@@ughaaghastness5440this may surprise you but people often like to watch streamers who are authentically bad at games in an entertaining way. Yes Asmongold is bad at learning how to play games, he’s slow to pick up on mechanics etc, gets stuck on a single
meta for a long time “because it just works” (double “halbardo” jump attack etc), but he does all this in a way that’s entertaining to watch, even if just as second-screen content.

With a game like dark souls, he could just select a set load out and head butt bosses until he wins. I mean he legit was slow rolling on his fight with the nameless king, which is impressive he made it that far with slow rolling, but proves he struggles with decision making.

He doesn't know how awesome the scout is in deep rock, the boomstick (shotgun) with special powder is one of the most fun things in any game I've ever played. The survivor game is very well made (just like the original deeprock). Super intuitive and lets you learn the game step by step. These developers are really good honestly.

this game was developed by FunDay games and GSG was just a publisher that lent them their IP
I love this game. If anyone has trouble with it, I suggest focusing on surviving long enough to get weapons to level 12 the first time in each run as much as you can. Focus on that, first, as they make your damage scale much better and give you more build options.
Also, all the classes are cool in their own way, but the driller, the last one you get at player level 7, is by far my favorite. Stick it out even if it feels tough and you'll be cruising in no time.
Note: I didn't have a successful dive until I unlocked the engineer, so don't worry about failing
gunner was the easiest for me, finished all my dives with him so far, scout took me like 5 or 6 trys to even get one lul
What upgrade order do you recommend? Both in meta progression and in stages?
I think upgrading Luck is very important as well as levelling the weapons to 12 to get the mk2 version from the get go
Absolutely right upgrade different weapons to level 12 even if it costs you runs in the end over clocks are fun
I was a Driller Main in DRG, I am a Driller main in DRG:Survivor. it is only natural
I honestly think the beauty of these types of steam games is it's almost like old school ps2 era games you load up and jump right in... the controls and the combat is really intuitive. Something that's missing in gaming today is you need hours of messing around before you even get to actually play the game

Vampire Survivors was the first of this genre that set the base blueprint... a lot of other great similar games with their own twists: Halls of Torment, Tiny Rouges, Soulstone Survivor, and now DRG adding in on the fun.
They really aren't anything special, but still are fun to play.
Watching Asmon play games is like trying to teach an old person how to use a computer.

yup. Its $10 usually but atm I think it is $9 since its on sale for the release of the early access. But yeah its a very cool price range.

I would really love a Warhammer 40k Version like this. Tyranids, Chaos, Eldar, Necrons etc. Chapters of Space Marines as the main protagonists. Different worlds and ships for variation in maps.

Holy shit, I didnt know Deep Rock galactic was getting a bullet hell rougelike but it looks so fucking awesome!
To anyone wondering Deep Rock Galactic is an awesome game, think Starship Troopers mixed with Minecraft. The forty devs really put the players first, only game I've seen where if you don't complete the season pass they put the items in game for you to collect.
I'd add Left for Dead to that description but agreed!

I actually prefer this to Vampire Survivors. It's very addictive. 2024 has been an amazing year so far with so many cheap games (Helldivers 2, Pal World, Granblue Relink). You could literally buy 4 amazing indie games for the price of a "AAAA" game.

Vampire survivors made a great idea and several other games made great spinoffs. Literally can buy Halls of Torment, Vampire, Soulstone, Tiny Rouges, and now DRG for a grand ol' time without spending much money at all.

Upgrades don’t do diddly. They need to work on that. U don’t feel like +20 damage does anything. After getting it multiple times.

It almost became physically painful seeing him pass up on so many big crit chance buffs. That topped with his already buffed damage would have been godly.
That second character is absolutely broken. Choose crit chance buffs and reload speed buffs and you’re gonna melt through the mobs like butter.

What is his obsession with reload speed? Reloading a Howitzer slowly is better than reloading a paintball gun really fast.

it's so hard to watch asmongold slay games sometimes because he misses these small but really crucial details, like the arrows at the bottom on his weapons telling him which weapons the upgrades affect.

You need to play Deep Rock Galactic as well. It is so, so, so good. That and Helldivers 2 are my favourite co-op experiences currently. Cannot wait for season 5 in June.

The metaprogression in this game seems very well done! I've played similar games but this one looks mature enough and has done everything right from what I can tell form Asmon's playthorugh.
With the grenade launcher that can turn into a mini nuke, a plasma beam that also deals massive piercing damage I can see why engie is the last unlock hope we get to see asmon reign nuclear superiority

Its fumny that Helldivers 2 is the 3rd person shooter version of the original top down game, and now this is the top down version of the original Deep Rock Galactic.
Asmongold has been on Survivors ark these past two years and I'm all for it.
