The hole in the stock is so that you can run your sling back there if you so choose after the jump. I know that I prefer the sling attached in the rear. The easiest (and most silent) way to attach it, is with paracord.

cool, thanks. I thought it coudl be that or maybe attach a lanyard to it to more easily open the stock with gloves or something. Just know its pretty unique to the FNH guns.

I finally got a NOS DSA SA58 FAL last month. The medium contour stainless barrel with the stainless LMT receiver that was reviewed by Soldier of Fortune magazine in October of 2000. My new favorite rifle. Extremely well made superb rifle in all aspects. Love it. Now I want more FAL's. Really like the one you have, as of today it is available on DSA's website, might have to pull the trigger on one before they're gone.

Great vid Mishaco. My recent experience buying a Bushwarrior ParaFAL directly from DSA was terrible. After waiting six week to get it, they shipped with the wrong features and the rifle would not eject enty shells. After sending it back for repair, it seat there for four weeks and they had to replace a few things such as the bolt carrier and adjust the gas port. I go it back all scrash up with some of the finnish gone. DSA does not do any QC on their rifles and they do a terrible job when you send it back for any repairs. I will not buy againt nor will I reconmend DSA to anyone.

FALs were a much better value proposition as home builds of original barrel kits on Imbel receivers from Pars. These days, even over at FALFiles, everyone favors the SCAR for practicality. I think the FAL is still my favorite of the Cold War era battle rifles, though, and I still enjoy shooting them. DSA also made short OSW pistols that are a real blast (pun intended).

Hi Misha, I think for sure go shoot it! I have my DSA SA58 I bought in 2005 and it IS my most Cherished rifle. I ordered it with 21" barrel, para stock and no carry cut and a Browning style hider. The charging knob does always want to poke your stomach but havent changed it to folding yet. I had to wait 10 years for the clinton ban to end and then when I ordered and down payment of $500 at my favorite shop here in Reno it finally showed up 6 months later. DSA was that far behind on their orders. I Really like your argentine. I would be happy with only that. I also put a green SAW grip and green barell shrouds and a top cover witha DSA 4 power combat scope. 300 yards, 12' plate, super easy hits all day. I am happy with just 1 FAL but cant get enough AKs, what's up with that?

Just so you know, the folding handle won't work with a standard receiver. The front of the cocking handle slot has to be releaved to let the handle fold in all the way.
