Thanks Maic for these couple head gasket videos. It is great to watch a pro go through this in real time. I really appreciate how organized you keep everything while taking it apart and the little tips you give while working with the various tools. I am a computer software guy who has tinkered with cars my whole life, not a pro mechanic. Watching these gives me the confidence that I can do this in my garage now. Thank you!
I like these 4 cyl engines... VW for the longest time has been using these 4 cylinder setups for a long time, just changing the exterior / what mounts to the engine (how it looks).

Baxrok2 thx my friend
Mr maic , how I can set the timing correct if I t accidentally move, how I check everything? Gracias
Outstanding video!! Got to do my 2004 very soon & this has been a great great help, keep up the excellent work!!
jeffrey Peters did you do it? i have to take my 2004 in to get fixed for this same problem
Seems fairly easy as far as head gaskets go. Thanks
You do some good work. You are a excellent mechanic. I wish you could work on my cars.
Just what I needed Thanks. I have a question tho. Do you have to lock the camshaft so you don’t lose timing position
I have a 1.6 year 2000 New Beetle. Is there any documentation like you have that I can get for reasonable price?
Maic, excellent video and thank you for posting it. Did you replace the timing belt and water pump while you were working on replacing the gasket?
No on this one. Someone else had already done that.
Good video bro thanks for sharing
How many pound do you tighten?
Hi, sir. Could you tell me about torque specs?
I you watch the whole video you will find them! Need info from me but don't want to watch the video! Funny!!
You didn't have to remove the cam gear. It comes out with the head. Unless you are going to put a new one. Or to put a new cam sensor
I always removed to replace the seal! Do you do a job like this and leave an old oil seal there? Hummmm!!
You are totally correct.Yes, it's always the right thing to do while the engine is open.
