All these reviews are true. I went in to buy an XLT today and asked for an OTD price with breakdowns of dealer cost, rebates, fees, etc. The MSRP was $26,500. The manager gave me a standard sheet with no breakdowns etc. The price was $38000. I made an OTD offer of $33,000 and the manager actually said, "no thank you." No counter offer, no negotiation, nothing. Now, I will buy one from another dealer and then drive onto this lot abd show the manager he could've been more cordial. BTW, the dealer was Bell Rd. Ford in Phoenix. Shove it!
The selling point for the Maverick was supposed to be, it was a small truck, but at a low budget price. But it's sold so well. that I knew they would up the price.
my husband loves his 2024 Maverick XLT Hybrid! It has met all of his expectations
Of course they would!
That is so fantastic to hear!
@@Midgiemoonlol you paid 34k for a car that’s realistically 28k?
@@taxationistheft7 lol please stop being mad at other people for being a poor.
So roughly a 30% price increase to the MSRP in 4 years????? No wonder everyone is so poor, the cost of everything is outpacing most Americans yearly raises 3x
Thanks Biden's handlers!
You guys are getting raises?
@@karlm8682if you think things will get cheaper under Republican administration, get ready for a surprise.
2 and a half years in actual time. Makes it worse
@@lordflashheart3706best way to get a raise is to just move companies hiring externally the last few years has paid more than actually putting in work and moving up.
So much for “most affordable truck on the market”. The days where the XL started at less than $20k was not that long ago, and yet long gone.
Yes AWD hybrid that now can tow 4k and still get 40mpg. It's what we all have been wanting!!
50k?
@@buckoshot1979price will be 31k for the XLT hybrid AWD version.
@@buckoshot1979 Lariat will likely be close to $40k US
@@lucasclifford9881 add markups and tax. Close to 50k
@@buckoshot1979 here's the Ford Maverick Hybrid Starting Prices:
XL Hybrid FWD: $26,295
XL Hybrid AWD: $28,515
XLT Hybrid FWD: $28,795
XLT Hybrid AWD: $31,015
Lariat Hybrid AWD: $36,735
If you go to the top of the line 2.0 AWD off-road Tremor. You're looking at a price around $41,000.
Otherwise. Wait for China's to largest auto maker, BYD to start manufacturing and shipping to the USA from Mexico their small $11,000 EV. Everybody seems to be complaining about US automotive pricing. So you there you go. The damage this will do to the US economy could be Hugh.
One Zonk for the infotainment screen not being integrated into the dash and another Zonk for you being in the office. We need you on throttle man.
One thing I can say about last year’s infotainment system is the unexplainable cubbyhole attached to the right of the screen. Not a good look. Glad that was addressed, eliminated, and the screen expanded. Also a sync 4 upgrade.
Keep us updated dude. Can’t wait to see the first drive
Best color way I've seen from Ford ❤
I have a 21 Maverick xl. About 23k out the door with sales tax and delivery. Work it pretty hard and zero issues. It’s the turbo. I was shocked how cheap it was for brand new with prices so high on most other vehicles. Looks like Ford had added things that aren’t needed and will price it into extinction
The hybrid system on Fords is essentially a borrowed version of the Toyota system that's found in the Rav4 and the Prius, which is very reliable. The eCVT is not a conventional transmission; it's an electronically controlled planetary gear unit that is extremely reliable. I can't speak for the reliability of the rest of the vehicle, but the hybrid system should not be problematic.
Thanks for that background intel
I looked at one few months ago at my local dealership. It was the Tremor package, finally no mark up. I definitely would consider one.
The Maverick looks great! However, I hate how the Maverick isn’t going the way of the Ranger, where it was a good cheap truck with an affordable price.
you must not know what the price of a Ranger is. Think $10,000 more for each trim level. Ordered a 2025 Maverick Lariet Hybrid AWD, Black Out package and 4K tow $41,000 my last new vehicle.
@@stanleykirby2937I didn’t know that. Ford is ridiculous for pricing small trucks at $41,000.
Almost $10k increase in the base price?! These motor companies are getting so greedy. More people are going to hold onto their vehicles a lot longer. This is ridiculous.
When any company is selling more of a product than they can produce it only makes sense that they'd raise the price. Clearly enough people can afford it to saturate their production volume.
@@andyh4464doubt it bro, mavericks used to be a rare car now the ford by my house has like 15
Where do you get $10k? The original Maverick could be had for $21,495 (the $19,995 was without a mandatory $1,500 destination charge). 2025 costs $27,890 for a difference of $6,395.
And you aren't buying the same vehicle. You are getting a new and improved eCVT, push button start, 13.2" screen with Sync 4A, 8" driver screen, auto climate control. It isn't worth the $6,395 but Ford HAS improved the base Maverick significantly. Inflation accounting for roughly half of that increase and the price is not bad at all.
@@kylenowak6300 Wow push button start AND auto climate control. Revolutionary!
I feel the reason the Maverick was so popular WAS due to the price. It does show prices have and still are high.
They are now sitting on dealer lots, so that tells
On top of raising prices of every vehicle in the lineup, Ford also now charges extra for EVERY color except Oxford white. Still, it seems like gouging customers is their # 1 priority 🤬. Great review as always, Joe.
Nice rig. Thnx for the review bruh. Everything is more $$ now. I am officially priced out of everything on four wheel. I guess. I guess it's the metro bus for me.
Used prices are starting to drop. I think my next vehicle will be used. I'm even seeing sub 30k mile CUV hybrids for around $20k now.
@@ElijahRock92 Well, perhaps I'll follow your lead. Thnk u sir.
Joe, I'm buying as many of these as I can get my hands on for my fleet, the customers love them! Thanks for the update!
You are so very welcome Gary!
It's a damn shame they raised the price to a point where it doesn't really matter. Cool truck but its not the affordable truck option we needed.
Still $10k less than any midsize truck.
@@lucasclifford9881 still the truck we got and not the truck we needed.
Cheap truck that is no longer cheap.
Seems everything is getting pricey.
New American cars, their lights are crooked and bigger, and the LEDs are bigger. This is the problem with most American full-size pickup SUV cars. The headlights should be very small and simple with the best exposure.
Broke boy comments incoming 😂😂
Price increase for a hybrid with all wheel drive I can get behind but we really don't need bigger screens and all that when we should be watching the road anyways. If you're going to increase the price you need to increase the value to the truck customer, better fuel economy or payload or towing etc. we're not paying for phones with bigger screens and better cameras, we're paying for utility vehicles
No cheap trucks available anymore
Would have been great to get an XL hybrid in the first couple of years now looking back.
The new front end plus, the price jump, and Ford removing physical A/C controls is enough for me to longer be interested.
Just ordered my second Maverick Monday. Lariat,Eruption Green, AWD hybrid, 4k tow, bed extender, tan”ish” interior, keypad, few other options $40,380. More then i wanted to spend but less then anything close to it. Have enjoyed the heck out or my XLT Maverick hybrid. Getting just over 40 mpg combined
are you in the trades? Or just it just help you feel manly?
Joe, FYI, Just found out it does. XLT, does have push start!!!!
That is awesome to hear! Thanks for sharing that Timothy!
2:39 hahahahha, nice one 😂
Excited to see your review soon and thanks for the info!
Love that Green color!! I have a 22 XLT FX4 in Velocity Blue and I love it. Just wish it had the new Screen and Hybrid drive train. Might get the upgraded screen from Ford when they are availabe
People bought them because of the low price that made it seem like a deal. Then they go and jack it up lol. Classic big corporate move.
Pretty much!
So they raised the price 7000 and gave it less power?
That’s the Lariant trim in the video
How does adding a different screen and updating a look, as if shaping a turd differently, doesn't make it a turd cost an increase of 10k,i dont understand.
Joe and Lori ( ALSO OSCAR!) Lori thanks for all you do. HIS IS QUITE a truck! I can dig it! See you guys on another ride!( Ps sort of going through MEDICAL stuff but checking in to youtube when I can> SHARING videos still.
I totally understand my friend! I will keep your health in my thoughts!
@@RaitisRides Thanks Joe. Starting Cancer treatment .
I like it
Well, with all that new tech in today's cars I'm not sure I really want, my next vehicle will probably be a low-mileage older car or truck. But I'll probably take a look at the truck. I see that Andre of TFL just popped up on my suggested videos. He's also reviewing the updated Maverick in Eruption Green.
Just ordered a 2025 and I’m curious about the mileage. Keep us posted!
I am curious as well! Stay tuned!
I’ll stick with my 2022 Maverick. I ordered the XLT trim level in Velocity Blue with a 2.0 ecoboost, XLT Luxury Package, Co-Pilot 360, tow package, and full size spare. The sticker came in at $28,535 which included destination and delivery. My city driving averages 28mpg and highway is 34mpg. I couldn’t be any happier with it. Great job Ford!
What for a while and see how the love affair progresses.
@@fpsharing whatever! I think your mommy’s call you.
@@fpsharing Stop trolling everybody, admit your jealous and that you can't afford one. Your life must suck! Negative Nancy.
Ford really delivered on this update. Nice styling, hybrid, AWD and 4K towing. This makes a lot of sense for a daily driver ready for some weekend warrior duties.
excellent video , appreciate the hard work
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
Looks great. Seems like an odd choice to put the volume knob on the right side of the center stack though?
Got to keep it away from the start stop button.
Hey joe, is this lariat interior still brown or is that a new cream color? I loved the truck
It's a cream color. I think I prefer the desert brown.
Joe love your channel it’s number 1 on my list sometimes not for the reviews but ur personality but cc like u need to highlight the facts about these manufacturers recalls a article that I saw stated that ford paid out 4.8 billion, yes billion dollars in warranty recall repairs again love the channel but ppl need to know these facts
4k tow package has always been there, also the hybrid has a CVT because that's how their hybrid system works. Last version of the truck didn't have AWD Hybrid because the CVT couldn't handle the AWD system apparently, the new one no has a beefed up CVT.
Will be getting this asap
Ford will be very happy to hear that!
I guess somebody has to 😒
There's a sucker born every minute
Hi
Joe, How Are You Doing Nice To See You In Here🇸🇦
We want pickups that are single cab short bed!!!!!!!!!!!! Like the old rangers or the old tacomas or the old Mazda pickups that were really rangers or the old silverados of the 90s!!!!! Cmon 🤬
I owned a Mazda B2200! Yes! It was great.
@@chuckcribbs3398 great pickup! If maintained properly most lasted 300-500k miles
I have a 2013 regular cab 4x4 Tacoma. It has been great and only 48k miles. I waited 1.5 years for my maverick hybrid order and gave up. Keeping the Tacoma and not paying these high prices.
I'm with you 1000% I want that option too 😡
The only thing I don't like is the light blue dashboard. It should be black so that it goes with all of the paint jobs
The navy pier always looks lighter in videos and pictures, but is actually quite dark. It does go with most the paint choices. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but once I saw it in person I did...it's something different than any other vehicle.
They said MSRP was supposed to go down wtf?
Love how everybody slammed the 2017 and up Ridgeline for being a unibody pickup but now the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick are both as well. No truckbed shudder on bumps.
People have bad memories for sure.
Now all they need to do is give the Maverick the 2.3L engine from the focus rs, lift it, and call it the Maverick Raptor
Love your video Joe
It's Gorgeous.
I think it’s a pretty sweet little truck, and compared to a SR5 Tacoma, it’s still about $20,000 cheaper. But with that said, I’m still disappointed at how quickly the price increased just over the past few years.
I guess Ford discovered they could charge more.
They would kill it with a single cab work truck version. Even an extended cab
And a bench seat.
New Maverick getting close to Ranger pricing.
Hoping that new screen can fit in my 2023 xlt...
only thing i would ask ford is if i can get B&O sound on the XL
I think they are tying to keep the price low on that trim Miguel
18 plywood sheets. 1/4 inch or 3/4 inch? It matters
They funally removed that pointless cubby hole 🎉
Joe, the Hybrid has not been the base engine since the 2024 Model Year, and the EcoBoost has always had a 4K Tow Package as optional…
Its looking nice but at these prices, A ridgeline may be a better choice if you are going with a lot of options.
I wish this could be part of the ford Australia lineup.
Great preview but I don’t see the smart trailering technology as an option in the build website
It will be added I guess.
Is it fun to drive? Waiting for an on throttle.
Can you get the Lobo's performance upgrades without the street truck look?
You could get the 4k tow package in the older versions it's not new
Finally someone at Ford realized that the previous front was really ugly....
Now, if this have 1500lbs payload, how is it that some F150 trims have just above 1600lbs payload????
Also all wheel drive hybrid gets 40 miles per gallon and towing 4K. On the hybrid now.. in a hybrid is now the starting price of 26,000 for the base hybrid all wheel drive around 28 with the 4K towing
Right off the 13 2 is located too high IMO given it seems to affect front vision and I think 10 or 12 would have been better. And as for the Hybrid I'd have thought by now 4x4 without the overworked Trubo with a normally aspirated 4 maybe a supercharger instead.
Maybe you will like it more in person.
Let's go Toyota!
Was that physical temp control being removed necessary??? Now the button cluster looks too empty... Not a deal breaker but it's weird.
I’m not surprised that they did this at all. Look at the 2023 Ford escape and onward they all have the same thing. even the new 2025 Ford bronco sport is getting the same thing. I think Ford is just trying to streamline their production
Great for daily driving, I'd take one of these over a sedan.
Joe, do you know if the XLT comes with a push start, or is it still a key?
I don't believe so Timothy.
$40k for a value mini truck doesn't make sense; at this point I'm just buying a ridgeline
I don't really like the extended screen length and no more knobs. Looks too plain. The knobs were a very attractive design.
Yes it’s worth it
so no FWD option on any of the trims? no FWD hybrid only?
I would prefer a FWD naturally aspirated version.
Go buy the older Maverick then 🤷🏿♂️. I for one am glad AWD is standard 🏆
Thought there were rumors of a street performance trim possibly under the name Coyote. Pretty bummed that hasn’t been true so far, don’t think the value of this is there compared to the ranger with the price rise, but I would be interested in a Coyote variant as someone who lives in the city
Isn't that what the lobo trim is?
Why don't they offer an extended cab with 6 foot bed? They could keep the same wheelbase. Just shrink the cab and have a larger bed.
Because it is a compact truct.
@@RaitisRides Just the rear seat would be lost. With reverse opening half doors the extended part of the cab could be used for storage. The physical size of the truck would remain the same. You'd lose the back seat but get a longer bed that would be more useful for some people.
i wished they offered the raptor trim i mean the Bronco, F-150 and Ranger have it just complete pack and offer it on the maverick.
I really think Ford made a good decision with making the Hybrid have an AWD option
The bumper integrating vertically up into headlight area looks off and is borderline horrendous
Hopefully it looks better in person!
Agreed. I'll keep my 2023.
Im going to guess in the upper 20s or maybe bang on 30 MPG highway for the hybrid AWD and the upper 30s for city
It will be interesting to see what the actual numbers are!
Just because you can charge more for something, does that mean you should,?
What happened to the days when dealers gloated pricing under msrp? Now everything is over!!
Thanks Joe....I'd buy the non hybrid without the CVT....these will sell. $26,000 is a BARGAIN
I think you are right!
What about the XLT
Hot pepper red should not have been discontinued, shelter green should be available.
Going to wait on the Toyota Stout. I am not sold on the headlights. Lariat headlights look ok. XL and Xlt headlights I dont care for. Price is not worth it.
No dual exhaust??
Where's the sport maverick video? He's talking about?
It goes like tomorrow at 6AM ET
Looks like Kia + Honda + the old Ford SportTrac all in one
Time to upgrade my Maverick
Oh wow! I am so glad that you like this one.
Hopefully a plug in hybrid in 2026? 🤔
Can't find the Lobo video. Is it out yet? Maybe link it in the video. Thanks
That actually comes out tomorrow!
@@RaitisRides thanks
$39k for a Lariat AWD Hybrid that gets 40mpg with 1400lb payload and can tow 4k lbs with a brake controller and pro trailer features? That's still an incredible deal by today's standards and I can't wait for my 2025 Eruption Green AWD Hybrid Lariat.
Wait for them to hit the road and it turns out the MPG got neutered. That's my main worry.
Nope. Not worth the extra money. Dealers will make it impossible for normal people to buy one
The whole appeal of this truck was that it was affordable and capable. Going from $19K to $26K on a *base* trim is quite frankly, a dumb move. And you knows what will be sad? Thanks to Ford bumping up the price, sales will go down and they'll eventually stop production of the Maverick. Then they'll blame the customers instead of themselves. Typical Ford.
We will see how it all pans out!
Is anyone else seeing this? The new Maverick looks like the first Honda Ridgeline and the new Ridgeline looks like a Ford Ranger?
An increase in base prices of 25%+ from the 2022 launch year, ok, the 2.0 I4 turbo HP is down because they are supposedly using the rating for California for all, why not just have an asterisk by California model
Where’s the link to the sport trim?
That one goes live tomorrow.
I like the new grille, the fang headlights, the LOBO and the AWD Hybrid
