@@merlinwarage He criticizes everything. He himself may also be the object of criticism. He has authority and strange tastes. For example, he considers Zelda BotW to be garbage. There are plenty of strategy or really challenging games that are damn fun. But with his authority, he creates an influence on game developers in the direction of simplifying gameplay and his strange taste. Imagine every rpg game will have only one class - Great Sword. Also one one button - Great Badass Punch e.t.d. My criticism seems justified.
I think that would even give him bigger numbers than his MHW series. But I bet he would play DRG only if they give us one more big update (which might take awhile, maybe next season)
writing off characters before you even unlocked the overclocked weapons is pretty wild. You need to treat your first couple runs with each character as fail guarantees where you just rush each weapon to 12 and farm perma upgrade resources. Which you have been ignoring on the map like 80% of the time, this is why you struggle with harder difficulties.
Asmongold cannot seem to adapt to different class styles as I was watching him play this game he's basically been playing as a scout Even on the other classes. Drillers are supposed to drill tunnels and leave flame throwers behind them and always stay in the Mining tunnels. Engineers supposed to set up minions/traps around the Mining area and stay in a sort of kind of Simi-permanent spot until they get done with the mining and then move to another spot. Not move around the map all over the place. PS: That's why when he got the wheels on the turrets he was doing so much better because he was playing it as a scout not as an engineer.
Because he's not really smart in any game aside for Wow. He's a one trick pony that is a fish out of water the moment he plays anything that is not an MMO
I think the teslas would be op if used correctly. You have to funnel the enemies through them instead of around them. They melt the basic bugs and once the reload is increased enough, you can place 4 or 5 in concession that the bugs have to swarm through. It takes a bit of strategy. Mine a pathway through the rock and funnel them through the teslas while placing turrets. When you think about it, this is kinda like COD zombies in a way. You have to train them through traps and into narrow areas to melt them for a few seconds then make the round again.

The trick is to hatch the boss before the waves start intensifying which happens at the end of the stage timer Also never pick the paint job upgrades unless you’re going for a milestone. Your weapon has a level cap and you want to select real upgrades instead The shotgun does INSANE damage (and never stops firing) and clears the way for you when you’re moving. Asmon spent 90% of the time facing the wall when he had the shotgun lol
On the topic of these reverse bullet hell style games, it would be worth a play session for you to check back into Halls of Torment. They had a large content drop today (new level, two new classes, new abilities). Good stuff. You are the one who originally turned me onto that game.
Just fyi, you need to get atleast 1 or 2 of the pickup radius upgrades, that'll help you gather the exp that you're missing. Also don't be afraid to walk through the burning areas, their damage is less than what you'll take from getting hit by the bugs...and one final thing...dig to avoid the bugs LOL So many times you could have just dug around the bugs to avoid the large groups and funnel them into killing hallways.
This game in a strange way feels like it has way more depth than all those other clones, just with the way you unlock different characters and have to max out weapons to unlock the upgradable version. That being said I wish there was a way to go further beyond 5 floors, most of the time my build feels like it's just coming online
This definetely isn't like other survivors games where you just get to a point where your dmg is so crazy you can basically afk. The game wants you to do higher hazard lvl missions and be on the edge of your seat a lot more. Some people like the laid back games like vampire survivors which are pretty 1 dimensional and you can just vibe but personally I love how this game shakes up the genre a bit. The extra proactive decision making makes this game so unique. But it would be cool if they added an "endless" mode on haz1 for people who prefer the other style of playing where you are just grinding out those end game screen charts with crazy numbers and long runs.
luck is better drops FOREVER it stacks and you become a total badass in late game "this weapon isn't that good" the electric fence is literally melting them you just need more electric dmg
He plays the miner plays it like a scout hardly mines doesn't play to the drillers strength says it sucks. Over levels two of his abilities and ignores his other things. He ignores the +2 and +3 to tools for usless damage. In this game, I found that reload speed is one of the more powerful. Your beam attacks are always going, and turrets are always dropping. But he doesn't realize the driller just mines a narrow path and shots everything behind him funneled so they can swarm him. He is very frustrated to watch play this gane. He doesn't recognize how things are supposed to be played differently and plays everything the same, then complains when they don't work like the one class he isn't playing that it works on. Driller is probably the best class in the game when you play it how it is supposed to be played, not standing 2 inches from them, expecting things to die
Played a game as engineer before this and I got the overdrive mod for the turrets that makes them mobile. Which is insane, turns them into turret tanks that follow you. Also, the electric smg is by far the best second weapon to pick. The lock 1 is horrible, high dps but it's too random and gives you no way to melt enemies in front of you which the electric smg does. That said I can't seem to get as far with the engineer as with the gunner. If you invest in the mini gun and get it to max overdrive it's wild.
I don't think it's actually him, but in some lines the driller's VA sounds like the dude that voiced Kill-Face on the cartoon "Frisky Dingo"... ...MAN, I really MISS that show~
Driller is so broken because you can outrun/outmine the bugs movement speed. That means nothing can catch you as long as you don't get surrounded. Play the class with more mining speed and movement speed.
Asmon: man this dude is counter intuitive I have to point at enemies but mining makes me do the oppposite. *unlocks driller* Asmon:IDK about the ass gun guys.
The game is awesome but your used to just sit while abilities kill everything. This game makes you mine and kite if you want to be powerful to kill all mobs fast. It's such a refresh to this genre, I hope they improve it
I don’t get Asmon’s hate on Gunner, his hmg is very powerful imo. It’s one of the strongest wave clearing guns (I’m at hazard 3 rn and haven’t unlocked every single gun, but still), and you don’t have to mine and attack at the same time, just mine while it’s reloading and then turn around and wipe every single enemy coming at you. I feel like first Gunner class is the best crit scaling character, due to sheer amount of bullets he fires. Also, turrets and lmgs, that fire in 4 different ways are pretty nice for him, as his passive procs every other hundred shots fired
After watching your playthrough bout 1/2 way this time round, I decided to just stay in the first biome and farm levels for the weapons and classes for about 10 hours while farming the upgrade crystals. Now my weapons for Engineer are KICK ASS but still have a hard time in the third biome
Knowing how much he loved vampire survivors. He would love this game when he actually figures it out. Plus how much he loved garlic being the driller is perfect t for him and its an awesome class. Watching him level that stupid pistol the whole time made me wanna yell
I really don't like that bullets are just flying out of the character I don't think it would have been too much to design it so that the character was shooting with a mini gun.
Asmons life is changed every week! I need to buy these games!! Love the added commentary to build tension that isn't there: "this is so bad". Everything is fine. "omg it's over". Not close to dying. LOL. Asmon is an entertainer I guess.
having 3 more charges on the turret was around almost 300% more DMG technically all he had to do was move 'til the charges were all loaded up then release all 5 of it all at once but he chose to complain than play well and stood still took damage more than half of his HP, he did eventually do it and it was the better pick fi utilized well
First off it was 3 more turrets sitting on top of the starting 2 turret count which means it only potentially ever could have been a 150% damage increase (3/2) and that is only in its absolute best case scenario for only for a window of time because after the initial turret lifetime expired it would still go back to only being able to continue to put out 1 every time it 'reloaded'. Even if you had no upgrades that affected the turrets cooldown(reload speed) and duration(lifetime) - which is this overclock best case scenario for damage increase - you could still potentially peak with 4 turrets out at a time without this overclock. Which means this overlock from the very start is only 3 more on top of 4 and only a 75% increase in burst damage during the peak burst window. Its advantage becomes even worse as you start adding upgrades to cooldown and duration. In Asmon's position where he could sustain 4 turrets off cooldown, he could have opted to stock the 2 turrets to front load them while the 3rd dropped which means he would have peaked at 6 on the field; this overlock could have brought it to 9 but 3 more on top of 6 is only a 50% damage increase (3/6) but also keep in mind none of this affects the sustained dps or total damage because you create a window where you neglect to do damage early on in order to accumulate it for later. Fire rate and damage increase scale linearly because the turret itself never has to stop firing until it expires. And while the 150% fire rate increase would have had a diminishing return based on how many fire rate increases he selected so far in the run it still would have outpaced the additional turrets is every situation. Even if he would have gone as high as 100% increase to fire rate to would have been 75% more dps (150/200) at all times which would translate directly to sustained and total damage output.
i wonder what goes through his head when he choses a common 10 hp max upgrade over all weapons +20% damage. He never actually thinks about what his loudout is and what their synergies are with upgrades like beam dmg, elemental dmg, etc. I think he likes the scout more because that class's upgrades don't require reading.
When I play gunner I just ignore the digging and gathering and only focus on combat and leveling. Much more fun that way but I usually just play scout if there isn't a class specific objective

He did say at one point. The more you tell him to do something, he is only going to do the opposite. He knows what he is doing, well what he is not doing I guess would be the better way to put it.
I like how he never goes for the usable resources like gold and nitra that would actually make him strong and skips the upgrades like luck that would give him better options.
seeing him skip a luck upgrade over +10 max hp drove me insane haha
Makes me want to see him play the ACTUAL Deep rock galactic
Right? It's kind of sad seeing him fangirl over this version. Original is way better for sure. Looking forward to the new roguelike they working on tho... I think it's called Rogue Core. That also looks to be way better than this one.
I actually think that survivor is a hook to make people interested in the main Game. They are smart guys lol
@@mikedoe525it's working on me, just bought survivor and added the original to my wish list lol
@@mikedoe525 Nah, they've made it because it's way easier to make than their other games, they pumped out this game as soon as the first in the genre started being so massively popular.

It took him 3 hours to realize the red stuff is healing, 4 hours to realize about the turets and 5 hours to figure out that the slugs can be mined. Long time... edit: he did not realize that is useless to mine xp after the final boss is dead.
It is okay man , btw there is wiki icon at the top right of the main menu screen , it helps a lot and so simplified cuz the game doesn’t tell you about most of the basics
I think He should play the normal DRG aswell
Bro, i had like 7 turrets all with Plasma (bounces off objects) and wall breaking, it literally destroyed everything and i had like 4.6m plasma damage. also shotgun (warthog) works well with him, when you overclock shotgun you can get plasma too, and just level up all plasma damage.
also always prioritize getting Nitra (red rocks) over gold. and stop wasting time mining red sugar when you're full health.
good luck bro
"Mining? I don't know if that's good."

I bought this game because of your gameplay. It seems very enjoyable! Thanks for featuring this man.
You should kill the loot bugs they drop both of the currencies that you never have enough of.
sadly he never came back to get all Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe endings :(

My life has been shitty lately. I might get this game so i can change it
You've gotta keep in mind, that MINING is the top priority! You can buy the things you're missing out on, between each stage. And some are very valuable!...
Keep in mind, all types of colors have some form of value.
New AAAAA game that asmongold like? Imagine all future games will be like that, lets influence more stuff like that, good work streamer

Wtf are you on about? This is a 10$ game... not even close to 5xA.
Lmao “why would I want more mining speed?”
I dunno. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I have it on my wishlist. Looking forward to playing it, just in between Palworld right now
How many times can you take damage mining and still constantly overlook mining speed..
Another Petition for Asmon to actually play Deep Rock Galactic!
I think that would even give him bigger numbers than his MHW series. But I bet he would play DRG only if they give us one more big update (which might take awhile, maybe next season)
Engineer hands down is the best class on horde control, you just have to think forward on making choke points for your swarm ambush/escape.
I love the deep rock galactic franchise, and I’m so glad they’re reviving the series with this absolute banger!
Reviving? When was it ever dead lol.

ROCK AND STONE!!!!
writing off characters before you even unlocked the overclocked weapons is pretty wild. You need to treat your first couple runs with each character as fail guarantees where you just rush each weapon to 12 and farm perma upgrade resources. Which you have been ignoring on the map like 80% of the time, this is why you struggle with harder difficulties.
man I’m so addicted to this lol I think my raid leader hates me for playing it more then SOD
I hope they'll add co-op in the full release.
Zach missing that you have to stand still to get the turrets out while proceeding to move constantly was a tough watch
How is he 3 hours into the game and still doesn't realize that he's mining red sugar when he doesn't need hp.

Succession. Concession is something that is given-up or given away, usually reticently or unwillingly.

My first run with the borer was really interesting. I didn't really get any weapon upgrades, but I was zooming across the map, through walls, even through monkite. By the end of the run I had over 200% mining speed and pickup radius, with a good amount of armor, hp and extra xp to the point that I could just run through a group of explody boys without a care in the world. Which I actually had to do several times because my damage was too low

I have realised now why Asmon is such a big succes on the internets. He is funny. Because he plays sooooo bad. He attracts with his funny side and his faces.
1:14:40 moments like this I got to wonder if he's actually acting or not when he finds out a mechanic that he's just been ignoring. 1:16:00 case in point.
This game changed my life. I'm so glad I played this game.
40:51 well, he's not getting the 4 kinetics this run now if there was any doubt when he changed his gun to electric. 😆
The trick is to hatch the boss before the waves start intensifying which happens at the end of the stage timer
Also never pick the paint job upgrades unless you’re going for a milestone. Your weapon has a level cap and you want to select real upgrades instead
The shotgun does INSANE damage (and never stops firing) and clears the way for you when you’re moving.
This was like watching the opening of Scary Movie. Chooses banana instead of knife, sprints down path marked "danger" and ignores safety, etc...
luck is better drops FOREVER it stacks and you become a total badass in late game
"this weapon isn't that good" the electric fence is literally melting them you just need more electric dmg
*unlocks driller*
Asmon:IDK about the ass gun guys.
Man literally uses fire agenst bugs that live in the fire area and says his character sucks
I hope he comes back and continues to play. It's really fun watching him play it.
Knowing how much he loved vampire survivors. He would love this game when he actually figures it out. Plus how much he loved garlic being the driller is perfect t for him and its an awesome class. Watching him level that stupid pistol the whole time made me wanna yell
defaulting to upgrading damage all the time is smooth brain activity you have to synergize with the upgrades to be effective
42:52 we need a compilation of this murloc moments 😂😂😂
having 3 more charges on the turret was around almost 300% more DMG technically all he had to do was move 'til the charges were all loaded up then release all 5 of it all at once but he chose to complain than play well and stood still took damage more than half of his HP, he did eventually do it and it was the better pick fi utilized well
First off it was 3 more turrets sitting on top of the starting 2 turret count which means it only potentially ever could have been a 150% damage increase (3/2) and that is only in its absolute best case scenario for only for a window of time because after the initial turret lifetime expired it would still go back to only being able to continue to put out 1 every time it 'reloaded'.
I loved watching him run around ignoring every ore he saw, bro is not a miner
When I play gunner I just ignore the digging and gathering and only focus on combat and leveling. Much more fun that way but I usually just play scout if there isn't a class specific objective
building one good gun like the rifle, then go for move speed and mine speed is wild in this game, then go for random gold drop from mining.
Hey Asmongold, judging by the top bar I'd recommend to explore and farm as much as possible before you reach the middle of it. There is where the glyphids start spamming big time
