    See scene 0:15-0:20. The shadow detail on the Avatar's face is much better on the C2. NOTE: Both TV's were set to DEFAULT filmmaker mode for parity sake.

    Very similar overall. more depth and 3d pop and color on the C1. The c2 is definitely brighter and probably doesn't look as washed out on video.
    The motion looks a little better on the film maker mode too on the C2.
    (I own a c1, I use custom motion anyway, can't handle "cinematic movement" on the C1. Still too much judder for my tastes.)

    To my eye it's a draw. Both tv's look unreal in that trailer and jaw dropping. Gonna have to play this on my C1 because this is the first time that I have seen this new trailer for the upcoming Avatar. But again for me it's a draw between the 2 sets. LG has done a great job on the C2.

    Hey, had a question about the C2 chip. I got my c2 42" and while I'm happy with it, the color shifting, and the huge amount of blue tint on one side (the left, seen this a lot on reviews) has me looking at the c1 48" to save some cash.
    I really don't know what these TVs are capable of down the road in firmware updates, but is it possible the newer chip in the c2s, along with the full 48gbps, will allow it certain features down the road the c1 is incapable of? I'm struggling with downgrading to the c1, testing the c2 48"( 42" is nice, but I think i can do 48", hence c1 is appealing for size/$ )
    Also, last question. Is it expected the c2 42" will get the EX panel sometime? Mine appears to be the older wbe, I'm wondering if it's just a waiting game to see if people start getting them in it.
    Thanks

    • @steadychaosproductions3376
      @steadychaosproductions3376  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, all C2s will get .EX panels after Q2 this year.
      I dont have color shifting on my C2, but this can be a panel lottery issue. That said, having full hdmi 2.1 bandwidth isn't going to make any difference in image quality on the C2 since the C2 isnt only a 10 bit panel.
      I suspect with future firmware updates the C2 may get slightly better, but i wouldn't expect major changes.

      @@steadychaosproductions3376 Damn I don't know what to do. I'm not sure if I lost the lottery or what. I seen the blue shift a lot on reviews, and in comments, yet no one seems bothered by it or doesn't have it. It's only on white screen, but the left is so much.
      I appreciate the reply/info. I got a good amount of time to return and try again.

      yeah. Shadow detail and overall detail are better on C2. Brightness seems a tad better on C2 as well.

  • @TueenTuo
    @TueenTuo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If you want more vibrancy, color volume, highlight impact, and shadow detail, then go for the C2. If you like better depth, contrast, (realistic) colors, sharpness, and overall detail, then go with the C1. The C1 has slightly tighter contrast and more highlight detail. In fact, there's no denying this no matter how bad your C1 happens to be, you're getting a better television. It's just too bad that they did not improve things, but then again, they really couldn't improve much of anything. The only thing they can do with OLED now is make it brighter and try to add more color volume. This ends up being a waste of time and money, especially with newer technology on the rise. Oh well, there's always next year, and we will have to wait and see for sure. FYI: Just saying that the settings are the same does not mean that they are. Some televisions simply look better, need a calibration, or require extra settings. It really depends and is not one-to-one. This is the problem that most "tv experts" never explain.

    • @steadychaosproductions3376
      @steadychaosproductions3376  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i find my C2 is better in nearly every area compared to my C1.

    • @TueenTuo
      @TueenTuo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To each their own, but when doing comparisons in dark areas, you're displaying the biggest differences between the C1 and C2. Even then, the C1 holds up well and gives you more overall depth and contrast, especially in a bright scene with dark elements. In my opinion, this is what OLED is all about. This, at least to me, means that the C1 still holds up better overall, at least in my opinion. If anything, the C1 looks better in brighter scenes overall, even if you get more color saturation and brightness on the C2 in some areas. When you're doing this, at least with shadow detail, there is a risk of losing depth, overall. This is not really a problem for me, and the "new processor" has little to do with the improved saturation, especially when compared to my C1 in particular. It boils down to brightness mostly, but even then, color volume has relational value to brightness. If it's brighter, it can then lose color volume, but with my C1, this is not a problem. It can depend on your particular television, and a C1 can look better than a C2 if it's calibrated or has a slightly better panel -- close comparison. In the end, it does not always mean that it looks better, and it can also boil down to personal preference and discrepant variability. You can always adjust settings as well, at least to match them a little bit better; this is something you may have to do for either television. Even if the C2 preserves more color volume, it is not always more realistic or better. Also, even if you can take it further, there are downsides that need to be considered. Meeting in the middle is all they need to do, but it needs not be justified. This possibly increased color volume is great and an advantage, but not really, especially if it is not done right or calibrated/processed properly. A calibration can change the game, and the C2's color volume is only slightly fuller on average, but it tends to worsen the picture and go away with calibration. This makes them about even, and with the other problems with the C2, which are not really problems, the downgrades become even more apparent. This only goes to show that the C1 has better processing overall. If your C1 tends to get brighter, then you will end up getting all of the benefits from both sets (minus a little color volume and shadow detail). In the end, these things do not matter much and can be adjusted on both models, so most of it comes down to calibration. The C2 just took too many things out that cannot be added or taken away. The C1 does tend to be sharper (with or without settings like "super resolution" on) and more detailed overall, but the C2 gives you slightly brighter/more defined shadow detail overall. This slight reduction in overall sharpness is a side effect of their focus and/or the actual parameters that they have changed or "improved" this year, but the difference is not night and day. They decided to change things up a little, but I still prefer the C1 overall, small differences or not. These differences are still worth pointing out, especially when you are buying a new television and have to consider what others are saying. You can end up saving money when buying the better television. The price makes it even more appealing, but they are running low on C1 stock, so it will be a relic of the forbidden past at some point. Although there is a small difference, the difference is in favor of the C1. I know that you might disagree, but this is my subjective opinion based on objective facts. You may get slightly better upscaling on the C2 in SD content with the Ai Picture Pro -- the newer processing -- turned on, but everything else is just a C1 with repackaged limitations based on the software restrictions and an added refresh cycle for pixel preservation. Regardless, does this mean that the C2 does not look better? No, but it really does not look better to me. The only difference is software released brightness and a marginally unnecessary need to change the refresh cycle on the television. It's a lot to take in, but I can add even more. This is about as concise as I can be, so apologies for the dissertation anyway. This is what I do, and there is very little that I can do about my OCD and writing habits. Anyway, that's all I really need to say, so have fun reading the whole damn thing. It only took me about 15 minutes to write and edit, but then again, that's not really relevant, right? Anyway, thanks!
