I'm sorry but the idea that Batman mutters justice to himself is hilarious. I can just imagine eating lunch on the Watchtower and hearing Batman grumbling "justice" under his breath as he walks by.
went to watch this bc i thought itd be hilarious, then like 3 seconds in went "wait is this just gonna be 'batman but he kills people'?" and then i was immeditatley vindicated. like woahhhh.... beloved comic book character kills people.... the one famous for not doing that... so edgy..... bros literally remade 'the batman who laughs' but analog horror. "guys its batman but he tortures and kills people wooooooo" yeah bud we get it ur edgy go eat ur vegetables
Exactly! I just said the exact same thing .. why make a hero into something horror? They already did that with the batman who laughs and i didnt even like that either that much 🤦
The idea is decent, but the execution is pretty meh. The entire thing looks like it's a student presentation instead of a real documentary, which I think is the style the creator is trying to aim. It also has a lot of typo error. I think the creator is trying too hard to emulate the style of other analog horror, which isn't bad, but they forgot to take an inspiration from real life, especially with the Arkham announcement. Which is why I think the whole thing is just simply not believable, unlike the other analog horror. The whole idea of analog horror is interesting because it blurs the line between reality and fiction, which this didn't do at all. Gotham 1919-1939 is probably the closest you'll get on Batman's analog horror.
Would have been better if it took place in our world. like the batman comics exist, and THIS happens. Would make you question what was going on, Who is the Batman, Things like that.
Okay, this is what DC should've focused more on when it comes to Batman's Character. The fear of Criminals and Gothamites fear of Batman. The line "Batman, stop yourself!" Would be so scary and cool if it was like a Batman gets dropped into an alternate universe where this takes place. The only thing that comes close to this Analog Horror is "Batman The Silenced" which DC has not continued to this day. Sad. 😢
The ability to full immerse myself in the story was immediately shattered by the knowledge that vhs didn’t exist til the mid 70’s, like this wouldn’t be analog horror in the traditional sense this would have been on like shitty film reals
This is just really unrealistic as far as analog horror goes. Even considering analog horror like Local58 and Mandela Effect - where the tapes being watched are manipulated -, the concept of multiple people making entire tape recordings full of editing, text transitions, suspenseful pauses between sentences and full transcripts of their thoughts just seems like simplistic writing to make something analog horror just for the sake of it. Not even mentioning batman intersecting every single VHS to put corny jumpscares and red text all over them. That alone throws immersion out the window. Not throwing shade at the creator, this definitely just seems like a teen's fanfiction about a Batman horror story, but the way this video uses hyperbolic terms to make this sound like the greatest thing to have ever exist is very intellectually dishonest. Especially with the title of the video, and the video itself trying to exhaust as many extreme words for quality as it can, like this somehow beats multiple products that cost millions to make. No matter how much one likes this story, it's just a very simple narrative that uses the simplest canon from Batman stories, and one that would benefit from being in another format.
@@mensaticoI have said many times and I will say it again. So many of these analog horrors are terrible because they include supernatural elements for no reason, with no understanding for story and setup. There’s a bunch of Jurassic Park stuff that seems awesome at a glance but needlessly include spooky shit with no explanation instead of playing the horror straight and sterile.
@@iamnobody350 my headcannon of how this is an analog horror at all is that it's V.H.S. conversions of old super 35 film, since super 8 film released at most 3 years after the events of this series takes place. Still doesn't explain how the batman was able to modify the contents of the super 35 film, since it's just a deranged batman and not an unknowable eldritch being that has the ability to affect our media for it's goals, but I shouldn't think about things like that too hard.
Wouldn't that affect the footage differently? I think the series creator has some responsibility to indicate the age of the "analog" equipment through the way its presented onscreen. Otherwise-there's no more "analog." There's just bad presentation and even worse storytelling. @drakenforge4276
Right? I think the first murders are done weirdly too. I feel like one would have been enough and got the point across that we’re starting the story with Batman breaking his usual rule immediately. The almost tacked on “oh and he skinned them and made them all bat shaped and removed all of Ivy’s hair” felt very urbanspook too. Didn’t really add anything, didn’t feel necessary… was just kinda silly to me. Felt almost like it was just a shock factor thing, which is a shame because I think the whole concept for this is really interesting. Also I feel it was a bit of a shame to immediately get rid of a bunch of super compelling villains right off the Bat (pun intended) because Man Bat and Ivy in particular could have been SO interesting in this format. I was curious to see what the take on them would have been in this twisted universe and then they were just immediately snuffed out. Hopefully the creator focuses more on the strengths of this series because they are really strong!
@@User1234-5g For suggesting a dark themed edgy name, for a dark themed edgy story, for a dark themed edgy character? Are you lacking in comprehension, you 8?
Usually I hate seeing my childhood heroes being turned into horror characters, but this one's definitely cool. It brings a new version of the character we know and love while still mantaining said character's lore's chore traits. Aside from timeline clashing, imagine what an interaction between this version of Batman and Homelander would be like.
Late to the party on theories, but what if it wasnt an otherworldly being he struck a deal with, but something that has turned every hero brought to it insane, the Lazurus Pit. It turned one Robin into Red Hood, turned more into villains... What would happen to a batman who stepped inside?
A nice horror interpretation, but honestly... I find the motivation behind Bruce Wayne turning into a monster really dumb: 1) The state would have provided another tutor for him. 2) Alfred is very important, but it's not because of him that Bruce is "sane". 3) Bruce Wayne has a strong rational mind by nature. 4) The moral sense of justice of Bruce is not just a product of Alfred behaviour. I think that a more realistic version of Batman without kindness and love in his youth is a dark Pulp hero like the Spider, the Shadow or.... The Bat: Always ready to kill their enemies, always with their guns ready, but not psycho monsters.
You REALLY need to do more over analog horror, this video was so well made I thought that you for sure would've had more subscribers or a larger backlog of videos. I can't wait to see what else you'll make, your gonna grow big brother I can feel it
I do love your further analyses of each episode, but I think the narration could be slowed down a little bit. Seems like you’re jumping from point to point instead of letting each idea or theory sink in. Either way, great vid! You’ve earned my sub!
I think another thing that could work is that the Bruce of this universe ended up making a deal with Gotham itself to gain his abilities. It's been implied in the comics that something off about the city itself, like something draws in or causes the tragedies that happen. Or Gotham is a entity in of itself. Either way, this series is very interesting and something I'll keep an eye on as an analog horror fan and massive batman fan. I wonder how the league of assassins will play into this actually. I know it's a long shot but it could be interesting.
I feel like this would be the perfect opportunity for the jester joker's alternate superhero ego to jump in and attempt to stop twisted Bruce Wayne. Personally, I feel like the only person that can stop him at this point is Spider-Man or symbiote Spider-Man.
this series isn’t polished and it feels really sloppy, most of these analog horror series do research and have major attention to detail especially if they are based on other forms of media
I really enjoy Siltrics' work. The DC analog horror he produces is great. It's so detached from what we know from the characters, but at the same time, is really in line with what the characters could have been if circumstances were different. I've never really watched analog horror series themselves, often just watching recap videos much like this one. Except for Siltric's work. I love all things comics, and this just hits the right cord with me. Enough so that I actually keep up with the series outside of the summary videos. I know Siltrics is experiencing a lack of motivation and discouragement from all the analog horror gatekeepers saying "Ughm acktually this cannot be analog horror because [insert reason here]" and "this isn't the Walten files/Mandela catalogue". But it's not supposed to be. It's something different. Something just as interesting and fascinating, with just as much heart and soul poured into it. I sincerely hope he continues making these for as long as he's enjoying doing so. They're well made and tell a fascinating spin on already beloved characters.
The premise is neat but it falls into the same traps as plenty of other analog horror ventures leaving it feeling more tacky than scary. I think there’s more that can be done with the concept though and there’s clearly already lots of thought put into it
It should also be noted that VHS tapes were invented in 1976, so the analog horror aesthetic, while compelling, makes no sense. These videos would most likely be recorded on 16mm film reels and played on a projector, which creates an entirely different feel to VHS.
The thing with Analog Horror is it tends to work best in two specific circumstances Discovery and Exploration. Discovery is the case of someone stumbling upon archived media, or a recording or something that awakens or exposes a underlying horror that ends up targeting them. Exploration is the ongoing exploration of a anomalous phenmenon in a time period where these analog effects make sense (70s/80s). You have to pick and choose which one you want it to be. It doesn't make sense for random people to be making VHS tapes in the middle of a ongoing story, who will the tapes even be for? Who is even watching them? The issue with Analog Horror is people think it's some new catch-all brand to horror, it's not. It's a hyper specific niche of horror that needs specific circumstances to work as intended. It's like Lost Media, but if the Lost Media was covering up something larger and something you have no control over.
I think that he might be using a Lazarus Pit, actually. This is exactly what would have happened to Batman if he was more like Raas. It could also explain the coffins.
13:02 I love the subtle hint with the Robins and Batgirls coming first om the list the third name would have to be the third sidekick, combined with the barely legal but clever detective work all pointing at it being Tim Drake.
I dunno, this literally just feels like “if ‘x’ character was evil” because the fact that Joker is made even more insane just because of gruesome murders (the same guy who tore his own face off in several comics and started wearing it as a mask and has done a lot of insane stuff) just makes him seem like a regular crazy patient, as well as the others (Croc, Ivy, Manbat) as just patients in an asylum. It makes the world much more realistic, in that they don’t feel like “criminally insane super villains”, and detaches it from the DC universe (even though it continuously tries to attach itself to in-universe lore). Personally I’d like it more if it didn’t try to attach itself to DC lore so much, because it creates a lot of plot holes (him somehow acquiring Bane’s Venom and Scarecrows Fear Toxin with no Batman training).
Very interesting video, though can you maybe slow down a bit? I feel like I’m watching on 2x speed. I feel like it’d be better if you gave a bit of time for viewers to digest the previous tapes etc between.
Good analogue horror had mystery and it needs YOU to piece it together (Local 58) Siltircs lays everything out infront of you it's just boring... Batman doesn't feel terrifying after the first episode

We've literally seen a character exactly like this in Owlman and even he isnt this much of a psycho, it just doesnt make sense. Same problem with injustice superman imo
My new favorite thing to do is watching a video I fundamentally disagree with, then sorting the comments by new. That way I'm reminded sane people like you still exist.
@@theprimordiallogic2917 i didnt even feel this strongly abt analog horror until i saw like 100 videos glazing man in the suit when its literally just an even more basic nuclear war bad message than the actual fucking movies not 2 mention how mid the visuals are
@@joycongirl man in the suit is so ass, thank you for being like the only other person who thinks this, ive had this gripe for a lot of analog horror that it really is just the new age version of "insert fan-favourite child-like cartoon character but as a gruesome killer with edge"
@@irfanithink its quickly becoming that, but the thing about old creepypastas is that 95% of the time it was written by like. 12 year olds who were just finding out how to write stories. Almost all of these new age stories are made by adults who really should know better
Wile man in the suit is not exactally a masterpiece but i would't considere nontheless.
It falls in some cliches, specially in presentation, but overall it does more things good or atleasr decent then straight up bad. The narrativer makes you want to know what happens next and it's easy to follow, the concept is interesting, some visuals do work decentlly well, and for something made by an teenager in an mobile editing software it's all well put togheter.
Even tought people can overrate it a litlle to much it has a lot of potential and according to an interview the creator gave in an video the prudction vallue will only rise for her on out so i guess only time will really tell.
Nothing wrong with disliking the series tought, just my opinion :P
Sad. 😢
They do that in the Ultimate Cut of Batman v Superman where Batman is feared because of how brutal he is.
I am pretty sure in most Batman media, common thugs and criminals do fear Batman a lot. Just take a look at the Arkham Series.
We look forward to your analysis with great interest!
You need more views bro, keep up the grind

This sucks I’m sorry but analog horror isn’t interesting or “ really scary “ it’s just mass produced slop
Agreed.. whyd they have to do batman like this :(
Awesome vid. I also think the Lazarus pit can be used for horror in a crazy way!.
Only one problem! 23:50
No matter how much one likes this story, it's just a very simple narrative that uses the simplest canon from Batman stories, and one that would benefit from being in another format.
some people said that this takes place in a more advanced 1960s timeline (but like i still get your point)
This is top tier content dude, subscribed and looking forward to seeing your channel grow!
Thanks bro, I appreciate it!
Oh man I have found a great channel when its still small. Keep up the great work
Basically batman who laughs X evil batmen without alfreds X arkham knight
>VHS tape
>1959
lmao what
it's a cool concept, but the frequent misspellings and the urbanspook-esque slideshow format really drag it down
If this series doesn’t have a name, I’d like to suggest one: The Darkest Knightmare.
HARD TITLE 🔥
Or just The Dark Knightmare
@@chuckyzrevenge nah original was better

@@User1234-5g For suggesting a dark themed edgy name, for a dark themed edgy story, for a dark themed edgy character? Are you lacking in comprehension, you 8?
Usually I hate seeing my childhood heroes being turned into horror characters, but this one's definitely cool. It brings a new version of the character we know and love while still mantaining said character's lore's chore traits.
Aside from timeline clashing, imagine what an interaction between this version of Batman and Homelander would be like.
Batman is Morbius, he is morbing those kids
This reminds me of that episode of SpongeBob where he and Patrick were screaming while riding that baby rollercoaster.
Whoa I thought I was watching someone with a couple thousand subs not 38 amazing video keep it up will definitely be sticking around
Unpopular Opinion: This version of Batman would be amazing as a DC Elseworlds story.
25:46 he might have found a Lazarus pit
My boy Jason went from the crazy rebel, to that rebellious nature being what let him keep his head on straight
Overstated didn't get scared once. Plus it's like other analog horror series, bunch of information/lore and then spooky face or image to scare you.
Late to the party on theories, but what if it wasnt an otherworldly being he struck a deal with, but something that has turned every hero brought to it insane, the Lazurus Pit. It turned one Robin into Red Hood, turned more into villains... What would happen to a batman who stepped inside?
analog horor fans when scary picture :😦😦😦😦😦
A nice horror interpretation, but honestly... I find the motivation behind Bruce Wayne turning into a monster really dumb:
1) The state would have provided another tutor for him.
4. Exactly. Alfred physically disagrees with Batman’s no kill rule.
Calling this "the best piece of analog horror media" is crazy. This shit is mid af 😂
I agree
It's his opinion.
You’ve earned my sub!
literally just urban spook batman
A VHS in 1959?
this series isn’t polished and it feels really sloppy, most of these analog horror series do research and have major attention to detail especially if they are based on other forms of media
This is honestly the best video I’ve seen in a while dude this is awesome content keep it up love the editing and how you just do the video
The premise is neat but it falls into the same traps as plenty of other analog horror ventures leaving it feeling more tacky than scary. I think there’s more that can be done with the concept though and there’s clearly already lots of thought put into it
All the spelling errors are taking me out of it
It should also be noted that VHS tapes were invented in 1976, so the analog horror aesthetic, while compelling, makes no sense. These videos would most likely be recorded on 16mm film reels and played on a projector, which creates an entirely different feel to VHS.
Imagine if the batman from the normal universe entered this universe.
Its possible that jason could become the red hood honestly
This is S tier content my guy, love the content so far keep up the hard work wish to see your channel grow
Ohhhh this is really good! I just found you by accident. This is now becoming my favorite.
Maybe not the best idea to watch this at 2am at night 😅
The thing with Analog Horror is it tends to work best in two specific circumstances
Discovery and Exploration.
15:08 Batman on Tren and Meth Lol.
It's a neat concept and the graphic aspects are done well, but the frequent typos and clunky writing take me out of it so much
I think that he might be using a Lazarus Pit, actually. This is exactly what would have happened to Batman if he was more like Raas. It could also explain the coffins.
Huzzah, i love it when passionate folk make an amazing vid, its 100 times better than what they have in the theatre
13:02 I love the subtle hint with the Robins and Batgirls coming first om the list the third name would have to be the third sidekick, combined with the barely legal but clever detective work all pointing at it being Tim Drake.
idk man i'm not sold on the ai voice overs in the videos
The Batman Who was an Analog Horror…the one Who Laughs would be proud ..
dudes out here really thinking soyjak batman is scary 💀
The pace at which you're talking is giving me anxiety jfc. What's the rush, my dude?
The pics remind me of scary stories to tell in the dark
Very interesting video, though can you maybe slow down a bit? I feel like I’m watching on 2x speed. I feel like it’d be better if you gave a bit of time for viewers to digest the previous tapes etc between.
