I want a nice vehicle that I can drive my whole family around in, and haul 2 tons worth of lumber and concrete when I need it, and not be afraid to take it camping down a dirt road. I miss the days when you could get a well-equipped truck for $25-30k.
3 months ago I bought the 2014 Ford F150 Supercrew FX4 with Ecoboost. Man this is a NICE truck. Just towed my Ranger 620 multi-species boat (3400 pounds) with this truck just today and WOW....what a difference. I used to tow with my 2006 F150 Supercrew with the 5.4 V8. This ecoboost drives so much easier and tows like a dream. I struggled with the choice of engine for a long time. Made the right choice. Fuel economy is not a big thing here....not much improvement. But boy this out-tows the 5.4 by a mile !!!
Excellent detailed review and great looking truck in the crew cab IMO. Tons of space for all five seats and can tow big time. I'll take mine in Lariat form with the Max tow package and the same Ecoboost - Throw in one of the 50x packages and I'm complete.
just last week, I bought a 2014 Lariat supercrew 4x4, ecoboost 6.5 bed. my previous truck was a 17 yr. affair with a 2001 supercrew 4x2 5.4. the one is so quiet and smooth, and responsive without all the noise some trucks have, I'm all in for another 17 yr. affair.

We purchased the 2011 F-150 Limited 6.2L V8, it was love at first sight. One day we were driving along the tollway access road (speed limit of 50). This lady driving a range rover (with brush guard) hit us from behind going 60! Needless to say that the frame on the truck was completely crumpled underneath the bed of the truck, along with some under the cab ($15,000 in damages). We had the vehicle repaired and traded for the 2013 F-150 Limited Eco-Boost (3.5L). The moment we drove the car off, I knew the truck was going to have issue. I did NOT like the turbo charged engine, we had previously been doing research on BMW's for me, cars such as the 335i or 535i. I had heard terrible things about the turbo engines things such as dying fuel pumps, engines stalling, and etc. Needless to say there are currently lawsuits against Ford for this engine specifically. As soon as we saw the news articles, testimonies, and opinions from other owners of trucks with this engine, we immediately traded it in. I will give Ford props on the interior of the car, I LOVED the red interior and badging all around the truck. The MyFord Touch system was not the best system, we had this in our 2011 Edge Sport and it was HORRIBLE, which when we traded for the 2011 Limited we went back to the original navigation system, which over time they did make some much needed revisions. Overall, the F-150's are a wonderful line up if you ask me, but in a $54,000 truck, I would expect the engine to be dependable, and achieve the displayed gas mileage of 16/22/18 and in reality I only ever achieved 13 in the city and only 15 on the highway...
Just curious as to why you thought it was not going to be dependable, and why you bought it in the first place if you knew all of that stuff. The 2011 Limited is a great truck. My dad one and it is fantastic. No issues at all.
Mainly because of the engine start-up. When the engine started, it seemed to take a long time for the turbos to get up to speed was one of the major hints. Plus driving it on colder/humid days the throttle response was awful! We did not have time to do research on the vehicle because our 2011 Limited was fixed at the dealership and we arrived early to look at the new truck to see the features to see what it had to offer. We talked with a sales rep which he knew what condition our 2011 was in, proceeded to check CarFax and the accident had not been reported at the time. So we immediately traded (never driven after repair) on the spot getting normal value for our 2011, instead of having practically a salvaged title, where later we would have had to file a diminished claim case. Which we later came to find that it did end up on CarFax and the ford dealer was forced to auction the car off with thousands less than what they paid, because the vehicle was not "safe to sell." Which I guess it was safe for us to drive but not to sell. So basically we went into the purchase blind sighted. But the 2011 was flawless.
People ask to much from a work truck. I mean sure it can be nice such as this one, but you don't need leather stitch in the somewhat base model truck. Not to say that I'd like the entertainment screen in the xlt xtr, better for if I had glove's on and didn't want to get the screen dirty and scratched to turn up the heat. Now even though this is a beautiful truck, it doesn't need the feature's as you said it could have. Because otherwise you may as well put a lariat badge on it, or just go buy a lariat cause majority of the time their not that much more costly then the xlt xtr ( depending on the option's and features).

Is the extended cab a little crowded for a person over 6 ft tall? I was wondering because i was askin for a 04 through 08 f150 super cab. Please answer quick because me and my dad see this really nice deal on one.
Out of experience, I sat in the back of a 2004 F150 FX4 with the SuperCab and the rear leg room is not great. I'm 5'9" and I was a bit cramped, however, I have long legs for my height. Granted, the front seat was pretty far back. For anyone over 6'0" tall, it will be crowded in the back seat, but the front seat isn't any different than a SuperCrew. I would get the SuperCab over the SuperCrew any day just for the 6.5 ft bed though. The SuperCrew comes standard with the ridiculously short 5.5 ft. bed. You can get a SuperCrew with the 6.5 ft. bed, but then the truck becomes incredibly long and won't fit in some garages. Just my 2 cents.

@@chisel954 ikr I'm looking at a 14. Ok thanks for confirming that with me as I've read that on Google that things start to go wrong at the 150 mark and the one I'm looking at already had 130 so I think I'm going to pass. Good information to keep in mind though for the future. What kind of problems like transmission and engine failures?
The Silverado had 460 ft/lb torque... Well, I mean with the 6.2 EcoTec. But still, 420 torque is not class leading. The silverado leads the class with Horsepower, Torque, towing, and fuel efficiency.
Just wait one more year and those numbers will change but Im not here to bash chevy. I own a chevy and its been a good car so props to Chevy and ford : )
He called the one knob on the left door panel the switch for the seats were in fact the mirror selection switch. If you slow down the video he makes other mistakes.
I test drove a 2011 F150 ecoboost. I just do not like the way it sounds, and I do not like the power delivery of the Turbo v6. Not to mention the shady reliability of the ecoboost. I would take a naturally aspirated v8 any day, despite the small MPG penalty. Unless you go to the new silverados 5.3 v8 where you get the best of both worlds.
You get the best of both worlds? Really? No, you get 1MPG highway better than the Ecoboost with wayyyyy less power and torque and awful transmission programming. Not to mention the laggy cylinder deactivation. I hated the 5.3 when I drove it. The 5.0 Ford is where it's at.
you can add a kicker woofer but thats about it on the basic XL....I dont know about the higher ones like Plat,etc...I wonder how much an HK or B&O sound system would cost to purchase
+Landon Kaufman Well it is for a 1/2 ton. I mean have you looked at a Gm and Ram back seat compared to the f-150? And just the cab size and whole truck in general? It's pretty big. But I get what you mean.

@@scorpiocara6798 Wow 7 yrs ago! So yes the FORD truck will last (just keep up with general maintenance) 5 years or +150,000 miles before u have any real problems.
10:50-10:55 mercedes amg v12
My 14 f150 limited has remote start
dave sal My FX4 as well.
+dave sal can you tell me what make your remote start is ? i would like that in mine.
where do you live, its so sunny ?!
FreshMotion1 His usual roads look like Washington DC
You should do a supercab
How about do a Tundra
My limited has telescopic wheel too
The Silverado had 460 ft/lb torque... Well, I mean with the 6.2 EcoTec. But still, 420 torque is not class leading. The silverado leads the class with Horsepower, Torque, towing, and fuel efficiency.
comparing a new truck to a 5 year old one isnt exactly fair tho....
***** I was comparing a 2014 Silverado 1500 and a 2014 Ford F-150...
Just wait one more year and those numbers will change but Im not here to bash chevy. I own a chevy and its been a good car so props to Chevy and ford : )
before you put confidence in the new 6.2 please go to the "fast lane car" videos and check out the hill pull between the ecobosst and 6.2l GM motor.
Silverado can't compare to this.

@@scorpiocara6798mileage on these ecos are abt 19-22 mpg
Woah dude I'm fine if you talk slower! Sounded like you were gonna pass out from talking so fast lol
He called the one knob on the left door panel the switch for the seats were in fact the mirror selection switch. If you slow down the video he makes other mistakes.
i hope in 2015 bring the v8 back :( lets pray plz or no v8 for life
I test drove a 2011 F150 ecoboost.
The 6.3l v8 (in the silverado) is more fuel efficient than this truck, and it has more horsepower and torque.
HCFX2011 My point is that the the eco-boost v6 is terrible.
It's not terrible by any means. It just needs some more refinement and R&D
Is the new model going to be the atlas
why am i watching this in 2020
which do you like better the dodge ram or ford f150?
R these good reliable car????? I know it's a truck so the milage is trash
why are you always almost out of fuel in all of your reviews? haha
R these good reliable car????? I know it's a truck so the milage is trash
I love it
he never talked about the Audio....
Is it bad? I am looking to get this truck real soon.
I heard it's decent
***** you can always upgrade it right?
Of course you can, Every thing that has a Audio system can be upraded, Ex: BOSE audio works great and the bass is huge
you can add a kicker woofer but thats about it on the basic XL....I dont know about the higher ones like Plat,etc...I wonder how much an HK or B&O sound system would cost to purchase
More torque and horsepower*****
how about the ram ?
I'm going to miss the body style
You consider this a huge truck? What about the 3/4 ton and 1 ton Trucks? And nice review thanks
+Landon Kaufman Well it is for a 1/2 ton. I mean have you looked at a Gm and Ram back seat compared to the f-150? And just the cab size and whole truck in general? It's pretty big. But I get what you mean.
+Kyle Fitzgerald I'm just used to a F-250 extended long bed, and a crew f350 long bed, so every time I get into to a car or even a half ton, everything seems small
Landon Kaufman Yeah, I get what you mean.
my phone has a bigger display
malavpatel77 phone can do 10x as much. It’s a truck dumbass keep ya eyes on the road
👍
si la levanta pa el negocio veremos si la capital contable lo permite
I really want to get the truck for pleasure only like really.
Its not a "Huge" truck.
$1,000 for headlights? wow
These trucks are worth $100.000 in Australia with nothing in them such a rip off can't wait to move back to cali... (;~D
