My man is so focused on staying around all the mobs to grab the exp instead of getting any resources, which are basically just levels in themselves that give more options...

Yup. He too focused on playing vampire survivors and thinking he needs to kill and be close to enemies. When he should be running around the map avoiding them and mining as much as possible. When he is standing still just killing. It hurts my soul cause he failing the fundamental part of the game that even he says he just doesn't understand.

Not to mention him wasting all his Nitra on small upgrades when each unit gives him 2% more damage across the board; 100 Nitra is +200% damage!!! He needs to optimize globally, not locally.

@@insertoyouroemail Nitra is ONLY damage when you have the artefact and it's a BAD one to pickup because it reduces speed too much. -50% speed will get you killed irrespective of how much damage you have. Now the Nitra = crit option, that is decent but still not great as crit chance is not hard to get either.

I have put over 200 hours into this game and have all meta unlocks. I have some things I've learned that I'd like to share about the game.
Tips: (Asmon will probably never read this): Hopefully some of you will and it will help :)
    1. never stop moving (with few exceptions) - the game requires you to micro adjust your position to successfully mine and avoid enemy hits, and usually the easiest way to do this is continually path through mobs and terrain without stopping (you'll notice asmon get overwhelmed and just stop a lot, this is absolutely something we all do hoping our weapons will save us, they usually won't - just keep moving unless you're cornered, and then pray to god you have flamethrowers lol)
    2. when swarms come, DIG: even if you think it won't work, different bugs path differently and you can zig zag tunnel through rock to live longer, buying your weapons more time to dispatch enemies behind you
    3. learn how your weapons work and damage aliens (this sounds dumb, but you really have to play with each one and watch how your weapons successfully kill one, two, or multiple aliens, and then you need to combine those weapons with others that do damage in different ways - some weapons fire from the back, some only from the front, some spray in a cone, some random, some on turrets that spin, etc.) - most builds require synergies and combinations of these to assemble a toolkit to handle different situations - just takes time to learn these - asmon doesn't have all that info yet and that is why the game is "harder" - the game just recently added tooltips to help players understand how each weapon works, as well as how each type of damage works (fire, cold, plasma, acid, kinetic)
    4. use terrain to your advantage: on the fire levels, walking through fire (lava) is NOT bad - it is only 2 damage which is nothing, and all mobs will avoid fire. Fire actually saves your life on these levels, and they have become the easiest ones to complete for me.
    5. the three main sources for increasing your power and survivability are a) exp b) gold and c) nitra (red boys) - they all basically "level" you - (primarily through your weapons). realizing that all three, exp gold and red boys DO the same thing is important because successful runs usually end with you maxing out at least one weapon, two if you can. The game within the game is how quickly can i get the overlocks i need to stave off all these enemies for as long as possible (meaning you actually don't want to complete the levels as quickly as you can, you actually want to "farm" for exp gold and nitra as long as you are able without dying OR killing the final boss of each stage (doing so ends the round, so you actually want to kite him and just pick up xp and resources in circular paths until he dies)
    6. Not all upgrades are created equal. In my experience, crit damage and armor are terrible investments. EXP (rare or better) is a great investment in the early rounds (1-3 probably) and heath is ok throughout, but weapon upgrades are usually best. Some pickup radius can be helpful but I generally won't take this over a weapon upgrade unless its epic (or rare if the other options are awful). The "cosmetic" upgrades that raise the level of your weapon by two (rare) or three (epic) DO nothing to increase fire rate, reload speed or damage, but they CAN be a great way to get to the overlocks, so you need to be careful and plan when you use them. Strategic use of gold to reroll upgrades is good, but should be VERY rare because you're essentially spending half of what an upgrade would cost in the shop if you can finish the run (there are absolutely times that you want to skip all 3 offerings though, so you shouldn't be afraid to do this when needed, especially if you get 3 common options (gray) - like if they were common health crit damage and crit chance that's almost always a reroll for me)
    7. Weapon synergies are important, you want one big kinetic weapon to break up those massive swarms (the axe is great for this, some of the grenades are good as well but you need to experiment with your favorites to figure out what works with your playstyle), you probably want one acid weapon as it applies a debuff that increases damage from all sources (in my experience more that one acid weapon is bad), fire is great, the burning just stacks and stacks, you probably can't have too much fire, cold is pretty weak but one cold weapon is ok if you're having issues with your micro (which can absolutely happen at later difficulty).
    8. Leveling up during each stage RESTORES HEALTH (they don't tell you this anywhere in the game, at least to my knowledge). So when things look really bad, you can kamikaze dive into a bunch of xp and it will often save your life. Also there is a small knockback when you level up, pushing enemies away from you, so if you think you're toast, don't be afraid to jump through a wall of death for a level up as it might save your life.
    9. Incoming damage sources are WILDLY varied. As noted before fire/lava does 2 damage, so walk through it all you want (almost, haha) but the pink floating globs of spit done by medium size bugs have some of the highest damage in the game. As a rule, smaller bugs typically do smaller damage. Watch those red numbers. Sometimes you will simply HAVE TO take damage, but you can usually choose which source you take it from (different mobs, one of their projectiles, fire, etc.). Knowing which ones hit harder is essential. Also the big fire bomb bugs will explode if you simply get close enough to them, so if your micro is good enough, you can get close, back away quickly, and nuke a big group to clear a quick path you can dive through if things are looking really bad.
    10. The Driller is one of the easiest classes to play if you understand him. Use his "foreman" class (the default you will have when you unlock him). He's a super-miner. He gets +50% mining speed after about 4 seconds of mining time, making him the fastest miner in the game that can tunnel away from aliens with no problems the entire game. He's kinda broken and probably needs a nerf. I actually used him to unlock almost ALL the meta upgrades because he can mine those rare rocks about twice as fast as any other player. His playsyle is a little different and you need to realize this. He's going to get less kills at the beginning stages because he's a miner, but he makes up for that by being able to get TWO to FIVE times the gold and nitra others can get because he's so fast at mining, so just do the math - he gets WAY more upgrades because he's getting 2-5x TWO of the three leveling resources (gold and nitra, but less exp). Bottom line, I've killed the dreadnaught (final boss on level five) with the Driller at level 60 where I've had other characters reach the same stage around only level 40-45. How much easier is it to kill the last boss with 10-20 more levels? WAY easier. So yeah, use the driller, unlock the meta unlocks so you get more movement speed, damage, health regen, etc. and go to town!
SAMPLE BUILD: A really cool build that works for new players with the driller is his base weapon (Subata I20, which is actually an amazing gun fully upgraded because it fires from his butt as he's mining so it literally covers your ass), + flamethrower (probably the best weapon in the game, you also want to fully upgrade this if possible), kinetic axe (synergizes like crazy with the flamethrower and his base weapon because flamethrower is great aoe, his base weapon is high damage single target, and kinetic is massive splash damage with an explosion), and if you're lucky, you couple that with an acid weapon (sludge pump is probably best) so it debuffs the aliens and makes them take more fire damage from the flamethrowers. Lastly (hopefully this isn't overwhelming), you DO want those weapons IN THAT ORDER because you NEED to get the flamethrower upgraded pretty high for this to be effective, and if you get it as your third or fourth option, your upgrade choices will be "watered down" with the other weapons you have, so you'll see less opportunities to get it upgraded, and you will be in a later stage in the game, ALSO giving you less time to get those upgrades locked in before the critical fifth stage.

For someone who cleared the whole game, i gotto say Pick up radius is the best upgrade in the game by FAR! I tend to pick the green > all blue upgrades and the blue pick up > all epics and sometimes even legendaries. You will notice clearly when you dont need more, however having a decent amount is like increasing the levels you get x3 in a run.
At early levels you always want to get obj>nitra>gold. So you can just skip trying to kill mobs and focus on mining more or less whole early game untill u done a lapse through whole map.
At stage 1-2 sometimes 3 you should always take obj as soon as possible. I still think chance to mine the nitra and the gold are the best obj bonus upgrades in game, as these lets you snowball in shop so much! If you look how you play on the last stages when you run around trying to dodge things, try to play like that from first go and only focus on getting minning and game will be so much more fun/easy in the long run!

    • @sleepysaur.
      @sleepysaur. 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@prophecygg5826 Sure luck is fine, but i don't think it matters that much, i also think legendaries is very often bait. The epic + 3 weapon is better then 50% reload speed for example. Getting the overcloaks fast ensures you will have an easier time to work on minning more safetly. It also helps you buy more stuff in the shop. As for the shop, i do roll quiet a lot, trying to get the blue +2 level to overclock faster and spending all my nitra.
The most fun you can have is going driller getting mine speed up and having x2 of getting materials when mining. Some runs where im x2 gold when mining, i've gotten around 200 in 1 level. Which just lets you max up so much things. When it comes to weapons. Last set up for scout and gunner is prolly the best. The cryo grenade and seismic repulsor are really op. For your third or 4th wep you always want it to be one of thoose preferibly or something like a knock back. Exp gain is also very strong to get!

Loving the content, but you're missing some key priorities for good runs:
    1. Always be mining. Kite to new areas, not ones you already mined. Kite through the mobs for XP right after you detonate one of the yellow bugs, not after 10 of them, which takes too long.
    2. Always be mining. If the bugs are up your ass, mine through some stone to make space and then get back to the MINERALS - they are the only thing that accumulate between runs.
    3. Always be mining - as the maintenance worker subclass, only choose turrets and other constructs, mine AFK, let the turrets work, kite through stone if overwhelmed.
    4. Always be mining - faster - the driller is better than you think, because minerals. It's less damage than engineer, but you can kite through rock even better.
    5. Always be mining. You are not getting paid to kill bugs, except for loot bugs. This is why driller is great; you can completely ignore the bugs by kiting through stone.
    6. Kill the boss with supply drop damage and/or yellow bug bursts - you're mostly lacking in the latter, as well as using these to blow up the swarms.

    • @lukecreamer8426
      @lukecreamer8426 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Oh, and your level up priorities are pretty nuts. You should be taking the highest rarity bonus most of the time unless it doesn't synergize at all.
Luck and XP gain are the best early and garbage late, move speed is as good as damage, and mining speed is best on every class vs any other upgrade of the same rarity.

I "finished" the game at around 70 hours played (with some 20-30% AFK Time) with all weapons unlocked, all challenges done and all upgrades done. Hazard 5 of Magma Core is insanely difficult (especially the level 60 with Demolitionist challenge - this took like easily 30 tries+). I personally think the classes and weapons are still very unbalanced (Foreman, Juggernaut and Scout are 100% better due to their defensive ability; Foreman due to mining away) - which is fine, it is early access.
    - Looking forward to new biomes, weapons and classes
    - According to the devs they plan to make the small flying Bot upgradeable as well
    - Would be cool to have more interesting over clocking options instead of the usual damage conversions and large upgrades like "+25% fire rate, +25% reload speed"
    Couple of tips:
    - Mine, mine, mine, especially for gold and nitra
    - Do the side objective(s)
    - Don't immediatly kill the boss(es), kite around and try to kill as much stuff as possible, also gather the ressources!
    - The Juggernaut (Gunner) and the Recon (scout) are 100% more forgiving than the other classes due to their defensive capabilities, use those if you struggle to finish a dive
    - Use the Foreman (Driller) for material-gathering runs, it is possible to gather every single node on each stage with this guy
    - Do not underestimate pickup-radius, mining speed and movement speed - all 3 are crucial for gathering and kiting as well
    Hope that helps

It is still a rogue-lite game. The upgrade system is there for a reason and the game is designed around it. If you have 2 out of the total 12 armor upgrades, it would be stupid if the enemies in Hazard 2 or 3 did not deal "a lot" or "too much" damage. The duality between killing bugs and mining does not seem to be an issue in my opinion. Most of the weapons aim at the nearest enemy anyway. Frontal weapons compensate it by the raw firepower and driller's base weapon is even shooting behind, because you are expected to drill into walls - funneling enemies behind your back. The lower spawn rate of magnets (compared to the demo) felt weird to me at first too, but upgrades allow you to increase the pickup range quite significantly and more importantly multiple magnet effects were added in form of the weapon overclocks - tesla coils, boomerang, even some turrets if I remember correctly. Some weapon overclocks are specifically designed to boost other weapons - like driller's back shooting Subata. You just pushed too far without adequately upgrading before. The upgrading process might be a bit faster tbh.

@frequentsee3815 Well said, I 100% agree. I like it honestly because it actually makes you try the gun, then try the gun with overclocks and experiment. It would actually discourage most people to try things because why would you use something that has no overclock over a weapon where you already have overclock. And this is what is happening to asmon and why he keeps selecting the base weapons since he don't have overclocks on the new weapons and he does not know how good some of the overclocks on the new weapons. For me I usually just play on lower levels then select the new weapon and level it to 12 then immediately die so that I can now use it in higher hazards. Its just a time waster honestly. You could have been spending your time strategizing on higher hazards but here you are doing an extra step to unlock OC of new guns.

I'm currently on Hazard 5 for each Biome, looking forward to new biomes. My two cents for improvement:
Mine more. You get EXP for collecting gold, nitra, and other minerals on top of them leading to big upgrades between rounds. Far better than just collecting exp globes. Because mining is so integral things like Mining speed, Movement Speed, EXP Radius are huge. The first two just for being able to navigate safely, the latter means you will collect more EXP instead of leaving it on the ground. Don't invest in bad weapon upgrades over things like EXP radius or Mining speed. From there try to have a plan in mind when picking weapons and overclocks. The more you uniform your weapons the more your upgrades overlap (i.e. You can change the assault rifle damage to Electrical damage and then take Stubby and the taser which are default electrical. Then you'll start unlocking upgrades that do damage and reload speed to all Electrical damage weapons, which means it'll effect all of your weapons instead of only one or two.)
I'd also recommend when you unlock a new weapon; do a run with the specific goal in mind to upgrade that weapon to 12 so you unlock it's overclocks for later use.

Some of the things ive noticed is that he is not exploiting the kamikaze bugs. If he spent points on movility he could just get close, trigger the kamikaze bugs, then escape the explosion and get some experience while at it. Also the spinning flametrower is wasted for him since he keeps escaping a lot of distance from mobs making them pointless. Thats why he found more comfortable with the engineer since the turrets he placed stayed in the back doing damage. For The driller character it woud be better if he equiped him with the flametrower turrets since they tend to stay behind him doing damage. Basically the engineer benefits with mining updrages since they can be used to create chokepoints, and the driller benefits with turrets since its moving all the time making chokepoints and always moving drilling leaving the bugs behind.

There's a few things holding Asmon back that's causing him to feel like it's over-tuned to the severity he's claiming. Firstly, the game needs to be played on lower difficulties a few times where your goal is NOT to win, but to spend your time leveling weapons to level 12 so you can "unlock them" fully. The mechanic of "paint jobs" are in the game for 2 reasons, and this is one of them. Opt to buy those OVER anything else on /these types of chosen runs/.
Secondly, Asmon seems to typically be running in a curved pattern into a LONG straight line and never cycling back for dropped exp before the timer between swarms has lapsed and now there's a new pack on the way cutting him off, which wouldn't happen with his third issue:
Asmon isn't looking at the bar at the top of his screen. It shows you when an elite is spawned, drop pod is spawned, wave is spawned and a boss is spawned. You can sometimes speed these up but typically you can see how far off you are from these and MANAGE YOUR MOVEMENT around them.
I saw him trying to rely too much on a magnet being dropped (something other games give out a little more freely) and thus he's used to a save mechanic like that dropping, allowing him to think a little less about how he's moving (ironic because in tight situations he typically does a very good job to maneuver our of it safely).
Lastly, he's now finally mining gold but isn't using it to its fullest. Yes, the best chance of GOOD upgrades will be found between danger levels/earth levels but you don't need to hoard EVERYTHING until that time, especially if you stack or have some Luck. When you level up and get either: 3 greys, 2 greys 1 green, 1 grey 2 greens USE YOUR GOLD TO REROLL. One time, typically with Luck you'll find is enough to get at least 2 greens and a blue show up which helps you dramatically avoid crappy stat choices.
I mentioned the paint jobs having 2 roles, here is the other. When you have many of the weapons fully unlocked, you'll want to upgrade them all the way to "overclock" them, however you'll never get enough experience to do so. This is where the paint jobs come in. You spend a lot of your levels pumping stats into a MAIN weapon of your choice AND getting its overclocks as well but for the rest of your weapons, they won't see many levels pumped into them but overclocks are still something you can achieve with these paint jobs. You typically want to see in a run 2 weapons fully overclocked but only one of those weapons will have levels pumped into it where each "brick" or "slot" that you put a level in actually GOT a stat boost out of it. The other weapon will get a few of these, but the rest will be paint jobs pumping ZERO stats into those slots but will at least result in a game changing overclock mechanic of your choosing. Buying too many "gives x to ALL weapons" can be bad because you're now further from overclocks on your weapons.
    I hope he sees this.

One of the funniest aspects I have found is you can literally play the game 1 handed, as it autoshoots and everything can be chosen easily with wsad space esc. A little fun fact, I wonder if that's cause it's made with thought of a controller or console?
Edit: Might be a stretch but it feels like they looked at some of Asmon's playthroughs and named dmg upgrades "Bigger cocks" or wrote the upgrade voicelines like "This upgrade will change my life!", 'This makes my whole life better!" Am I tripping? My favourite might be "I'm not getting paid enough for this." when you forfeit a run.

    Prioritize in this Order
    1. Supply Pods
    2. Objective
    3. Mining
    4. Boss will die while doing the first 3.
You also shoot yourself in the leg that you want to do everything at once. Either go for mining in supply pods and turrets as well or go full damage. If you do anything else you'll end up only doing half the damage or half the mining speed.
Turrets in the Lavaworld is bad, since you should funnel the mobs over the lava, and when you mine the walls they are avoiding it. And you have to stand while setting up the turrets, I suggest you to try out leveling up the weapons to lvl 12 to unlock their overdrive abilities.

    This is so frustrating.
Asmon runs around in circles and stops intermittently, even when mining he just stops and turns around to look at the bugs coming at him.
He barely mines, he's a dwarf. Ask yourself what does a dwarf do? What is the point of DRG? The answer is mining, not killing bugs. He is in the mindset of similar games like Vampire survivors or death must die where the point is to kill enemies, this is what he focuses on rather than doing the objectives and getting that gold like a proper dwarf.
His playstyle is more better suited for idle and incremental games, in this you need to constantly dodge and weave while B lining from ore deposit to objective to ore deposit. The weapons is mainly for you to constantly drop so you can more easily mine and dodge.
The map is one giant circle and yet he keeps running in smaller squiggly circles so he never in a single level covers more than half of the map.
Then he asks why he is so bad and why the game is so hard... It's like he has not one ounce of gaming experience or gaming instinct.

Unlock your weapons Overdrive levels. You need More Crit, More Armor, More Single Weapon Damage and max. 2 Maxed out weapons.
You put too much emphasis on Health and on Reload speed instead of Damage or Mobility. Luck is also incredible.
You should absolutely reroll level up upgrades, when they are really bad. Grey upgrades especially.

Hey man I know you dont like to take tips but just in case you change your mind:
    a) your goal is to run around and mine for gold and nitre + obj. Killing waves has to be weighted against mining as last resorts. (Thats why driller is so strong)
    b) Try getting every weapon to max to see what their final upgrades do. (Ex: Engineer "Warthog" Auto 210 and Scout's M1000 Classic are OP as frick when you level them.)
    c) Occasional runs on lower tier difficulty to farm the "special" gems for upgrades are worth it.
    d) This game is punishing AF, you're doing solid breh

I’ve never seen someone make so many bad decisions playing a game. Like trying NOT to learn or pay attention to the reality of what’s going on around you.
First time I’ve ever watched him and I just couldn’t stop. Was like driving by a 3 hr long car crash with no survivors.

Asmongold's criticism on DRGS at the end of the vod is actually really accurate. You dont feel a good sense of progress during a run, and there isnt enough variations in the enemies. You instead feel like you are missing out on a lot that you could have gotten instead. Even then, the gameplay loop and feel of the game is great.
My personal gripes with DRGS is that there is very little sense of progression and the lack of variations in everything. It all just ends up feeling the same, even through multiple runs. You end up playing the same playstyle again and again, and due to the overtuned enemies you find the strongest variation of weapons and upgrades and stick to only using that. What's worse is that there is no incentive to use new weapons, and due to having to get the weapon to level 12 in a run first to be able to unlock upgrades you end up feeling like it just isnt worth it and that you have to waste precious levels on nothing.

I think it's because you have to manage each run, because it is all about maximizing profits, meaning some rounds you go damage and some rounds you just mine, and also its very grindy earning upgrades and points to get deeper and further. Much more management than FPS

If you want to snow ball, you have to figure out ways to farm XP just by kiting for as long as possible before taking out the boss. Admittedly the Hollow Bough map is the hardest map IMO. If you try to reveal as much of the map as possible early, you can try to work out a pathing strategy. Doesn't always work, which is why it's hard. Also, I don't think Driller is the best champ for the Hollow map. The Scout with Recon or Gunner can scale pretty well. The sweeper with electricity is kind of OP because of the large amount of AOE damage it does.

The game is more or less about multitasking, but it's not taxing. Killing happens mostly on its own, your priority is to mine resources to buy boosts between levels, and crowd control to survive.
How you mine passages and herd enemies is crucial.

Bro watching you play this game makes me want to put my fist through the screen....
    Here is my advice:
1.) Stop standing around trying to kill stuff, the reason things are getting into huge groups is because you just stand there trying to kill everything. so MOVE
    MOVE MOVE MOVE
2.) Priority on mining the single red crystals give you health, nitra the red crystals in a cluster, gold yellow crystals in cluster, stop worrying about the damn mobs so much and just search for stuff to mine. For example i usually end up with 130 gold 70 nitra per level, and if you get the drop pod buffs then you are doing massive damage.
3.)The little side missions to collect a certain mineral, are nice but dont focus on them. Also, there are plenty of resources so dont just think if you miss one then you are screwed. There are probably 5 times the amount of rescources for the side missions.
4.)And when you do get to the end of the level to spend your resources, don't just buy what you first see. You can reroll for only 5 gold and do it again for 7 then 10 gold. And 9 times out of 10 the reroll is soooo much better. Also for 30 gold you can get health back if your really low.
TLDR; MOVE and MINE, LOOK FOR VEINS GOld and NITRA PRIORITY, and MOVE don't stand around to kill stuff.

I like the weapon system where you need to invest a lot to unlock it. It makes it so you try each weapon and really see how it works. I do not like how you have extra nodes once you have unlocked it. They should stick to 12 level ups with all the overclocking once you have unlocked it. 20 nodes to max overclock something makes it so you don't use more than one other weapon.

Deep Rock is always about the rock and stone. Mining every resource and COD zombies style train the enemies. Don't even focus on the killing. The resources that spawn on that map are the real goal

  • @DerekJ23
    @DerekJ23 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Asmon said it’s unfair that you have to choose between mining or dropping turrets, except you literally don’t! If you walk to stand in front of the stone and then stop walking into it, you drop all extra turrets while mining. Take your fingers off the movement keys and you still mine what’s in front of you

Let's see, few things to note. Each class has it's strengths and weaknesses. The scout is great for moving quick around the map, and the little SMG he gets is INSANE at level 12. The Dodge mechanic for the Recon Scout is great in the sense that, imagine that big boss at the end leaps at you, hits you, but it deals zero damage to you cause you just dodged, and you move WAY faster too from the dodge and can get your distance from him back. The Gunner is great for just walking through the hoards of enemies and turning every single one into blue and pink blocks. The second class, gets a fantastic gun.
The engineer is great for defense.
And the Driller is great for resource gathering, the second and first classes are the most effective of driller classes, I've found.
Pickled Nitra is bad cause it's a purple upgrade with a negative affect (reduced movement speed).
And as you can see, driller goes hard

  • @Mortac

taking the pickled nitra artifact when playing as driller really hurts your speed depending on how much you farm in a level. driller farms the most so by the time you're at the end of a level you are super slow. i usually only take pickled nitra artifact on the scout because of his high move speed.

"The mobs hit hard and I die all the time..." Ummm... You have TWO pips in defense! I am currently working on Hazard 5 and I haven't had any problem really. Just level your dwarves, unlock ALL the classes, ALL weapons and ALL overclocks. You have unlocked overclocks for 4 weapons and expect to clear the whole game? What helped me most of all is that I focused on the EXP and Mining Passive first. Sell all other crystals and only upgrade those to max. Then focus on getting all 25 cost passive nodes filled. etc. Before you know it, the game is just as easy as all the other ones. I have 80 hours so far though.

  • @Ghingis00
    @Ghingis00 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

His biggest issue is, that he is focusing on the xp too much, basically a 100+ gold run with a 50+ nitra should be the goal.
That is easily equal to 3-5lvl or even more if he is unlucky with the cards.
He should do the map quest, focus on mining and kill all the loot bugs.
Usually, he should never stop for a sec, he should use the minimap without it this game is at least twice as hard.
Also with an engineer, it is fucking easy to mine a hole in a rock and stay there until most of the bugs are dead because of its turrets.
So the Popup Tripod can be a really great perk.

  • @dillonjay6605
    @dillonjay6605 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

I have beaten level 5 several times (yes it is extremely hard), you just have to farm and unlock weapons/overclocks. One of the best characters in the game is the turret guy full plasma build and the tier 3 scout (sniper boi). Also, sometimes it's smart to save up your gold and red shit for better upgrades down the road when your run build is more flushed out.

  • @SvenS2
    @SvenS2 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

He should try Tinkerer Engineer and go for full plasma build. Also try to unlock the Crit artifact. Who needs to aim when you have an infinite stream of bouncing lasers which melt everything (Hazard 4 and 5 are still a pain in the ass tho)
I also agree that mobs do too much damage. Would be nice if the exploding bugs had a bigger delay on their explosion. Weaving past them even with high MS, doesn't guarantee you won't get hit.

Pick up radius is IMPORTANT. More important than damage. Don't rely on magnet, it is very rare, so rare that you will hardly see it drop per floor level.
Focus on green *PICK UP* skills, you'll feel a drastic change in your gameplay.

I'm no master of this game , but I feel there are 2 or 3 obvious things asmon is missing.
1: the progress bar, fucking notice it! Its right there constantly at the top of your screen , because its important. It shows upcoming swarms and bosses! Asmon seems to be flabbergasted by every swarm , lol.😂
2: minimap is really useful . Objectives are white etc . Use it.
3 .once you have noticed the progress bar , plan for the swarm and take it out quickly/before the next swarm.
    4. Weapon specific upgrades. Get at least 8 overclocks and at least 2 weapons at lvl18 (3 overclocks) this means you need alot of weapon levelling. Do the "cosmetic" levels that gives you 2 or 3 levels.
    5. Dont rush killing the bosses. They are slow and stupid. Collect xp and mine(MINE MINE MINE!) while slowly grinding them with stray bullets
