My local pc store has their own line of pre-builts that use non-proprietary parts that are cheaper than it would be to buy the individual parts as they are sponsored by PC brands. The high-end coolermaster pre-built I got had an 850 watt psu and 32GBs of 6000MT/s DDR5 to complement the 14600KF and RTX 4080. They did not skimp on any parts. It even had every fan slot on a full-tower case filled in, including a 3-slot coolermaster AIO.
@@T.Lspitz This is in Australia. It's a PC store franchise called Umart. It has in-person stores but are only click and collect or delivery so there only needs to be one person at each location. @@StrykerEXE Same. I can get 2 hour same-day delivery on most things they sell. I recently got a 4K monitor that was $150 off. They have really good sales.
I got an older alienware r11 that had the same issue of not having heatsinks on the VRM'S so i bought some on ebay for like $6 plus a 120mm AIO cooler for the 10th gen intel I7 cpu and a 2nd intake fan for the front for a total of less than $50. Made a huge difference.
Lol because of one of your videos I installed a turn key ignition switch as the power button on my old antec case with my 10th gen EVGA test bench build in it. Something about inserting a key and turning it to power on my computer is so satisfying 😌 lol
The CPU utilization can say "100 percent" while still being throttled by the motherboard VRMs. You really should have used a laser thermometer or something to check the temps of the VRMs while under load, if the board doesn't have sensors on it.
You placed the VRM heatsinks on the coils of them not mosfets so they won't cool mosfets (the black chips next to the coils) which are going to get hot.
2:51 It kinda sucks that 4-channel DDR5 still can't be stable when at full XMP speeds. When I upgraded to 64GBs, I had to downclock to 5800MT/s and change the voltage a bit to make my pc even able to boot. And it seems Omen knows this so they made their turbo speed significantly slower than the 5600MT/s supported speed.
Update BIOS, Update Windows (or go to Linux), remove Windows components you will not be using. Update all drivers. Adjust power schemes and fan arches after boosting GPU settings. Make sure that the resolution is maxed out to meet what your monitor can do. Should be good after that.
Just FYI, the voltage driver mosfets sit next to each choke on the board. so that's where the heatsinks were needed. You unfortunately used them on the chokes. Might want to retry that test to verify if any difference is perceivable. Though I don't believe it'll make a difference with decent airflow over every SMD, so it should be fine.
6:01 I have stable diffusion, RVC and an LLM on my C drive which is 1TB and has no games on it since I have two other faster 2TB NVMe's. So I can store tonnes of image outputs, screenshots and chat logs on my C drive without ever running out.
If you have to go outside of the cpu caches and hit RAM, you are pretty much screwed no matter what the RAM clockspeed. So, upgrading the RAM speed is a waste of time for the most part.
One problem with the Ryzen 8700G is it's limiting in the PCIE bandwidth as a result of radeon 780M igpu that ate x8 lanes which only spared for the gpu the rest of PCIe 4.0x8, which for a 4080 Super is going to operate half of the performance which is severely bottlenecked
I had an omen pc and I wanted to upgrade the case bc I thought theirs looked fugly (30l case) so it was simple, as someone with the knowledge to build a pc like me, all I needed was a SCALPEL for some zipties (it was THAT BAD) I had to go through every part of the case, the back panel was so tight, the wifi card was unable to be removed without taking out the receivers but the mobo already had better wifi so I just said f it and yanked it out, storage was left almost impossible to get out because it was sata and in these funky ass containers that make it so you cant put it in another case's bays, the psu was stuck inside because it had a clip put into it that very tightly connected it to the case, and after all of that, I found out that the fan mounting was these goofy ahh brackets overr the already existing ones, so I took those out, then the fans inside of them, and didn't use them anyways because they kinda sucked.

they are NOT VRM heatsinks. They are old school memory heatsinks for DIY GPU cooling soloutions.
heatsinks for raspberry pi 3b+

not 4 channel, it's still dual channel, but two dimms per channel
that are not the mosfets.. that are the coils they do not need cooling. the black small squares are the mosfets that need cooling!!
