I got to shoot a Canadian fal at the range last week. I've never shot a 308 semi auto riffle and I expected lots of recoil. To my surprise it was a very pleasant gun to shoot. I'm a fal simp now. Trying to decide between a DSA and an import. I'm gunna shoot it with iron sights so a 2MOA gun wont keep me up.
Great video as usual! My first FAL was an South African Imbel parts kit that I bought from Tapco in 2001 and built it on a new Imbel type 3 receiver that I got from FAC(?). Still have it today and just love it!
Another great video Buddy. Thanks for all the info and content you provide to us!
Thank you
Can we get a Mosin deep dive video please
Ooooh Yea FAQ’s 😀😊😇 I Love Trivia Misha Good For The Mind and Keeping The Brain Sharp 😎🥹😀
I just bought my first FAL. It is a DSA SA58 Medium Contour stainless ported Barrel and Stainless LMT receiver. Unfired that was purchased by the original owner in 2002. Would you know if those barrels were also made by Badger ? Particular stainless steel ? And your opinion of the particular rifle if you're familiar with it. Love all your videos and extensive knowledge. Thank you so much.

Misha, it would be awesome if you got information on an Argentine FAL that was a reasonable price! Enjoyed the video. Happy New years to you!
? what do you mean?
@@misha5670 I just meant it would be cool if you came up on one.
I wonder what a 6.5 Creedmoor FAL would be like. I've always seen 762 as the incumbent "logistics" caliber and believe it would be a good platform for something with lighter recoil.
6.5 Creed's main perk is a flatter trajectory past about 500ish yards vs .308. This benefit wouldn't be of much value on a Cold War era battle rifle.
It also burns up barrels much faster than .308, which is anything but an advantage for a fighting rifle.
Chambering traditional Nato caliber rifles in 6.5 is a fun thought exercise, and sometimes makes for an interesting commercial product. But that's really where the utility ends. Softer shooting rifles already exist, they use intermediate cartridges and are the most popular rifles on the US market.
Thank you, couldn't have said it better myself.@@vault_dwelIer
That one appears to be lacking the built in bottle opener........
Built in bottle opener? And which 'one' are you thinking of?
can you let me know when you have a Sig 553R for sale - I'll buy it immediately - or in 556/223
If I may ask, and I'm sorry if I missed it who actually made your L2a1? Is it a parts kit gun? Or a import? the wood furniture looks amazing. Best FAL I've ever seen. Edit, DSA I believe?
Its on a DSA Aussie pattern receiver, but the other parts are original Lithgow.
@@misha5670 thank-you, it's beautiful. Did you have it built or was that something dsa offered at one time? I'd like to get one is why I ask. Thanks again.
My friend built it.@@mattmorrison9379
Great job.
Really, the FAL is only a step up / a bit more difficult to build than the AR15. Its pretty easy for anyone with a decently equipped garage. @@mattmorrison9379
I have a Armscorp of USA Baltimore Md T48 308. Match on a Israeli style Fal.. Im no tsure if its heavy or light barrel it hads 2 donuts, birdcage flash hider, a sand cut bolt and a lug for a bayonet I believe thats what its for. Your israeli heavy Barrel looks similar but small things are differetn but thats vecause this was a American made Fal Kit gun I guess.. it came with 3 metal metric mags whcih makes the whole thing super heavy but theg will not feed with them magazines it scrapes the tops of all types of ammo nato and commercial.. so tried polymer 10rd and it will feed the first rd bht itll get stuck on the feed ramp after that now this is only by hand not shooting I never shot the rifle but really want to. I been trting to find a answer and cant find much on this style rifle more less a reason it wont feed. Any imput would be appreciated.. Thanks
Honestly? If you've never actually tried firing it, you do not know it won't feed. Hand cycling is very very different from live firing.
Misha, would you trust a FAL with your life
Fiberglass stock?
The Steyr has basically a true plastic type stock. The orig FNH stuff was a blended/reinforced material though.
