Happy Ending in Question : See Everyone you love and whos closest to you die in a horrible Accident and feel like you could have changed the Outcome. Truly, written like a Childrens Book
This is Clinnord E. Sillinius, better known to us as "Captain Silly". You see, in the main universe, Captain Silly is leader of the tomfoolery brigade, and has saved countless lives in his heroic efforts. Instead, we find Clinnord sitting in an all white room in Guantanimo Alcatraz Fuckland, only he's bleeding and his skin is falling off and he's covered in cancer. also, for some reason, a great white shark breaks in the room and rips him in half. unfortunately, Clinnord also had every known disease to mankind; this infects the great white shark and kills it immediately. This was the last living great white shark and now the entire species is extinct. Then, after i wrote this, i slipped on an inconviently placed banana peel and fell down 800 flights of stairs. In the main universe, i was Tom Holland, who was Captain Silly's best friend.
I didn't mind these dark stories.. nightcrawler eating his tail, Kitty..smh.. poor Kitty. It was kind of a cool twist on the mutants and all the marvel characters. The artwork is brilliant, as an artist myself i appreciate it. reminds me of Dave McKean 👍🏻
I never liked these issues. It's basically an edge lord writer coming up with different ways each Marvel character could grotesquely die or become mutilated while a reporter is always in the right place at the right time. Aside from that, there's no real overall story.
Tell me about it. Some of the deaths are just grotesque as well, Jean Gray is a hooker who gets gunned down in the street? What the fuck? Who wrote this lol
Exactly. Like the part where Fury says that Captain America introduced him to cannibalism. Like what? What’s the significance of that? Is it because Captain America is usually portrayed as good natured so the thought of him eating human meat is dark? That’s so stupid lmao
That was odd, tell you one thing though that artwork was amazing, very dark story kind of hated it but kind of loved it also, one of those. Still the artwork was absolutely beautiful
This story itself is one of the most ameturish pieces of drivel ever put to Marvels press - and that's saying something. The ludicrousness of the whole thing and the lengths things are put to just for shock value is more akin for a Crossed comic than a Marvel one and the art in the Crossed series was far better.
Ruins is a product of mid 1990s edgy cringe. Shocking for the sake of being shocking. It's in the same vein as The Boys but at least The Boys has kinda of a story.
As edgy as it does get, Ruins does make for a satisfying "What-If" scenario in a world that is honest in its corrupted nature. Marvels is American idealism. Heroes from unconventional beginnings rising to the occasion to save the common person because it's just the right thing to do. Ruins is a reflection of our own world, how it honestly treats vigilantes and the true ramifications of these science-experiments and fantastic powers in our grounded reality. An experimental super-metal very well could poison a man's blood and bones till death. A venemous radioactive spider will likely give you a skin-eating infection that will kill you. There would straight up be secret jails for incapacitated and neutralized supes and mutants alike. Not for nothing either, authors of Marvels and Ruins are interesting in the sense their lives oppose each other. One wrote a ground-breaking story about fantastic heroes saving America and her people while he lived a life as a womanizer and abuser. Ruins is written by a man who sees the state in which comics exist in our world. It's troubling and confusing times wouldn't have room for heroes with incredible powers, and also he didn't abuse anybody. Tl;dr Marvels and Ruins are a package need to be experienced together to really grasp the weight of being one heartbeat away from greatness.
hey we dont know each other but i hope ur doing well and I wanna say that GOD still loves u and wants u to be with him all u must do is trust in Jesus (dying for our sins on the cross) and repent of ur sins. GOD loves u more than u can imagine.🎉😊❤❤

Hilariously, the writer of this comic is a friend of Garth Ennis the writer of the Boys comic book.
