Have you had a chance to ride the Winsor trail down from Ski Santa Fe?
@@panchochris1823 Not yet, there are so many trails in Northern NM. Also, I wanted to get a little more practice before hitting some of the faster downhill stuff.
Hit me up if you ever ride the Placitas open space. The trails there are allot of fun and are not crazy challenging.
@@panchochris1823 is that the figure 8 trail on south side 165? I am new to mtb but have had great fun at pine flat in Tijeras.
The 8 mile loop is the best way to hit placitas, but there are so many trails it is pretty cool. I'm fairly new to mtb as well. I've had my fair share of crashes this year.
The Marlin 6 is great for the price. It's under 900 and the Roscoe is like 1700. That's a huge difference.
It's so funny. When you hit those rock drops with the fork locked I thought "Man! That sounds bad!' and lo and behold, the fork was locked. LOL. I did an entire run at Maryland mtn from the top of Fast Money all the way down to the bottom or Millsite and was like "Dammit! I need to have this rear shock serviced again!". Nope. Just need to unlock it. DERP. Happens to the best of us.

If your looking for a new hardtail look at the giant fathom line i think you’d like it. It’s kind of like the giant equivalent to the Roscoe
I sat on and rode a Marlin 5 in Lithium Grey round the bike shop car park yesterday. Seems really nice. I also looked at the Roscoe 8 I think which was next to it on the rack in the store. The Roscoe is significantly beefier and chunkier in all aspects. But it should be, for 4x the price of the Marlin haha. Really nice bikes and really nice video dude.

A lot will also depend on the nature of the trail That park looked hard packed (similar to asphalt) and the pump track looked to be asphalt. That should favor the Marlin. The bigger differences would be on tech trails with loose dirt, roots, some drops and small jumps (favoring the Roscoe). Regardless, great content and thanks for the video.
I wonder if (we) could put skinnier faster rolling tires on the Roscoe?
