Yeah I was like that for a while, then realized I wasn't watching any movies as I listened to all the worst reviews. Then I remembered that I like movies and decided to think for myself. If a movie looks good I watch it and make up my own mind. I really enjoyed this movie. I'm glad I watched it. Great night out with the family.
In the DC movies, Wonder Woman is literally the daughter of Zeus. The movie is about the staff containing the powers of the gods, which the daughters of Atlas are angry about because they claim that the wizard Shazam stole Atlas' powers and they want those powers back (because that power is their birthright). So, they're trying to take all the Shazam powers back by using the staff. In the end, Billy sacrifices himself by overcharging the staff so that it explodes (while being contained inside a magic dome so nobody else will get hurt). And this turns him from superhero form back to regular (dead) Billy. Well, as the daughter of Zeus, Wonder Woman can refill the staff with god powers (apparently, you only need one of the six letters in SHAZAM, I guess). So, now the staff has the power of Zeus. So, that causes dead Billy to become an alive superhero again (it's not clear if he would turn back into a dead Billy or a living Billy, but nobody seems to think about that).

Usually I kind of get sick of some youtube channels, when they use the same formula over and over. With this one I feel I'm enjoying even more. You nail EVERY video, they always crack me up.
It’s because even though the formula is the same; he adds nuance and subtlety to each one that makes it seem fresh. Like the addition of calling the rock or like in inception where the changes to the background in the middle of the conversation. Those things breathe life into each pitch meeting. Each time you watch one it feels new and familiar.
@CatHulu I wouldn't really recommend it unless you like to see action and explosions. The reason I loved the first one was because of the foster family plotline. Billy and Freddy's actors had great chemistry but they cut down a lot on Billy's screen time. Zachary Levi has somehow gotten more childish even though he's playing an even older Billy. It's so disappointing.
I appreciate that the big city wide CG battle at the end had multiple monsters from Greek mythology and wasn't just a bunch of nameless faceless copy-paste 'creatures'. Manticores, harpies, minotaur, cyclops and unicorns were all depicted, and that was a pretty cool scene to me
Ironically, if there was more than one minotaur or more than 2, 3 or 4 harpies, those monsters are copy paste as there was exactly 1 minotaur and sources vary on how many harpies, originally 2, Roman guy invented a third, another Greek guy added a fourth. While we're at it, manticores are Persian not Greek.
Really lacked something when they specifically made a point of not showing anyone actually being killed! All these monsters running amok and just knocking people around rather than you know EATING THEM!
2:09 it's like they thought about how weird the ethics of the relationship in Wonder Woman 1984 was, and thought, "Maybe if we're self-aware it'll be considered funny instead?"

So many subtle one liners in this one. You've really turned this format into gold.
Can't get enough "Hey shut up!". You just made my day screenwriter guy
I love this channel. It's saved me many hours of bad movie viewings.
Truly grateful.
@@mariposa9506 Yeah, it was even better than the first one. AND the young godess in her hot pants was easy on the eyes.
Not watching a movie but opening the Pitch Meeting anyway is tight!
Super tight
This is how I've experienced every superhero movie in the last decade lol
It's only a "spoiler" if one actually plans to waste their time, energy, and money to watch the show !
Save Your Money !
Don't Go To The Show !
But shazam 2 is fun tho unlike superhero movie this days
This pitch meeting was truly one of the finest ones he’s ever made. On fire 🔥 always love them
"What's her safe word?"
"What?"
"WHAT?"
The face he's making is unbelievably adorable 🥰
The end of that pitch meeting, as someone who hasn’t seen the movie, has me so bewildered that I’m actually stunned
Wonder Woman does what?
Wonder Woman lays her hands on a wizard’s staff and Billy rises
It’s called the power of bad writing.
@@Goldarlives LMAO!!
@@SimonMoon5 sean are you the creator of this awful movie?
These Pitch Meetings never miss. It doesn't matter what movie it covers I find myself laughing everyime! Please keep them coming.
Once again screen rant, we understand that you have to get sponsor for your video and why wouldn't we love to support our favourite content creator.
Like others have mentioned, dont let the ad get disrupt the flow of pitch meeting.
Subscribing once again, as you have taken down the video ✌️
Don't listen to these bums who complain about free videos. Put in more ads and make more money for yourself, Ryan 👍
I love the way you're having skits inside the skits almost. Its a cool way to stay fresh and ads another level of comedy to the whole video. I was going to ask in a Q/A video if you put any thought into new catchphrases or mannerisms and I didn't even think about editing. Can't wait for the new DCEU and all of the sketches that come with that :)
The Baby Yoda sketch in the Mandalorian Pitch Meeting was hilarious!
Hahaha the "the Rock and his jungle movies" bit is pretty classic. 😂
Honestly, you paint such a vivid picture, it's like I don't even have to go to the movies ❤
The film industry should have Ryan do all the visual descriptions for the visually impaired. But in character as Screenwriter Guy.
The skittles part killed me. Love these pitch meetings.
Usually I kind of get sick of some youtube channels, when they use the same formula over and over. With this one I feel I'm enjoying even more. You nail EVERY video, they always crack me up.
It's one of those rare channels where I click the like button as soon as the video starts to play.
I just binged the entire backlog... The repetition was so soothing somehow
Ryan's ability to save us both time and money is unmatched. 👍
I'd actually recommend it though. It's a very fun film.
It's weird, though. With the spoilers, you have to decide the movie's bad before seeing the pitch meeting
@@muskyoxes the tomatometer score gives that away pretty quick
@@FatherDragonKal You mean the audience’s 87%? Please don’t tell me you put any stock into the critics scores.
Producer guy's face after "what's the safe word" is TIGHT 🤣
Just loved Producer Ryan's eyes when he did the skittles remarks. He really lights up there. Anybody else notice that?
I appreciate that the big city wide CG battle at the end had multiple monsters from Greek mythology and wasn't just a bunch of nameless faceless copy-paste 'creatures'. Manticores, harpies, minotaur, cyclops and unicorns were all depicted, and that was a pretty cool scene to me
Ironically, if there was more than one minotaur or more than 2, 3 or 4 harpies, those monsters are copy paste as there was exactly 1 minotaur and sources vary on how many harpies, originally 2, Roman guy invented a third, another Greek guy added a fourth.
While we're at it, manticores are Persian not Greek.
unicorns are Scottish
@@igrim4777they played heroes of might and magic)
Really lacked something when they specifically made a point of not showing anyone actually being killed!
All these monsters running amok and just knocking people around rather than you know EATING THEM!
@@franohmsford7548 i remember like one person getting stabbed and another one getting dropped from like 4 storys up.
4:30 That was actually explained in the movie. Billy sent her one of those paper birds, explaining what was going on.
I see
2:09 it's like they thought about how weird the ethics of the relationship in Wonder Woman 1984 was, and thought, "Maybe if we're self-aware it'll be considered funny instead?"
3:39 I haven't seen this movie yet. But is that Skittle line real....?
Yep
@@freya2093 uhhhhhh... Okay then.
Absolute top-tier pitch meeting!
Why pay to endure hours of boredom when you have this channel to turn it into a piece of joy, short and free ?
Thank you and keep up the good work, you are way more entertaining than Hollywood could ever be these days 😉
That's really shortsighted
It’s necessary to give Ryan the source material to craft his vision. No movie to make fun of = no Pitch Meeting.
Everything he said is accurate but the movie was still a really fun watch. If Shazam were a little less corny and the main protagonists not an old lady and not as old but not as good of an actor Lucy Liu this would have done much better.
@@mariospeedwagen
All movies have their publics, even the worse ones (talking in general, not Shazam 2), and that's fine, If you enjoyed it, good for you, I personnaly don't plan to watch it, too many stuff on my list now 🙂
@@victorfatalys1076 Shazam 2 is a pretty good superhero movie. No one would care about the shenanigans if it was rubbish. It's well worth watching if you have 3 hours to spare. It's got flaws but there hasn't been a better superhero movie released in the last few years.
3:20 “The good guys have to run around…”. And the writer guy mimics running around 😂
Whoa... just had this nightmare where Pitch Meetings reuploaded the Toy Story video with an egregious ad sandwiched in. Glad that wasn't real. XD
So much Ryan coming our way right now it feels like he should be pitching Everything Everywhere All At Once soon.
When watching the movie live, I was 100% sure bringing Billy back to life was going to be the "Barely an inconvenience" part. I laughed in the theater thinking it would show up here! 🤣🤣🤣
I was hoping there would be at least some side effect of being dead for a while, like amnesia or reduced/eliminated abilities - SOMETHING to make the sacrifice actually a sacrifice. But no, Wonder Woman brings him back and all is a-okay. To quote Moe, "When my face was crushed, why did it go back to my old face? Shouldn't it have turned into some kind of third face that was different? Don't make no-"
I thought it would be trying to get the staff back from the sisters... they kinda just played catch with the thing, and when they felt like it decided to use their super speed to get it back
@@calmbbaer i wish they had made a joke on the superman resurrection. would have been hilarious. like his clothes were all black, but its just dirt or something
I literally just finished watching this movie just so that I could finally watch this video.Wasn't disappointed, though this Pitch Meeting could easily have been twice as long.
The Skittles segment! Comedy gold, had me laughing at work! 😂😂😂... ummm... that doesn't really happen in the movie, right? 😭😭😭
Yes basically exactly how he described it
Yes, exactly how it happened.
it does happen
Yes. They say unicorns are the deadliest, most feared creatures out there, and that they hate humans. Even the CGI monsters allegedly fear them. But all it takes to win their favor is a handful of Skittles thrown at them by the little Black girl.
@@WorthlessDeadEnd
Thrown in slow motion with an ASMR whisper of “taste the rainbow”.

3:24 oh my god that Skittles bit was a masterpiece 😂😂😂
Ryan never disappoints.
Eh, I’m more of a George fan
Big thanks for confirming where Louie was in the picture. Given your acting skills, I really wasn't sure about it 😂
Everyone came to this video to complain about that ad in toy story. Very funny.
“No, yeah we can shoot something in the jungle soon!” Just imagining Dwayne very excitedly asking about filming in a jungle
I do like that Wonder Woman using bad writing to develop new and convenient powers stayed canon after WW84.
"Yes, and about a week after I learned I could turn things invisible, I discovered necromancy!"
4:28
Well, she was busy.
She must have learned it from raping that guy whose body was taken over by her dead boyfriend. Whoopsie! 🤓
She should have used that to bring back superman then.
Lazy writing + no respect for audience.
It makes sense. She wants to raise Chris Pine from the dead. But she needs to test it on someone else first, in case her powers might make him come back looking less hot. Then, why bother, you know?
is there a chance to make longer pitch meetings? like around 8 to 10 minutes? I was enjoying the video so much that in the end I was like "I wish there was more of this video"
Agree. There was so much more content to make fun of in this movie. I was really disappointed that the pitch meeting was so short.
That moment when the pitch meeting will become more successful than the film itself.
"what's her safe word? What? What?" - Almost turned into a fifty shades of grey pitch meeting
Those subtle, unnoticed jokes are tight!
Yep, that ad placement is the opposite of subtle
Making a pitch meeting for the Amazon show "The Boys" is super easy, barely an inconvenience. You should do it
Maybe a pitch per season?
@@Dan55888 👍 Exactly.
Don't think he could even discuss that without getting demonetized
“Wow I love this Superman he’s the best!”
“Sir he’s supposed to be the bad guy.”
“Whoops”
“Whoopsies!”
that would make him the real hero
1:09 That terrified face looking averting eye contact staring into the abyss. I love it.
I've watched tons of those, but this is one of the best you ever made 😁😁😁😁😁
4:54 aww that's awesome!

"I'm gonna spoil that in the trailer" is the funniest thing I've ever heard come out of Ryans mouth
Even incorporating the Dwayne Johnson DC hierarchy 🤣 incredible Ryan
Well he wasn't wrong
I love pitch meetings for mediocre movies that I'm not excited about - That way I can spoil the movie by watching the pitch meeting the second it drops! 😅😊
Exactly. Otherwise I got to wait about 6 months before it comes out on streaming. I can watch this one now because I don't care
Only a Spoiled POS would enjoy spoiling movies for others. Do the world a favor and never have kids. The world doesn't need another Spoiled POS
I think the movie itself was fun, specially if you already like the characters from the first movie
Gods, yes. I hate it when the pitch meeting drops before I have the chance to watch the movie and I actually care about the movie. Then I have to both endure the waiting to watch the movie and the waiting to watch the pitch meeting
The movie’s actually decent
This is probably one of my favorite pitch meetings. Well... They all are, really, when I think of it. But how Ryan recites the line "Are they played by Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson??", where you can actually notice true fear in it... Pure brilliancy! 🤣Better than many professional actors!!. And the bit with the Skittles cracks me up every - single - time.
4:04 The sad part is, you really do have to specify "he dies fatally" now lol
I have watched pretty much every pitch meeting vid, and these still crack me up.... Ryan, you are the G.O.A.T.
I wasn't aware that the DCEU had any kind of cohesive structure to begin with. They kind of just went all over the place, had mid-credit sequel teasers that never followed through, made movies that didn't even seem to be part of the extended universe, and occasionally had Superman walk into frame to remind you that he exists.
Wow, wow, wow; wow! Probably the funniest pitch meeting yet. Great job!
I have never watched any superhero movies, yet I enjoy these pitch meetings so much! It’s really one of the funniest channels on youtube.

@@tibedog5629 CinemaSins doesn't actually dislike most of the movies that they sin. They generally enjoy superhero films (with the exception of 90% of MCU Phase Four, but that's a given).
