The writers totally ignore Peters limits so why not totally ignore Tombstones? and no, Peter cannot tank punches from the Hulk. In others he can get beaten down by a guy in a robot suit. Superman would be the prime example, sometimes he can literally sneeze whole solar systems away, while in most versions pretty weak opponents in comparrison can at least draw blood.
Well, it's obvious that the writers wanted to portray a villain being capable of outsmart a hero, and that itself is not bad, actually it works to show that heroes are not flawless, which makes them more compelling and the villains look more competent. Yet it's so wrong when it is done by nerfing the characters to the point of absurdity. Spiderman, being so fast and strong as he is, he would have taken out Tombstone in melee any day of the week. If they truly wanted to make this works, they should have use something like a sleep gas or something that could work on a closed space while Tombstone put on a mask. And the icing of the cake, is Peter begging for his life, to add further humilliation to the character.
Here's the thing though, you think the premise is faulty because you think that Tombstone is some random Spiderman villain, but that is far from the case. Tombstone has always been one of Peters toughest opponents over the years, Tombstone has never made any of their fights an easy affair especially with his borderline indestructible skin. If anything Tombstone was the one who got nerfed in this story because Peter was actually able to draw blood with his punches, something Peter can't normally do even at his best.

I've read books where Spiderman fought the Hulk. Spiderman didn't win but he did put up a decent fight. Has Tombstone ever been stronger than Spiderman? I know that Spiderman plays around with his opponents too much but he just took a beatdown in this one. The fight made no sense to me. However I don't know what any of us can do about the outcome.
I can’t believe Peter got nerfed this badly thanks to Zeb Wells’ awful run. This is the same character who beat Carnage/Norman Osborn while protecting two kids with his bare hands in the last run, went 1v1 against Morlun (who killed multiple alternate Spider-People) twice, survived getting the crap beaten out of him by a phoenix powered Colossus and Magik while making jokes at them, lasted two weeks being buried alive in a coffin by Kraven and can lift up to 10 tons according to the main Marvel site (which is almost as much as a tank)
Don't forget in the ultimate comics Peter at *15* years old was strong enough to whoop all of the sinister 6 at the same time with a bullet in his chest He only lost the fight cause they dragged it on literally all day so he was fighting from Sun rise till nightfall

@@hugzar9797 Tombstone fights on an entirely different level than Fisk, Peter has to hold back significantly in order to not hurt him too badly, Tombstone on the other hand is so tough that Peters punches can't even scratch him and end up causing more damage to Peter than Tombstone. Also Fisk beating Dr. Doom was one of the biggest outliers in comic history, up there with Spiderman somehow beating Firelord of all people one on one.

I liked tombstones plan actually. It was a good one by him and I could see spidey falling for it. But he should have been able to get out of those cuffs. And why wasn’t his spider sense gonna work?
Spider- sense only works if Peter is in danger. The guy helped peter so he was in no danger from him. Also, those cuffs were titanium or possibly adamantium. Peter could got out of them if they were either material.
What I like the most about this channel is not just the quality of the narration. Is about that the videos are just enough to entertain on themselves, but also leave enough curiosity to keep reading the comics. And that for me, is what makes this channel so effective. Spiderman being at all comparable to Hulk is poor writing on par with Spiderman beating Firelord one on one and Black Panther choking out the Silver Surfer. In most comics Peter can't even scratch Tombstone no matter how hard he hits the guy, his punches end up hurting himself more than Tombstone.

His durability however, is another thing. Tombstone's durability allows him to endure dmg from Spidey. I guess this is the 10 ton Spidey here bcuz of the hydraulic press(chain metal had to be titanium). Tuff for Spidey to deal with the hydraulic press while getting hit by Tombstone.

This is AMAZING. You know, I've been a superhero fan for years and really want to get into the comics...but I'm the type of person who needs to hear the voices of the characters, sound effects and music to be engaged. For that reason, I've always loved motion comics, but those are few and far between. What you're doing is GENIUS - you're basically making condensed motion comics with narration, using more modern issues. I can see this is made with immense care and respect for the source material, especially in terms of the editing and voice acting. You're doing God's work, my friend, spreading awareness of these often-overlooked stories. Channels like yours are definitely going to aid the comic book industry and let people know just how great a lot of the books are. Judging by how well manga and anime have done, I can't help but feel Marvel and DC would be doing far better if they just adapted these stories word-for-word like anime does for manga. If Invincible is any indication, faithful adaptations can be successful and lucrative. Oh, and you earned a subscription from me. I'd like to see you do even more of these types of videos in the future.

I would imagine that did put much more strain on his muscles and bones than hug from Tombstone and he did not break back then. Also Spidey fought people from several weight classes higher than him in terms of raw power. Of course he mostly dodges attacks, but I would imagine he is much durable to not get one hit by cosmic entities etc... Handcuffs also seems iffy to me, but maybe there were mixed with adamantium as Spider joked xD. And maybe I'm not just familiar enough with Tombstone and I'm downplaying his strenght.

I actually quite like this story, and I think that people should really think of this as a stand-alone story rather than something in continuity. Here we have a version of Spiderman that's more of a neighborhood-level hero again, and where fighting the overwhelming odds of the entire criminal underworld is brutal and comes at great personal cost (similar to season 1 of the Daredevil TV show). On the other hand, we have a version of Tombstone that is far more powerful and menacing than some C-tier criminal goon, which is again something that I enjoy in general (when a villain-of-the-week type character is made into a serious threat). The bait-and-switch that Tombstone pulled at the end was really clever, and the ending really has this film noir-type feeling of how the dark side of any city will always exist in the shadows, and trying to fight against it will only leave you more jaded and broken than before.
The writers: So how should we make Peter's life even worse than it already is? We already made his girlfriend cheat on him, all of his loved ones dead and making him suffer and depress for years. What about we nerf him so bad that he couldn't even fight street city level gangster while begging for his life?

In others he can get beaten down by a guy in a robot suit. Well, it's obvious that the writers wanted to portray a villain being capable of outsmart a hero, and that itself is not bad, actually it works to show that heroes are not flawless, which makes them more compelling and the villains look more competent.
Yet it's so wrong when it is done by nerfing the characters to the point of absurdity. Spiderman, being so fast and strong as he is, he would have taken out Tombstone in melee any day of the week.
If they truly wanted to make this works, they should have use something like a sleep gas or something that could work on a closed space while Tombstone put on a mask.
And the icing of the cake, is Peter begging for his life, to add further humilliation to the character.
Here's the thing though, you think the premise is faulty because you think that Tombstone is some random Spiderman villain, but that is far from the case. Tombstone has always been one of Peters toughest opponents over the years, Tombstone has never made any of their fights an easy affair especially with his borderline indestructible skin.
If anything Tombstone was the one who got nerfed in this story because Peter was actually able to draw blood with his punches, something Peter can't normally do even at his best.

I've read books where Spiderman fought the Hulk. Spiderman didn't win but he did put up a decent fight. Has Tombstone ever been stronger than Spiderman? I know that Spiderman plays around with his opponents too much but he just took a beatdown in this one. The fight made no sense to me. However I don't know what any of us can do about the outcome.

I can’t believe Peter got nerfed this badly thanks to Zeb Wells’ awful run. This is the same character who beat Carnage/Norman Osborn while protecting two kids with his bare hands in the last run, went 1v1 against Morlun (who killed multiple alternate Spider-People) twice, survived getting the crap beaten out of him by a phoenix powered Colossus and Magik while making jokes at them, lasted two weeks being buried alive in a coffin by Kraven and can lift up to 10 tons according to the main Marvel site (which is almost as much as a tank)
Don't forget in the ultimate comics Peter at *15* years old was strong enough to whoop all of the sinister 6 at the same time with a bullet in his chest
He only lost the fight cause they dragged it on literally all day so he was fighting from Sun rise till nightfall

@@hugzar9797 Tombstone fights on an entirely different level than Fisk, Peter has to hold back significantly in order to not hurt him too badly, Tombstone on the other hand is so tough that Peters punches can't even scratch him and end up causing more damage to Peter than Tombstone.
Also Fisk beating Dr. Doom was one of the biggest outliers in comic history, up there with Spiderman somehow beating Firelord of all people one on one.

Spidey wasn't begging for his life, he was desperately trying to stall Tombstone from the massacre. Spidey's strength has varied over time while Tombstone's has never been specified. His durability however, is another thing. Tombstone's durability allows him to endure dmg from Spidey. I guess this is the 10 ton Spidey here bcuz of the hydraulic press(chain metal had to be titanium). Tuff for Spidey to deal with the hydraulic press while getting hit by Tombstone.

This is AMAZING. You know, I've been a superhero fan for years and really want to get into the comics...but I'm the type of person who needs to hear the voices of the characters, sound effects and music to be engaged. For that reason, I've always loved motion comics, but those are few and far between. What you're doing is GENIUS - you're basically making condensed motion comics with narration, using more modern issues. I can see this is made with immense care and respect for the source material, especially in terms of the editing and voice acting. You're doing God's work, my friend, spreading awareness of these often-overlooked stories. Channels like yours are definitely going to aid the comic book industry and let people know just how great a lot of the books are. Judging by how well manga and anime have done, I can't help but feel Marvel and DC would be doing far better if they just adapted these stories word-for-word like anime does for manga. If Invincible is any indication, faithful adaptations can be successful and lucrative. Oh, and you earned a subscription from me. I'd like to see you do even more of these types of videos in the future.

I would imagine that did put much more strain on his muscles and bones than hug from Tombstone and he did not break back then. Bro. This is WILD. There are different levels of genius. Sure you can build web shooters or design a super suit or know every fighting technique in modern civilization. But can you properly run NYC’s criminal underbelly? It’s so wild. Never knew Tombstone was like this. Thanks for the video.
I actually quite like this story, and I think that people should really think of this as a stand-alone story rather than something in continuity. Here we have a version of Spiderman that's more of a neighborhood-level hero again, and where fighting the overwhelming odds of the entire criminal underworld is brutal and comes at great personal cost (similar to season 1 of the Daredevil TV show). On the other hand, we have a version of Tombstone that is far more powerful and menacing than some C-tier criminal goon, which is again something that I enjoy in general (when a villain-of-the-week type character is made into a serious threat). The bait-and-switch that Tombstone pulled at the end was really clever, and the ending really has this film noir-type feeling of how the dark side of any city will always exist in the shadows, and trying to fight against it will only leave you more jaded and broken than before.
The writers: So how should we make Peter's life even worse than it already is? We already made his girlfriend cheat on him, all of his loved ones dead and making him suffer and depress for years. What about we nerf him so bad that he couldn't even fight street city level gangster while begging for his life?
