This figure is one of my first Toyhax purchases, and even all these years later, it still looks great.

Trypticon was my Holy Grail Transformer as a kid and finally got him in 2011 when I paid $40.00 to get him at a vintage toy store and been in my collection ever since.
I got mine on sale at K-B Toy store on the mall and I got mine for $70.00. and mine still works after all these years.

2:39 Wipe-Out did get two toys: a redeco of Reveal the Shield Windcharger in United and Titans Return Necro, only available with Titans Return Trypticon (he's Full-Tilt's Titan Master partner). As for how he came from, the artist made him since he was gifted a G1 Tailgate toy.
Trypticon's G1 tech spec card said he also had "mind-controlling hypno-beam from optical sensors".
Image if they included that in the cartoon or comic !

Glad you reviewed the Toyhax set for Trypticon I got the Platinum Edition of him and used the Toyhax and I love how he looks, I also got the set for Metroplex and It just looks so good on him as well.

Never seen an actual Trypticon before. At the time it was very difficult to get individual episodes without the internet and whatnot. Not even DVDs just VHS which if you could manage you could record them off the TV if you got in at the right time but mostly I watched the ones you could buy in store and as such for the longest time this big guy was little more than a character who fights Metroplex in the intro sequence. I did have a VHS of the season 4 unintentional start/finale as such and I had a Scorponok though. Cheers for showing him off.

I put this upgrade kit on my Trypticon I’ve had as a kid. It’s amazing.
I had the BWII version of Trypticon as a kid, the one with the horn. I never knew about the extra functionality to connect with Onslought and Motormaster! Not sure if the BWII version had those adapters. Was a very fun toy and made a good opponent for my battered and bruised yard-sale Metroplex.
Nothing screams more of the 80s than a giant transforming purple robot dinosaur. In the series Trypticon is always being pitted against Metroplex, but am I the only one who thinks that the more appropriate rival for Trypticon is OMEGA SUPREME? Think about it- Omega Supreme's black, yellow and red color scheme pairs well against Trypticon's black, purple and green. Plus, they both have a motorized walking action feature, too.
The Decepticon City fused with Onslaught and Motormaster respectively.

There was indeed a figure made of Wipe out. It was a recolour of 2012 Windcharger and i offer the best of luck finding him!
Finally, someone reviewed g1 Trypticon.......yesss!! I've only got the platinum version & he's so awesome but does anyone know if there's any significant difference between the 2? Thank you Patriot Prime for another awesome review 👏👏👏
According to the wiki:
"This reissue features non-reflective eye stickers and shorter guide stripe stickers on the central ramp. There are several tooling changes, such as larger power switches, battery covers that are held shut by screws, molded detail replacing the large bearings on his legs, and bizarrely, added plastic on his feet that keeps the purple "U" pieces from being flush with the rest of the foot. He features dull grey plastic as opposed to silver, and the thigh's holes that connect the grey piece is now retooled to make the piece plug in properly. Brunt's cannon is now a friction joint instead of a ratchet joint."

Awesome review of this guy! I got my G1 Metroplex (rubber tires & complete) in the same box of toys as my G1 Omega Supreme, Dinobots, and Jetfire... so of course, from then until a few years back, I needed a G1 Trypticon to battle Metroplex! 😅 (Funny how that works, innit...? 😂)
Well, fast forward to 2021, when a buddy and I went to visit another buddy's vintage toy store (Classic Plastic) in Valdese, NC, just about 20 minutes from our town... I had a box full of figures that I had decided to get rid of and he wanted to have a look at them, so we went on down and had a look around while they went through my stash...
Long story short, found a complete (pretty sure?) G1 Trypticon, a complete G1 Piranhacon set, and most of a Computron (minus 1 bot and most of the individual bot weapons, unfortunately...) and was able to pick up all of them with the credit/cash they offered me for my stash, and still had cash & credit leftover...!
I think I ended up using the rest later on to snag some vintage Joe vehicles and bits that I wanted, plus a couple of figures my buddy needed. All in all, one hell of a good haul! 👍
I will definitely be getting those Toyhax sticker upgrades for my Trypticon... I was wanting to do a good cleaning on him anyway, even though his decals are still pretty good. Just the same, I'd like them to be crisp and fresh looking on a thoroughly cleaned figure and with the awesome upgrades, just like I'm going to do with my G1 Metroplex, although I already have the upgrades for Metroplex and his partners, (but it's a LOT of stickers to remove and cleanup the sticky residue, lol).
He's going to look awesome upgraded and battling an upgraded Metroplex!

I believe in that battle with the Dinobots in the comic, he was recalled by Ratbat due to exceeding his energon allotment for that mission.

Definitely the best OG G1 Trypticon video I've seen. Those decals definitely look great on him especially on Full tilt. Have I mentioned before that he's my favorite Titan lol?

from what i can tell, the only difference between this one and the encore is the encore comes with batteries and the tail/battery compartment comes with a screw so it's not lost as easily.

Transformers Encore series never had a Trypticon reissue released; are you maybe referring to the Encore Omega Supreme or Sky Lynx, which also used batteries?

If you get a loose used Trypticon G1 or a boxed one with stickers applied, more often than not the stickers will be damaged over time.
Toyhax repro stickers can get you that mint sticker look.
Also, the Toyhax upgrade stickers (not featured on the original G1 figure) were created by Toyhax it’s their original design; that set can be added for extra stickers/deco.

My brother got most of the cons with the exception of ultra magnus, and Trypticon he loved because of his love for dinosaurs.....this guy is cool.

I’ve got the Titans Return version. It’s a pretty cool figure.
Wipeout is kind of an oddity, being a black repaint of Tailgate. I’m not sure why Budiansky and Perlin made him with Full Tilt being right there. With Windcharger being the only original minibot left that needs to get a Deluxe update, I expect a new one to come eventually and to be quickly retooled into a new Tailgate. Hopefully a Wipeout will come from that so I can complete my Trypticon set. Interestingly, the Titan Master that make’s Full Tilt’s head for the Titan Trypticon is designed to look like Wipeout.
I think the only thing this beast has over the TR version is the city mode, this dude has a sprawling plot and enough towers to look convincing

Man, if people actually have a problem with you putting unofficial stickers on your own toys, I got bad news for them regarding what kids did to a lot of those back in the 80's

@@PatriotPrimeReviews interesting...I was meant to go overseas with my scout platoon but I was a father to be and they never could get us ready in time to go as far as I understand it.
I was in basic training in 1998 and ets'd in 2004 but we weren't used that much until the events of the twin towers calamity. After that they ( my unit the 42nd 102nd armor division) had gone to Iraq and later to Germany.
I had a son ready to deploy from my ex wife 1 now around each time.
Blackhawk down movie showed me I wasn't ready for combat with their mother being only with them...but events would alter my plans and from there my scitzo angle starts playing itself out a bit.
So it gets complicated from there.
But the more power to you.
Thank you for your advice..I've contacted matrix workshop with upgrades to help me and I bought there product twice now so we'll see what they do for me...but I'm up and coming.

i remember getting trypticon for my birthday. my mom payed $50 for i know because she didn't take of the sticker. what was sad my brother had a lot of anger issue's & he took my trypticon outside & destroyed him. i don't know what got up his ass that day & why he did it. he did this to most of my transformers.
