@@TacoedBars I bought a 7 for the colorway and upgraded most components on it. I posted a few videos on it. I think I bought a size too large and sold the frame for an Ibis DV9.
@@TacoedBars just the beginning...1 year and you are going to be looking for abfull suspension bike...5 years more and you will start getting picky on frames, Parts and brands
I got my Roscoe 7 a few months ago, going from a bmx, it felt huge, I had a hard time hopping it, and it felt really chonky, but after a few weeks of riding, the bearings loosened up, I understood the bikes balances, can get decent hops in now. It's so much fun to ride now, enjoy!
Nice, I was about to buy the 7 before I saw the 8! I used to ride bmx 11 years ago till I i got a level 2 sprained ankle. Trying the 29s right away felt huge and weird. Thanks, enjoy that Roscoe too!
Yeah the hardtail shook my bones doing downhill but I really like the simplicity of it. I'm sure when I try a FS it'll feel like a cloud haha, thank you!
2019 I bought my very first hardtail after not riding for almost a decade, my intention was stupid, I was a hardcore stoner and wanted to access my benches in the local forest faster where I always had a smoke session etc. then I met some friends there unexpectedly and after some joints we went on for a ride and we were all so stoked, it was a lot of fun, we met nearly everyday to ride and smoke. After about 2 or 3 months into mtb and a fair amount of smaller crashes and injuries and a good portion of mtb on youtube I thought that I could do a lot more stuff with a "better" bike so I went back to my dealer and they offered me to buy my hardtail back and with a bunch of extra money I could get a full suspension bike and guess what? I did that! Man I was so hyped but then the worst thing possible happened to me and it was stolen... I was hopeful police would find it but after a few weeks I knew it was stupid of me to think that so what did I do then? I saved up 1000€ for 6 months and went back to my dealer and bought a Rocky Mountain Instinct C70 and from that moment I was done for, went riding nearly every day with some friends up until I had my first big crash 2 years ago with broken bones and all that shit, had a break for almost 1,5 years but I'm finally getting into it again, slowly but steady and also with the motivation of some friends. And now I know that I'm going to purchase a Santa Cruz Megatower next year I'm so hyped up again man I can't wait to ride next year, idk why I'm telling this story here just wanted to share and excuse my english, it's not my native language.
Thank for sharing your story! Sorry to hear about your bike getting stolen and your big wreck, broken bones sound like a really bad time, hopefully you're all good now! That C70 looks like a clean whip too. Its good to hear your getting back into riding after a break. Enjoy that the Megatower once you get it and ride safe out there! 🤙
I've been mountain biking a ton this summer and am still too scared to jump like you... Getting there though. Part of the problem is the jumps around me are either too big and scary, or too small
Honestly, I was scared of jumps and drops for a couple of weeks too (I still am)-I kept feeling like I was going to go over the bars or lose balance in the air! But on one of my last runs, I just sent it and landed a clean jump, the one at the end of the video. I came back the next week, hit the same jump eight more times, and only almost went over twice, haha. It felt great, and after slowing down the fork rebound, I wasn’t going over the bars as much! Watching @TheLoamRanger's video on how to stand through jumps helped a lot too. Good luck out there and ride safe!
@@TacoedBars "You gotta stand up to the jump" actually made a big difference for me. I spent a couple hours at a small table top and am feeling way more confident now. Even went on some steeper jumps afterword and wasn't confident, but I also wasn't way outside my skill level. Hopefully a few more sessions will help me solidify the skill!
I had a nice wipeout at Northstar and instantly went home and ordered Assegai and DHR II in MaxGrip, they've been great and the bike comes tubeless. Thanks for tips!
Buying a Hardtail is just the beginning Upgrading its components is the hardest part😢😅 Goodluck to your journey on a new hobby, you'll definitely like it in the long run -Hardtail Rider here 😗
Nice Bike BUT you dont need a Carbon Bar, especially not if you're a beginner. Get yourself a propper wheelset, a four piston break, a dropper post and you are good to go. Weight does not matter, so why would you get a Carbon Bar? As a beginner you wont have much of a benefit of getting carbon Parts. -most of the time, its just a marketing thing.
We have no doubt you'll be hooked. Welcome to the Trek family!🤝
See you on the trails!
No way, it's Trek! Already hooked and excited to be a part of the family! 🤝 See you out there!
Roscoe 8! Hell yeah!

Idk now, after doing some downhill riding its given more adrenaline thanks bikes haha!
This hobby is gonna turn into an addiction within a year. From now on it's all downhill.
Agreed Haha! I've already been looking at upgrading the front fork, Bars, Etc. for fun ever since I bought it

Hardtails are the pinnacle of MTBing. Yes full sus are faster and more comfortable but HT are just so freaking fun and simple. Congrats.
Couldn’t agree with you more!

I see a Roscoe, I click
Now I know LTT likes Hardtails haha!

I was going to get a Roscoe 7, but i stumbled upon a brand new Specialized Fuse Sport at my bike shop. $2400 bike, and I got it for $1100!!
It always nice to get a great deal, especially at ~54% discount! Enjoy that Fuse!

I would suggest spending money on changing the tires first. Of course with tubeless setup if you haven't done that already.

I was told to get OneUp carbon riser bars. I went with the Spank Spoon 38mm risers. 1/4 the price. And sturdy aluminum construction.
Thanks for the tips!
It seems to be already equipped with a dropper post.
