his feel like one of those videos that's extremely funny to you, but when you show your friends, it's not funny to them, and they'll just think you're some fart face.
I feel this.
A
@@kingkennedythomasphiri8358 ayo you just brought me back to a video I haven't been to in five years. I think this was before I was a big fan of bill hader
Dude you are so right. I love this sketch, but when I show it to others, they don't get it. They must have fart in their ears.
nailed it, fartface
What! this was absolutely hilarious i liked it and the end was priceless
+DiligentDrew Me too! I burst out laughing at the end!
"There's only one Fart Face, and I'm looking at him!" Wow! What a mean thing to say about the guy holding the queue cards.
* cue cards
I've seen many SNL skits and this competes at the pinnacle! Simple, awesome sketch that you could take on a tour.
Maybe I’m sick in the head but the moment they realized he shot himself I lost it! Such a ride this was, went from such a immature presence to dark in a matter of seconds. Bravo
So after 10 times.....my kids still don't understand.......FART FACE
I feel like since Forte SNL doesn’t do as many of these just absolutely batshit nonsense sketches and I miss them. Like the NASA potato chip sketch. It’s absurdly too another level but so damn funny.
This sketch is so stupid so why am I laughing so hard? I think it's because these actors are committed 100% to this ridiculousness.
I like you.
Very well put. Todays constant breaking and cue cards watching can never work.
Agreed. The commitment sells this 100%.
It's hysterical. Will Forte is awesome
I love it when the actors are so committed to the sketch like this!
Breaking is not charming or endearing. It's just unprofessional and cringeworthy.
Bill Hader talked about this sketch in the latest episode of The Rewatchables! Apparently it got zero laughs when they tried it out, but Lorne Michaels liked it so much so it made it to tv anyway.
It's actually awesome.
Lorne Michaels is all right.
He talked about it a week ago on the Turned out Punk podcast too.
My guess is this aired at 12:56 am.
Hader has said that it played to absolute dead silence during dress rehearsal. During the main show, they followed Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin and just before they went on stage, Brolin turned to them and said, "Ok, guys... Let's shut these fuckers up."
Say what you like about Will Forte, but he always gave every sketch 100%. Every time.
I'm sure everyone only has good things to say about him! His angry sketches are SNL gold.
I WILL say what I like about Will Forte. He is a fart face.
Who is saying what they like about Will, and what is it that they like to say? If it's that he's a fart face, I can assure you, he is not a fart face.
One of the more underrated performers on this show. His characters were hilarious!
Every. Single. Time.
I love Bill Hader's story on Norm's podcast about having the sketch bomb at dress and then when it was showtime, Brolin, knowing it's likely to bomb turn to Will and Bill and says "well.... let's shut these fuckers up"
I don't get it , how is it bombing going to shut them up
Haha he told the same story on The Rewatchables
@@jaygasper4853 as in, they’re going to stop the audience from laughing. Great line.
@@jaygasper4853 Do you laugh a lot watching bombing comedy?
@@jaygasper4853part of the story was Amy Poehler had done some sort of rap that had set the place off and everyone was laughing and this skit directly followed that.
This might just be the worst, most immature skit in SNL history... and I love it
So did Lorne Michaels, apparently.
This sketch was written by 6 year olds. And the fact they decided to play as old men makes it more hilarious for some reason.
cuz they're all acting like they're trying to win an Emmy 😂
You forgot andy samberg sketches
It truly has no redeeming value, but since it's about farts, it's hilarious!
This is one of, if not the, most unhinged, wild and nonsensical sketch in SNL history. An absolute classic and a masterpiece.
I still think potato chip takes that title but this one feels oddly realistic tbh
@@sidiyer841 I'm rewatching it right now, and yeah, strong contender, but not nonsensical enough imho (for the comparison)
th-cam.com/video/sf60XZ_nzpY/w-d-xo.html&feature=share
@Sid Iyer you made this comment A YEAR ago, and I just saw "fart face" and came to the comments to mention the potato chip.
So...a Forte sketch
So, this is what drove Thanos to wipe out half the universe....
I was about to type that :))
You mean Fart Face.
Sjsjsj
even when Thanos snapped these 2 were still alive tormenting the Mad Fart Face
Thanos has farts in his ears
There's something so satisfying about Will Forte screaming
I love when hader and forte share videos
I'm pretty sure it'll be more satisfying to get some help
He gets such energy without losing composure 😄
@@williamturner79Oh relax fartface.
Apparently, I liked this a whole lot more than the audience that night.
Agree, what a bunch of party poopers. Dare I say, they're all a bunch of fartfaces.
I felt the same way …
As the audience
Ok I know the entire audience was basically dead quiet for this entire sketch, but I absolutely love it. It's such a dumb, silly concept but every actor is giving it their all, Brolin's reactions are absolutely hilarious and the "he shot himself" at the end is such a dark, unexpected twist. I genuinely adore this sketch.
A good tell on any sketch is how it ends and when it ends in a death that usually means the writers just had nowhere else to go in the time allotted. Of course this was a purely conceptual sketch and all about commitment and intensity. Overall it worked for me but I don't love endings like this one had.
@@TiqueO6
The reason you don't like the ending is bcuz you're a FARTFACE ! 🦨🎺
@tique06 yeah, i would expect a fartface like you to complain about the ending
"He is a smart face..." slays me. It's like he's channeling a reassuring childhood pep talk, from his mom.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how good Brolin is in this
The funniest part is the immediate affable willingness to cover his ears.
I remember seeing this the first time - Brolin's delivery of "He is a clean face" killed me.
Yeah, weird to see a non comedian host just match the energy so well
And to appreciate how sunburned he appeared.
I love how the vein in his neck pops out
The fact that Josh Brolin is willing to do a sketch like this and has the confidence to allow himself to be the butt of a joke proves how cool he really is. He’s the anti Steven Segal.
Huh? He's an actor - he acted, in comedy
The butt of a joke? I guess that's how his face ended up smelling like farts.
He makes Steven Seagal look like a woman.
segal too... he just doesnt know it lol @@lukess.s
Bro don’t be a fart face
" if that's unreasonable, I never want to be reasonable again." incredible. What an underrated skit.
I love the sketches that were clearly written by Forte, Hader and Mulaney at 2 in the morning.
That audience is the real fartface. This was gold!
Gamora: "They call him Thanos."
Tony: "Oh you mean Fartface?"
Instead of "like" or "dislike" on TH-cam it should be changed to "Fart face" or "Smart face"
This feels like a Kids In the Hall skit. Lol
My thoughts exactly.
sausagesssss 🤣
I was just thinking "this is some Rick Mayall shit right here" when i saw your comment lmao
It feels like the Globo-Chem Pit Pat bit from Mr Show.
Would not have been surprised to see Danny Husk walk in.
Will forte's reaction at 4:07 after being told that the dude is crying is so good.
🤣🤣🤣
OMG I missed it the first time. Thank you for pointing out that comedy gold.
“Pulled a fart face turn around”
I nearly died laughing when Josh Brolin plugged his ears. Just the absurdity of the whole situation is hilarious
For some reason, Brolin standing up for himself with "no, HE is a smart face!" made me laugh really really hard.
Will Forte is the king of that very specific "last sketch after the second music number" vibe
Is it true that Will Forte never break character??
yes
Some say that's his Forte!
So far I've never seen him break and also once someone broke while they were looking at each other and saying nothing and he didn't even smile. he's really good at not breaking
yea I've legit searched TH-cam "will forte break" and it gave me a bunch of results of jimmy fallon breaking lol
yes
"The Kool Aid we're referring to is purely metaphorical"
And spitting it out wont damage anything in this office
i came here cause of norm macdonald live bill hader episode.
I hate people like you. I don't care where the fuck people came from or who brought them here. But yeah, I did the same.
Me too :)
I laughed louder at this comment than at any point in this sketch.
I thank god lorne micheals made this hit the final cut i love it
LOL, Seth Meyers brought this up when he had Josh Brolin on
This is seriously funny. I just watched Will tell the story about this skit. Apparently, it bombed in rehearsal and again, live. He still thinks it’s funny. Me too.
who is here because of last interview of Bill Hader on Letterman!! :)
totally here because of that..!
Oh really? is that on TH-cam?
Yep :)
***** Me xD
Present.
I don't understand why nobody else thinks this is the funniest thing ever recorded in human history. I've seen it a hundred times and it still makes me laugh every time
The concept of absurdism is lost on some.
You obviously have a sense of humor...
...that hasn't matured past the mental capacity of an 8-year-old boy!
funniest thing ever? are you an idiot?
@@EchoesDistant
Lovers of Monty Python embrace this skit.
If you think I´m gonna give this contract to two people who just pulled a fartface turn around on me,you got another thing coming!!
I’m truly convinced that this is how the 1% holds meetings, I mean what else is there to talk about
I guess this is how to defeat Thanos: call him Fart Face
Remember how Bill said this sketch bombed so hard and now I can see what he meant.
Will Forte is an expert at playing these kinds of frowny strange old men.
Is Fart Face related to Greg Stink? They look awfully alike.
Hey he needed a new job when ESPN got all woke.
Greg's dad. Now I see why he turned out like he did.
"Ohhhh, I don't know"
I just saw Hader talking about this sketch. He said it bombed at the table read and bombed even worse at dress rehearsal, but Lorne Michaels loved it so instead of yanking it he moved it up to right after Weekend Update. Hader said the audience was so confused and silent and you could hear everything, even people in the audience whispering, "Whaaaat?" and gasps of non-approval.
Horrible decision!
The audience are a bunch of fartfaces...this was hilarious!
Well, that escalated quickly
wtf audience, i thought this was hilarious
This really shouldn't be as funny as it is. But damn, I'm dying here.
I feel like the premise of this skit is what were to happen if emotionally humans stop developing at the age of eight or nine but we're able to articulate their arguments in a more mature way
Indubitably, I concur with that sentiment wholeheartedly, fart face! 👍
Were - not: we're (we are). Just sayin'.
Didn't even notice the audience not laughing. Too busy farting my face off. I mean laughing...right?
"You got fart in your ears?" 🤣😂🤣😂
😂😂 funniest line
Wife: my husband is probably our there cheating on me
At work: The husband and his gang calling each other fart face.
This is one of the best SNL sketches ever, and this is my first time seeing it. I just can't stop laughing. Will Forte just gave us a masterclass!
josh brolin's recent appearance on late night with seth meyers sent me here
This actually happens in corporate meetings, the last one I went to everyone called Jim ass face.
Shortly after this event, Jim went out to exact his revenge by collecting all 6 infinity stones and snapping half the galaxy into being fart faces.
Will Forte commits so hard to every sketch, I can't remember ever seeing him break character, regardless of how utterly stupid it is. It's quite amazing. Hader is one of the all-time greats, too, but he busts up as much as Fallon used to. I think Forte made him step up his game here...
came here after Brolin was on Seth Meyers, it is as bad as they said it was, but kinda funny
The crowd being not on board for this somehow makes the sketch 10x funnier
I love how all of Will Forte's sketches are aggressively absurd and pointless.
The way Bill Hader described it was way better than the actual thing. They got the fartface line out way to quickly, no set-up at all
I agree!
I'm here after The Norm MacDonald appearance and it sounded much funnier when he talked about it. The idea of ruining someone's life by calling them fart face is what sounded funny to me, but I imagined it being less ridiculous.
one of fortes best. perfect ending, absolutely hilarious
That ending shouldn't have been as funny as it was, I laughed so hard.
This is magic! I can't believe I've never seen this clip before!
Ouch that silence was painful.
The fact that it was moved up by Lorne Michaels as the first sketch airing after the most watched cold open of all time, is so funny to me. This is amazing lol
after Weekend update
This is the fact people need to read !
3:01 "he is a smart face..." most quotable line in the episode
the premise of this is so simple, really.
its a fart face turn around in an office setting.
imagine pitching this to Lorne.
i love forte, I will watch anything hes in.
Brolins "NO,NO,GOD!! I HATE YOU SO MUCH!!" with the hair flopping around is just too much. The genius lies in him being perfectly okay giving someone shit and all it to took to break him was call him the exact same thing. Seen this about ten times, it's always gonna hold up.
This sketch takes on a whole new life if you picture Brolin in his role as Thanos, sitting there talking to them.
“The hardest choices require the strongest wills.”
“Well, it looks to me like you’re an About-to-Cry Face!”
*crying* “No he’s not!”
“FART FAAAAACE!!!”
this deserves so much more laughs. this is literal comedy genius.
It’s the Thanos villain arch.
Will Forte is up there with the Greatest Members of All Time on SNL including Aykroyd, Belushi, Carvey, Farley, Fey, Hader, Hartman, McKinnon, Murray, Myers, Poehler, Radner, Sandler, Spade, Strong, Sudeikis, Thompson, and Wiig! I have never seen Forte in a skit where he didn’t do an Outstanding Job! HE WAS A SOLID PERFORMER!
Easily one of the funniest sketches ever
Seriously! You must not understand real humor. This is one of STUPIDEST things ever put on 'film.'
Idgaf if this is considered one of the worst sketches. This is HILARIOUS 😂😂
This is truly one of my favorite sketches, which probably speaks volumes about my sense of humor.
I crack up every time watching Bill Hader trying to hold in that laugh...He looks like he is about to laugh as soon as Will starts yelling
Will Farte
Before they started this bit. Josh said to them “let’s go shut those fuckers up” Love the dedication they went through with this bit
Anything to do with fart humor , I’m in. They never disappoint..
OMG HOW DID THIS BOMB?!?!?! This and the Casey & Jacey Kasem sketch... the audience is STOOPID.
Absolutely the silliest little skit on SNL ....and one of the BEST ... becoz there acting is SPOT ON. 🤩😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Spot on. Take a drink
What if instead of the new " GO BRANDON " chant we just start calling Joe Biden FART FACE 😏
I love how fartface and bill aren't looking at Josh but somewhere to his left. Adds to the surreal absurdity
Not alot of people can pull this skit off ... Hader and forte are the chosen few that can
"Turned Out A Punk" brought me here.
They put this sketch in the live show, even though it bombed at dress, purely because Lorne thought it was funny. The very muted audience reaction kind of proves he was wrong.
The audience must have been too busy smelling it's own farts. I couldn't help but laugh, just by looking at their facial expressions while they scolded Josh Brolin. Totally absurd situation. Loved it.
Yeah Bill Haders interview with David Letterman brought me here too!
TheYanni75 Forte was great, hah
+TheYanni75 Agreed. A huge part of the SNL appeal is that, similar to Monty Python (to a lesser extent, granted), they have a bunch of super experimental, esoteric material than maybe only a few will find funny. It's called pushing the envelope, and I applaud them.
I think the first half is quite funny.
This is the same series as the NASA chips and the Christmas gifts. Boys taunting each other as serious businessmen.
This is like when an interaction among 12 or 13 year old boys gets scaled up to a board room with adult men. Love it. 🤣
3:12
Best two seconds on TH-cam, no context necessary.
How did I miss this piece of Will Forte deliciousness when it aired? This sketch has him written all over it.
I watched this live when I was 8. I thought it was hilarious. I wasn’t wrong.
In case you wondered what the white house is like...
This wasn't that funny but the way he Brolin yelled fart face over and over again without screwing it up amazes me.
I love how there's just complete silence x) Apparently this got to air only because Lorne Michaels loved it
I think this only works because it’s absolutely self-contained.
The audience not laughing and nobody cracking really makes it timeless to me
"He is a never cry face!" Thats right. You're a big, brave boy. Not a fart face or a cry face. Is a smart face.
4:10 I'd say that's why they never did Fart Face 2 on SNL ever.
Crazy that the SNL audience doesn't laugh at a sketch when it's actually hilarious every second
