my face when machine ritual deck locks me into machine rituals
it was intended to support rituals generically as a toolbox deck from the get go, someone at RND just forgot to make benten a once per turn and someone else forgot to errata magician of black chaos max to say "if this card is *ritual summoned*" when they made dyna mondo.
It doesn’t even lock your extra deck lol it only says you can’t ritual summon non-machines. Extra deck is wide open.
@@frig7014 this is cope. Check the actual ritual generic support in Impcantation and how restrictive it is, then look back at Drytron and tell me if it was supposed to be used in other Ritual decks instead of being its own thing where they forgot to hard lock it into Machine Rituals in the first place.

You can't cheat out Chaos Max if you're locked into Machine, and this card has no destruction protection.

This is actually how support should be for archetypes. Encourage you to play the Pure varient more with putting in more locks so people can’t abuse broken generics. Wish Snake Eyes had locks.
iirc the unplayed drytron monster also return banished drytron monster or something, if it's correct then the new support also makes the old unplayable card kinda playable

@@rorschach4502 the card still isn't the best though if it summoned a banished it would give you immediate advantage but if a bystial banishes a drytron on activation then all beta does is make you go -1 just so you get that specific one in grave for next turn (and if it was magnamhut the card just gets banished again by something else.
@@txkyoaes5743 ok fair enough. But it does punish pre mature bystial/crow play which you can say is bad players but it does happen, especially when people aren't super familiar with all the drytron cards...but I guess the best example would have just been playing through shifter 🤷

I agree though, the card does seem to have its uses. It’s definitely underutilized though since drytrons don’t work with it inherently (meteonis being gemknight fusion probably would’ve made it more popular) and it’s kinda like a side deck card but it doesn’t floodgate your opponent so most people don’t care 🗿
The DAD isn't a hard opt. You can loop it twice, first by linking it off with masq into dyna mondo, and then by tributing it with the new trap after it banished a drytron for cost and immediately ritual summoning it again (you'd need one additional material cause the trap only recurs 2, but you can just use a spent mu beta). DAD notably banishes for cost so you can trigger the trap even if it has been negated by let's say a dark ruler no more. This support is insane and makes the deck way less reliant on fairies! Also nova is a 1 card combo now and the ursarctic drytron hybrid monster has a utility of being able to fetch the new trap card
Thank god someone actually knows what Drytron does. This support is super good, It doesnt make the deck anymore busted than what it was before but now its soooo much better as a pure variant and we can get away with just 3 benten and 1 Natasha as fairy engine
Meteionis=DAD is not too difficult to summon. Your Fafnir will be set to 1000 attack during your combo to return Meteonis Drytron back to your hand, so tributing it plus its material brings out DAD
Something very funny about Meteonis=DAD is that it's a soft twice per turn. If you can somehow summon two of them (not impossible if you open one copy in your hand and search the other copy through your combo). If you do this, both DADs protect the other from destruction effects, and you have potentially four negates (likely less) to negate non-destruction effects.
Or you can add 2 drytrons with the trap tributing DAD and resummon it with the same trap for the 4 negates. Which also resets the drytrons in GY to banish for effect
your meant to use the trap card you search in the combo to tribute DAD after its second activation, add back your banished guys, then reveal meteonis in your hand to ritual it from the gy with those same guys to reset the soft twice per turn.
Yep, its easy to summon, but the real question is do you really want to end on a big unprotected bungus, when you have Vanity's lock or chaos Max + Benten abuse at your disposal. I'm not convinced

You can summon DAD, and IP. On your opponents turn, you negate twice with DAD, then go into DYNA Mondo with IP, you can spin a card, then chain effect of Mondo to reborn DAD, now you got 2 more negates.
An important part about DAD is that it doesn't say "if this was summoned with monsters totaling two levels", so if you can manage to end on it and I:P, you can link on your opponent's turn into Dyna Mondo for a spin and tribute it to get DAD back online with another two negates
Im fine with them trying to prevent Turnskip degeneracy, but machine lock really hurts the Fairy part of the deck. Natasha is a busted ahh card that drytron needs to win on the crackback.

It's really weird seeing Josh in love with a deck having restrictions on cards when his favorite engine is like 15 copies of Instant Fusion without any REAL restrictions.
Yeah, but that's part of a grindy control deck. Not a ramp deck like Tear, let alone a combo deck.
That's because of what type of deck Drytron has been played as, a combo that puts up a ton of negates that prevents you from playing the game entirely. He hates those decks.
Not having a Battle phase is a real restriction. Runick is a very strong archetype and could have had a worse restriction. However, there is definitely a restriction there hahaha
no bp matters, consider every monster basically has a bonus effect thqt says "destroy 1 monster with lower attack"
You can send the whole XYZ to summon it (2 materials and the xyz itself is 6000 atk)
The machine hard lock on the new main deck monster is nice, pushes the deck away from it's current playstyle (turnskip turbo with amorphactor pain/BMOC max)
But pushes it more into vanity ruler
Now they only need to give us more machine rituals, nothing as unfair as the fairy stuff like herald, but more. Taking away benten summons is hurting a bit ngl. We do abuse benten, but not as often as everyone thinks. Summoning benten stil takes away 1 of 2 uses off meteonis. If they could replace that with some in archetype machine ritual stuff, it would be nice (rn they are 4 machine rituals overall, soon 5 with DAD)

@@zyroberk It's neither's fault since you need to really consistently provide a lot the needed ways to get to get to those plays without interruption. Also the Vanity monsters are a lot more fairer than what Drytron has been doing like Mungenman88 mentioned. We have monster removal and/or Summon negation in the form of Spell/Traps and, for decks that don't need their Normal Summon, Exiled Force and monsters that pop other monsters through a Normal Summon or as in-grave effects. It's just depends on how willing are you to make the choice of main and/or side decking any of them for that matchup.
I feel like the banishment for effect cost for dad isn't that bad. You just play beta now

Magikey is the only other machine ritual
Both are 2000 attack so the best you could do is add a counter trap
Batobuster is the only one worth doing since the other won’t be able to activate its effects

1 Card starter NU2 to get level 7 Alpha that gets the field spell that gets the trap (Adding field spell for summon protection, or just skip this completely and have the lvl 7 get the trap), also beta ain't bad no more (with this pure build the trap and beta gets your monsters in rotation) also playing 2 other 4k monsters counts for tribute bodies. Mu beta spell/trap negate will always be a thing now
. ALSO Benten, Natasha, Diviner and Vanities lock still works okay.

I think it's quiet the hot take that Drytron should have been machine locked.
To me the ability to use pretty much any ritual monster as a payoff in Drytron is what makes it so special.
Now with this support you have to chose between the new bossmonster or the old flexability.
And by special you mean degenerate and frustrating.

To be fair Vanity's ruler has always been either used or considered in drytron

I swear Josh does not like any decks I do. I love Mathmech, killed. I love Drytron, was the deck I got into Yugioh with back when it released, and it's getting great support. I just hope it's tiered again so I don't get my ass blasted playing my favorite deck. Plus, people that are saying that being locked into Machine Rituals is bad are just plain wrong. Has anyone actually read Magikey cards? Like, Batosbuster is a Machine Ritual with 2000 ATK, so it can be summoned with one Drytron name tribute and gets you an omni-negate counter trap. That, Mu-Beta for a spell negate, F.A. Dawn Dragster as a second S/T negate with the Lv6 Diviner after dumping Herald of the Arc Light plus a name, Alpha Draconids having two monster negate/destroys, and your choice of link suite like I:P into S:P or even 4-mat Apollousa, I can't say it's bad.

Lmao, everyone in Josh's chat saying it is a bad support wave while it is actually custom af. First of all, the new lvl 1 makes so nova/field spell is 1 card combo (drytron has never been a 1 card combo deck before). Second, everyone in the chat was saying that the only way to search for Drytron Spells/traps is the field spell. That's absolutely false. Ursatron can ss himself and the add a s/t by controling a drytron. The deck can now play around Nib, super poly, drnm and droplet while stablishing boards of 4 monster negates, i:p and fafnir with his secret s/t negate effect online + tons of follow up.
Pleas enlighten me how it does so, with a single card
@@deathKkid Nova ss the new lvl 1. Lvl 1 searches alpha. Alpha tributes the new lvl 1 to ss and search for Benten. The new lvl 1 revives from gy. Make fafnir and dump zeta. Zeta ss by tributing Benten and searches for the rit spell. Benten searches diviner. Ns diviner, send herald to add DAD. Rit spell by tributing fafnir and the 2 material to summon DAD. Rit spell comes back. Then make S:p with Zeta and diviner. So you have 2 monster negates + S:P with 1 card.
This doesnt play around nib, plays through drnm or droplet tho, also not 4 negates
Also personally making dawn dragster with div and zeta seems better to not lose against ttt
@@deathKkid lmao you don't do all of that with 1 card. (You can summon DAD as the fith summon if you want but you won't leave s:p.) I'm saying the average endboard can do it. Drytron has never been a 1 card combo deck before it is nice that they have a 1 card play now.
I like that they’re trying to force the deck away from turn skip turbo with Amorphactor or that Black Magician of Chaos Max thing, but that’ll only be successful if the new stuff is stronger than the old stuff, which I don’t think it is. Skipping your opponent’s turn seems a little bit better than setting up a double monster negate that kills your grind game by ruining your graveyard

Also the lock on Nu2 isn't enough to make the deck be more pure because generic Extra Deck monsters are still on the table for this deck, and no it won't involve the Ursarctic core into the mix; you couldn't really run them anyways because your locked into Summoning monsters that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. This doesn't prevent you from playing the Lyrilusc Xyzs (or any other busted Rank 1s) or get into busted Synchro plays using the PSY-Frame package. Konami needs to keep the support up if they want us to truly play pure Drytron. Bring us some 2000 ATK/DEF Drytron Rituals and/or Rank 1 Xyzs that help the boss monsters even more and/or protect their face-up Spell/Traps or punish the opponent for getting rid of them.
The old stuff has arguably more ceiling but it's far less consistent and way more fragile. It's just another bad centurion, and centurion isn't even a good deck.

I don't think this will completely stop them from playing with Diviner, Benten etc, those engines provide way too much advantage for a ritual deck to just give them up because now the deck can lock itself. This feels like an extender you play if you have no other choice IMO

The new 5k is very easy to pull out.. I'm an OCG player and run the new 5k at 2 copies and summon both of them in a single turn.. And the banish cost is a bit costly so Drytron Beta is now very relevant..

If you are using these then kiss the disco ball bye bye, you'll be using the orange light and friends handtrap instead. Summoning the DAD just used a mu beta fafnir with full materials which is EZ what got me is ritual summon on opponent turn. Also majesty fiend and vanity ruler is real

Drytron and ursarctic are supposed to be 1 massive archetype yet they have some massive power gap
I dont rly like the support overall, but idk. Its interesting for sure, but has too many downsides rn compared to other builds, even if u say its supposed to bring the powerlevel down. Its like, they lock us into something that has literaly only 5 options. 3 off those take 2-3 tributes. I wish we had some "mid-combo" options, which allow us to do everything (or almost everything) that cyber angels or megaliths did, but without these super strong/toxic endboard options ig
I never stopped using Drytron and I’m happy to see new support but I hope it’s nothing amazing so people don’t bandwagon on it like these meta decks

He’s saying “it’s good” as in it’s good for people playing it that he will go up against because he knows it’s actually shit because of the lock, not going into benten or beatrice etc is terrible, what you get from that 1 card is less than what you would get by simply not playing it, he missed the mark on the “is it good” no it’s not good, it’s a win more card which means after you did all your other plays you can then summon it and use effect where you already did benten/beatrice and then keep going, but the new ritual and trap is good, the trap states you can use meteonis drytron to ritual summon it, which would mean you can bypass the attack number and just use meteonis to ritual it, as well as have 2 negates, be immune to card destruction, if removed you just float into a meteonis which is a pop 2, so it has 2 negates, 2 pops, 1 float, immune to battle destruction, and whatever else you could go into such as have herald negates or even the troll transaction rollback line to send shiranui trap from beatrice to lock opponent out of summoning, there’s plenty of good things to come from it however that main monster isn’t it
gonna be frank, I don't like the machine lock. what made Drytron interesting at first glance was the ritual having the ability to summon the vast majority of all rituals, allowing for unique splashes of various ritual cards into the deck. using the power of the stars to rip open a gate to various worlds was a fun play, and ill admit i did weird stuff with mine, like getting to use the Espirit barons.
what that became on the otherhand was herald turbo and mass turnskip. so now the new consistency afforded comes at the cost of being lopped down to... just Drytron and Magikey rituals. further the new boss doesn't seem like trouble to summon, but it being outed results in it primarily summoning another very small category of rituals overall.

Nu.II sucks there's absolutely no reason to play it Ursatron exists and is strictly better than this thing because not only does it not Banish it self it searches anything. Nu.II Forces you to run nova which is already not good and gets rid of the cyber angel engine which is even worse.

Nah I completely disagree, the chadley side stuff in ff7 rebirth was mind numbingly bad. All the busy work was boring and made me hate chadley. His stuff isn’t varied at all. Getting summons is so uninteresting, why couldn’t they add dungeons and lore for them and have chadley talk to you and explain the lore as you explore the dungeon. You should feel an accomplishment learning about these summons and obtaining them. I hated getting to the tower again and again and again. Doing the fiends was boring, getting the springs and hitting triangle with the same pattern every time was also boring. I had to step away for a while and come back because it felt like a slog. They also force you to complete them for some side quests to be finished. I was bored. The linear stuff was far more interesting. The side quests were okay as they added more context to characters and the world. All of Chadleys stuff felt disconnected most of the time and were a chore. I enjoyed a lot of the mini games and queens blood was really fun.
