Hope that your day was beautiful, Dianne 🤗🌸

      HI Andrea 😍💐 how very kind of you to also watch this video, thank you so very very much 🙏🏼 I hope that she will appreciate her new media around her, and not miss the that weird broken down bark. The roots grew so well in that supposed bad media, soooo.... maybe it is one of those that likes it like that and not good clean stuff 🤪 we shall see! ❤️🌸

    I always enjoy a repot video! The roots looked amazing!
    Thank you for the previous advice you gave me on how to get a S. Assidensis. I checked on eBay and was able to purchase one! This variety was really hard to find, all the sellers were out of stock. I never shop on eBay so it felt lucky to find #2 of 3. My Stan should arrive in a couple days!🤞🏼 Without your help I wouldn’t have thought to check on eBay. Thank you! 💖🤸🏼‍♂️🌸

      &yLand, HI 😍💐 considering that the media was so bad, look at them roots growing... well, whaddaya know? If this orchid had not been a gift, I would have left it in that media, to prove the point that I made in the mentioned video... orchids can live in media indefinitely, if one does the right thing by the watering and pH ranges. But, she is not that candidate, and neither is Sorpresa. 😬 and congratulations on your Assidensis!! Woohoo!!! 🙌🏼🥳 that is great great news!! Yay! That makes me happy 🥳🥳 thank you for letting me know. This really is exciting 👍🏼👍🏼 thank you so so much for your support, &yLand! Hope your day was awesome ❤️🌸

      🌸🥷🏼Trish San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 Hey Freundin! I like the look as well, and I hope that she does too.... long term! After Nube, I am paranoid again 😬 still, this was not the one that I would want to prove a point on, that an orchid can stay in media indefinitely. I was contradicted on that observation, in that video, so, I want to prove it with an orchid, but this being a gift, there is no way that it doesn't get VIP treatment. And, Sorpresa is not the candidate either, because... she was not placed in my path for me to be messing around with her. I want fate to see that I appreciate any orchid that is placed in my path that needs help, and will not abuse that trust by experimenting with them. Hopefully, Fate will give me more orchids by the dumpster 😆😬 Anyway... I am going to prove that an orchid can stay in media indefinitely and debunk all the parrotting 'out there'😆 thank you so much for watching 🌸🥷🏼 Schwester!! Really appreciate your time ❤️ have a fabulous rest of your day ❤️🌸

      HI Patricia 🥰💐 I was in the process of purchasing a Mini Mark 3 years ago, and then the rupicolous laelia hunt was on, so, I lost that intention to the back shelf of my wishlist. I have been missing out, because she really is a cutie! Apparently she loves a lot of water and well, hello... that would be me saying 'perfect!' 😆 the blooms are so easy on the eyes. The images I used to see of her on the interwebs just didn't do her justice. Now, I hope, she settles in and more of the same next year 🤞🏼👍🏼 US Open.... you like tennis?? I am a golf watcher myself, and the season is wrapping up with all the big tournaments, so... yeah, looking forward to January when we can see nice images of Hawaii 👍🏼 really appreciate you watching, Patricia, thank you!! And thank you for catching up with other videos, I really appreciate it 🤗 have yourself a fabulous day 🌸

      Hi Shirley 🥰💐 to have 2... that makes for a beautiful show when they are both in bloom, huh? I was amazed at just how beautiful the blooms were when I had the pleasure of seeing them for myself. And she seems to be a happy bloomer at that. Arrived with her 2 spikes cut off, but had another one growing real fast, and managed to bloom that out, all while acclimating. Amazing. It is still warm enough for this change of media to work... that is my hope anyway 😬🤞🏼thank you so much for watching, lovely lady! I hope that your Monday is fabulous ❤️🌸

      HI Viktorija 😍💐 fully agree!! Mini Mark was always pushed aside for shinier orchids, but when I saw it in bloom it was SO MUCH better in real life than anything I saw in pictures. I loved photographing these blooms because she loves the camera with the right light, the details and colors really pop! So happy that someone was kind enough to send one to me, what an amazing surprise 🙌🏼 congratulations on your purchase! I am so glad that you are just as enchanted by the blooms as I am 🫶🏼 thank you for watching, lovely lady! I hope you had a wonderful day ❤️🌸

    🦒💖🙋‍♀🙌 Such nice roots, she will do wonderfully in her new medium. Futher to what you said, I know at least a couple of ladies who grow a few complex hybrids. They are not orchid growers and would have never heard of the name Phalaenopsis if it weren't from me. But they've grown them for years, no changing medium, no fertilizer and using tap water. Being very alkaline the tap water is preventing over acidity in the pot, I presume.They may not be getting the best out of their Phals but they are thriving and still blooming as far as I've been told. Raining heavily over here, for a change. Hope you get some of it too. Much love and wishes and a good start to the week💖😍😍😘

      FFF 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 meine liebe Freundin! One day I will have an orchid and prove the point of my other video. But this is not the candidate, and neither are the others that I have. I am not putting Sorpresa through that either. She was not placed by the dumpster for me to save, give her a good life, and then use her as some kind of guinea pig, just to prove a point. The right orchid will come along one day, and I will document that it can be done.... debunking the parrots out there! I hope that you could enjoy the rain... or better said, that your orchids could enjoy the rain. We had a few drops here today and I started the shuffle to an orchid chores diary video, but no filming just in case it would increase... so, basically I wasted a day. Never mind, I got some pest treatment done, and some pictures taken... we shall see how tomorrow goes. I have not been feeling well at all today. Not that I am feeling sick, but it feels as though I am at the end of my rope. I have one more video to edit before I go to bed, but if it were up to me, I would be upstairs right now. The anxiety has been building and building... It was nice to watch your peaceful video this morning. I am sorry that I was late to watch it, but yesterday I had to be outside of the patio and only came home late (🏥) it was such a nice video and I am looking for part 2 ❤️ wishing you a peaceful and cozy evening, amiga mia!! Thank you so very much for watching and being a friend ❤️🌸

      Hi Trend 🥰💐 thank you so very much for your kind comment and for watching, I appreciate the positive feedback 🙏🏼 she is doing well.... very well in fact. Is blooming on a new spike she has grown throughout the winter, and even though I am getting some bud blast, that is not her fault! A wonderful orchid and by the looks of it, so far, able to cope with my conditions. Meanwhile, it is her first winter with me, sooooo 🤞🏼 that she doesn't suddenly decide that she is not having any of this cold, low light levels nonsense 😬 novelty phals love more water than most other phalaenopsis. That is why she was coping so well, and, adjusting the pH to buffer the degrading media, helped to have her take up nutrients without any issues as well 😉👍🏼 Hope your day is going fabulously for you, Trend! 🌸

    Your videos are so helpful to me!! I m growing my orchids in my small apartment in New York City , I have a quick question, can I use leca in ceramic pots ??, the pots have one hole at the bottom

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Yenny 🤩💐 welcome! I have not seen you here before, so, a warm warm welcome and thank you so much for being here, I really appreciate it 🤗 I have to ask some questions to be able to answer you with 99% certainty... first of all, I need to know if your ceramic pots are glazed, inside, outside, or both. That is important, and then there are more questions that I have consolidated in a questionnaire which I will link 👉🏼 cutt.ly/3XbDtKg 👈🏼 I need to know how much humidity your apartment has, what kind of orchids are you referring to etc etc. All those questions are in the linked questionnaire. It gives me a much better feeling and insight into your environment, and that will in turn, provide a much better reply... possibly with additional suggestions on how you can make it work, if your environment may not be 'just right' initially. Hope that you check the form out and that I can provide you with the correct answers 👍🏼 thank you so much for watching, Yenny, and once again... welcome! 🌸

    Do you ever wonder why they call it Mini Mark? I mean, there's no Maxi Mark or Jumbo Mark. There's a KS Big Mark, but that was registered long after Mini Mark. Anyway, I hope Mark settles into his new digs without a hitch, always helps when the root system is healthy and robust.

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! I have wondered often why they call it Mini Mark, but there is nothing on the google that clears up how she got her name. If the one little nugget I found is relevant, then, Mini Mark started out as Micro Nova, but then was bred again to what is now, Mini Mark. I have never elaborated on that though, because I don't really trust the credibility of the article I wrote. I am with you on 'hoping it settles in to it's new digs...' I should still have plenty of time before the nights switch on me. Meanwhile, just now we are getting some serious wind from the West, which is pretty chilly! Before finishing this reply, I rushed outside to see if everything is ok out there. I have orchids on the patio table because I started a video, but had to stop because we got a dusting of rain. Wasted a whole day wondering if it is going to rain or not. But ... well, it wasn't really a total waste because there were other things I had to do, but still. Set everything up and then stop, its a bit of a pain in the derriere. We are expecting rain in the early hours of tomorrow morning, and then hopefully I can get something done 'out there' 😬 If not, then I will be working on my voice over skillzzz. Thank you so much for watching, my friend!! Hope your day is going awesome ❤️🌸
