    I visited Sikkim every month in late 1980s and early 90s for work related reasons. Every single business establishment including shops, restaurants, offices, other public places hung his photo in the most visible place. Some hung calenders in addition with Nar Bahadur Bhandari's image in it. No one ever dared to criticize him in public or in front of strangers. He ruled with utmost discipline but in an iron hand.

      Yes indeed atleast he and then MP Smt dilkumari bhandari tried to so hard when all odds were against them and succeeded in placing nepali language, under recognition in the Indian constitution as to live a life with dignity for all the gorkha community of Indian Origin..Not like some leaders whose main agenda was to divide and rule just for vote banks.

      And those of sikkim are all sikkimese whether it's Buddhist or Hindu or any other religion firstly we are sikkimese Indian not gorkha or nepali

      @@khom3940if gorkha means Nepali national , why Nepali national people signature used in indian constitution n nepali national people became member of indian constitution assembly in 1950. Dambar singh gurung n Ari bahadur gurung from darjeeling. Can foreign origin people be made signatory n member of constituent assembly of a country. As darjeeling people were not indian till 1955 indian citizenship act , as it was not under british india administratively n no British india laws ( including citizenship act) applicable for darjeeling. N can foreign origin people vote can be shown to UNO as part of referendum to merge sikkim to india. Was not Sikkim n darjeeling itself foreign to India till 1975 n 1947 respectively. If gorkha of Sikkim r foreign origin, r not bhutia foreign origin to Sikkim who r from Tibbetan plate. As bhutia is derived from bhot which means tibbet in Sanskrit. Which makes them Tibbetan origin , now chinese origin.

      @@rajivsarmah8413 I didn’t say it, debate this with ur own Indian Supreme Court. N plz don’t try to create ur own narrative, gorkha does not mean ethnicity, it is not a race or tribe. The kingdom of gorkha expanded its territory and adopted the name as Nepal which was limited to kathmandu valley only. sikkim was different country, Darjeeling was its territory. Ethnics of Nepali descent all migrated later some in chogyals time some in British time n some even later as recently, cause ur passport n voters card r available in the market cheaply at around 2-3 lakh.

    • @rajivsarmah8413
      @rajivsarmah8413 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@khom3940 supreme court later clarified it by saying it was mistake n said in the same line as the bihari petitioner who petitioned for same right as nepali in sikkim for income tax. So ur comment does not make any sense. Nepali ethnic like limboo , magar r in sikkim from way before so called bhutia. Limboo might be even before lepcha. Being part of kirat community . When other Nepali ethnic migrated to sikkim , sikkim n nepal were not country but kingdom. Not diff from migration from garwal to kumaon kingdom or vice versa At same time many bhutia ethnic tribes also migrated but enjoyed same status to dengzonpa just cuz Tibbetan ethnic which aborigin limboo n mangar got denied by migrant ruler . Considering sikkim falls in eastern himalaya, any eastern himalayan tribe migrated will be still more native in same terrain than some from tibbet. Do u think sikkims Nepali were so rich who could buy voter card in 2, 3 lakhs in 1970 s, 1980s.
