    Hey Dani, I’m so pleased with the Tying Shin Fly Eagle as well! It seems to be adjusting well to semi-hydro, in comparison to a few other Phal species that are struggling with it. I find that the young Phal species have a much harder time adjusting to semi-hydro than more mature or adult ones do. Even when using the heat mat, but I’ve added a new weapon to my arsenal, lol...still experimenting, but I can tell you anyway...have you heard of insect frass? Apparently it’s ground worm or beetle castings that act as a super immune booster for the plant and increase good microbial presence in the roots for added strength and nutrient absorption. It supposedly, also, over time, will eliminate fungus gnats along with a few other pests from the media. I got the “Charge” brand, if you wanted to look into it. 🤓😉👍🏼🌱🤗 have a great weekend, Dani! ;)

    Hi Danny, I wonder if you would read this comment, but I have a Phal Violacea that I got a few days ago. Currently it is in moss, and has 1 spike with a couple flowers, with another spike forming, and possibly a 3rd one also emerging (currently just a nubbin). The winters in my place reach upto 45 F (7-8°C) indoors. Can I pot up my plants in LECA? And if yes, what will be the best time to repot them? If not in LECA, then otherwise when is the best time to repot the summer bloomers, since in spring, whrn there is active root growth, there may also be growth of flower spikes. Regards.

    if I should leave the fertilizer in the reservor. and for how long a couple of days or until the next watering.
    Thanks and have a great day.

    Hey Dani! Quick question, where are you buying your leca beads, what's the brand called & what size are you using? Are you using just leca or combination of leca and seramis? Thanks!

    Hi Dan,
    Could you let me know for S/H which size pebble are you using 4-8mm or 8-16mm. becuase when I used 8-16 it seems is too big and my pot stay dry

    I have a question please. My Phal bloomed normal when I bought it. Now it has a spike off Of The spike. The flower looked strange to me from the start. Even before it was open all the way the back of it looked like it was forming a seed pod...Now that it is open all the way I see that The flower has 10 petals not5. It looks more like a cymbidium than a Phal. What's with that ?

    These orchids are gorgeous. I adore phal species. At one point in the video it looks like there is an african violet in semi hydro?? Are you growing it that way or are you just using the clay pellets for top dressing? I'm equal parts orchid / african violet addict so I'm curious! Thanks!

    Bunã Dani! Iti urmaresc de un timp canalul si imi place videourile tale f. mult. Sunt foarte informative, iar colectia ta e uimitoare.
    Intrebare am si eu in privinta acestor orchidei. Cât timp tin florile?
    Multe salutari din Germania si succes in continuare cu canalul tau! Cris

      Now I understand why the cadence of speech is so hyper! Older videos sound more relaxed and easy to follow. These as of past year are all super fast as if running 🏃‍♀️ through a script... on the clock... in a hurry! This is a hobby....

      I'm not Dani, but I've been keeping phals for a while now. How long was the orchid in bloom? Is it a phal? Did you recently transport the flower to a new home?

    • @ioanaadam4841
      @ioanaadam4841 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Starspells5 IT might be tht the plant has finished blooming and the flowers are dyeing or the plant wasnt watered on time or its too cold or its stressed

    • @MissOrchidGirl
      @MissOrchidGirl  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +StarSpell5 hi, like my viewers said it might just be time for the flowers to fade. Or maybe there was a temperature shock on transport or in your home. If the roots and leaves look normal and healthy the orchid should be ok and could create new blooms in the existing spike :)

    • @StarSpell5
      @StarSpell5 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Semi hydro seems to work well with phals when things are warm and bright. I'm really nervous about winter though but I can always let the reservoir go dry if I encounter difficulties...

    • @MissOrchidGirl
      @MissOrchidGirl  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Al C yes I am prepared for intervention as well in winter, but the clay pot experience was not that bad in 17 deg celsius temps, so I don't think it will be problematic at those temps. Lower than that might be.
