Um, actually, given that Cheryl has everyone's powers, we can assume that she also took the power of Archie's abs, and since we all know that is THE most powerful ability out there in the Archieverse, that comet was in fact stopped by Archie's abs. The rest of the powers and Cheryl were completely inconsequential to the whole scenario.

Exactly what I thought of, too. It's that, but also how quickly they jump from one insane thing happening to the next. Exactly like children on a playground. "Oh no, the floor is lava, we have to cross the room while staying on the furniture! Oh, look, a meteor is coming from the sky, we need to combine our superpowers to stop it in its tracks! Oh no, the evil Doctor Evil is here to zap away all our powers, we have to hide!" And so on. XDDDD
I think I’ve made this exact comment before. They’re really just throwing out everything they can think of to one-up each other lol thank god for Alex covering this show
I like that every other show that Alex has covered, he only made like 1 or 2 videos about them, but for Riverdale, he's made videos for pretty much the entire show. It just kept getting progressivily more insane so he couldn't help it.
Riverdale is synonymous with giving a giant middle finger to every rule and guideline for coherent storytelling in serialized TV shows. Doesn't make the show "brilliant" as it's more of a "You did it. You crazy son of a bitch, you did it" type of thing.
😂😂😂 They seriously have no idea what the hell they're doing and I truly believe this is the worst, most insanely written show (with good actors) I have ever, and will ever, see. It's so bad, but I keep watching it for some reason and yell at my TV... while making fun of everything and getting more and more angry at how stupid and strange it is.
Yeah, what you said could be applied to all of the other seasons, but season 6 was weirdly coherent The magic and the other elements used aren't just thrown at us and we're supposed to accept it, it made sense and (unlike some other shows) they used timetravel and other dimensions in a very interesting and coherent way Even the writing was weirdly good, it doesn't even look like the same show to be honest. How it makes you think like the town has changed it's name and the "everything changed" thing is just to show that all of the caracthers are different now but then suddenly Rivervale was actually a parallel universe to Riverdale and they must fix it, that was a really nice way of playing with your audience Season 6 also fixed another big issue, they're not teens now FINALLY, so it makes sense that they can do all of they're doing, Betty is from teh FBI, Veronica now has age to open a business and all of that And even if they're supposedly teens again next season, I guess the plot would be for them to go back to the future and not the "teens solving murder" thing from the past seasons Of course I'm saying all of this guessing you watched the season, if not I would reccomend you to, just skip all of the others or se a review of them on youtube (you won't miss much)
It feels like a few seasons ago the writers were like "you what everyone's into? True crime and mafia shows!" And now the writers are like "you know what everyone's into? Superpowers and multiverses!!" At this point, I haven't watched since season 3 and only keep up via this channel, but oh my god... It feels like an ongoing prank within Hollywood that is taken wayyy too far
I have to say, as hilariously awful as this show is, it gave us "Deliver the beanie unto me." Which I suspect is the first time that has ever been said, ever, anywhere.
I think Riverdale is try to rapidly copy what’s popular nowadays, but they can’t just forget about the original materials so we get this. Like a color-changing chameleon on steroids
That line had me dying! Imo, it's right up there in the Riverdale dialogue Hall of Fame, alongside other classics like Jughead's "I'm weird" speech and Archie's line about "the epic highs and lows of high-school football".
The thing I love about Riverdale is that I can't predict it. I watch way to much tv; movies, shows, you name it, so predicting what's happening is becoming a usual thing but with Riverdale this is impossible 😂 so I really enjoy watching it
I think it would've made more sense if they introduced magic and Sabrina much earlier in the show. Like when Betty saw Polly's twins floating in the air and passed out, I thought that's how they were going to introduce magic, satanic rituals, and Sabrina in the show. Especially since The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina aired on Netflix not too long after. I seriously thought that we were going to get a crossover much sooner.
Tbh as someone who barely made through Season 1 , and had to force myself to watch Season 2 and then kinda understand the plot of Season 3 and then the game of Season 4 and beginning of Season 5….. I nearly had a stroke when I read “Riverdale characters get powers and supernatural abilities”
And to think it was barely three years ago that everyone thought Riverdale couldn’t get crazier than a knockoff board game driving its players to ritualistic murder and suicide.
@@CaseyCampbell17 same and even If it has got bad i have a Connection to this Show. 4 years ago i used to watch season 1 and 2 with my 2 Best friends during Summer Holidays we had the best time of our lives. Unfortunately we are no longer friends and it now feels like a sweet dream...
This show had been going downhill for awhile, but after the time-jump, it just became supernatural fanfiction. And with the massive drop in popularity after they stupidly decided to take this route for some reason, the writers apparently decided to just erase everything to before the time-skip to eliminate the stupid fanfiction crap. It was both the smartest and dumbest decision they could have made. And Cheryl's magic use in resurrecting the dead and destroying the comet may be the cringiest thing I've ever seen.
I’m almost in a state of cringe/horrific awe that they literally had the balls to say “you know what, fuck it, fuck this shit, fuck” and canonically erase everything , which would include all the Sabrina cameos and etc as well. they 100% just went “actually no”, used that script to roll a fat af blunt , then subsequently smoked it. And it started out as a teen murder series. now they’re fucking whiplashing asteroids or some shit lol
@@danielsedan yep literally everything from season 1, episode 1 to the end of season 6 effectively never happened as it was all cosmically reset with only Jughead having any memory of it

The fact that they have a a comet in the show and yet they don’t use Archie’s abs to solve it is a missed opportunity. This does prove they watch Alex’s videos bc they have the comet plot but they didn’t want to make it obvious that they watch his videos so they did superpowers
My pity goes to the actors, especially the main cast, who have to say the most insane dialogue in history with straight faces. Them main actors just wanted to be in a teen drama 😫😫
and the fact that they are all actually so talented actors and they are waisting their talents for almost 7-8 years now on riverdale… it’s insane. it was clever from skeet and the other people who dissapered during the show to leave this whole mess before this whole… i dont even know what to call it

I haven't actually watched Riverdale since about a half-way through season 2, which is when it became too much for me, since then I've only watched it through Alex Meyers's videos, and if these are too insane for me, I can't imagine what the actual show would be like. P.S.: I actually liked season 1, I thought it was good, and then it just exploded into a mountain of nonsensical, and apeshit-crazy stuff I never thought was possible in one single show.
same I gave up after S2 because it became horrible but now watching these videos....its so ridiculous that I cant believe the show is still going. S1 feels like a completely different show
Same! I only watched season 1, which I enjoyed. Then watched season 2 when the twins were floating in the air and I thought we would get something cool out of it. But nothing.
I cannot tell you how many times I rolled my eyes during this video. Even Archie's Weirdest Mysteries never got THIS crazy! That show was actually kind of good, but this?! This is just... absolutely insane! The superpowers and the Biblical plagues - was including those really necessary? Why is it all centered around Jughead - isn't Archie technically the main character? And was it really necessary to have a kiss be the way to transfer all the powers? What are these people on?!
This is how I’ve been keeping up with Riverdale without ripping my eyes and ears off. Thanks Alex for making a horribly insane show actually entertaining.
I think they were trying to replicate Stranger Things when they made it: a group of small-town teens trying to solve a mystery uncover a dark supernatural force. But not wanting to seem like they were outright copying, they went with the drug dealer/mafia boss angle first and then enacted the supernatural part waaaaay too late, and combining that with the fact that they're using the Archie Comics characters just makes this an absolute disaster of a show.
Nah I think it started out as a normal high school teen drama- the first season had nothing like this. Then they saw the popularity of stranger things and marvel and all the many magical series there are on streaming services and completely changed tact
I re-watched this whole series of “riverdale is mess..” and I think it cured my depression!! No but seriously I laughed sooo hard and loved it and love ur whole channel! U R AMAZING KEEP UP THIS HILARIOUS WORK!! Just so u know u make me happy
What I’m most upset about is how they literally reversed all of Sabrina’s character development and ending for her entire show in less then like 2 minutes… she literally had nothing to do with this and the fact they felt they had to stick her in there was so unnecessary..
Bruh what? Greendale and riverdale are neighbouring towns in the same universe filled with madness. Cheryl and sabrina got ties together, she wanted to bring back life and sabrina is the best
@@camilagrijalva4109 It would have been easier for her to just hand wave it. The show has legitimate fans of the crazy but if we're honest, the fact that it gives us a exposition dump about Sabrina is really telling that from a writing perspective, they still suck.
Right I totally agree! Knowing what Sabrina’s character is like, it would have made sense to for her help them defeat Percival to the end. But no, she only helps with the resurrection bit and then just leaves them to save Riverdale on their own?? It’s out of character especially since she’s an incredibly powerful witch…
How did this show go from two kids trying to run away and the struggles of four teenage kids trying to uncover the mystery, to this supernatural, biblical, apocalyptic thing??
Every time I hear something about Riverdale, it sounds like the writers are either spinning a random story wheel or just writing down dreams they’ve had once and barely remember
My wife watches this show and I had a blast watching random episodes of this season with zero context. How people just out of nowhere would state what their powers were was really funny.
"what if we switched genres every season without laying proper context or coherent storytelling narratives to not make it too absurd? 🤔" - Riverdale writers probably
I remember how in the beginning of this season (or season 5, it all blurs together for me) it was nice to have the time jump to see them become adults but then it's like they forgot about it. Betty and TBKs story line, it seemed like it was thrown in every so often to make it seem like they hadn't forgotten about it but in the end I don't even remember who it was or how she killed him. That was the whole big start to them becoming adults. That's all the trailer showed for the season. I feel like they took the superpower thing and ran way to far with it when they could have done something so much better with them being out of school. Also what happen to all of them working at the school again. It's like that was forgotten too
I used to read a ton of Archie comics as a kid, and the craziest story then was like Archie's car wouldn't start when he was supposed to pick Veronica up for a date
I absolutely loved the first season and boy am I glad that I haven’t watched after the end of that season. Alex’s videos are the only way I could handle learning what happened
Y'know, I'm guessing that Madelaine Petsch typically in press interviews is the only one who looks like they want to be there because her storylines are so completely batshit she can at least have more fun. Also the concept of doing a classic Archie comics season for their final season (as I understand it) is at least interesting.
This show didn't just jump the shark, it jumped the entire Elasmobranchii fish subclass going all the way back 450 million years to when the first proto-shark appeared.
Season 1: Murder of Jason Blossom Season 6: Parallel universes colliding, superpowers, superheroes, witches, witchcraft, ghosts, time travel, mind control, angels, demons, Cheryl becoming a Firestarter and the devil himself
Actually, seeing as how this show should have ended when they graduated high school and it seems like Skeet Ulrich is the only one who understood this, them going into a direction like this for this past season makes all of the sense. But also? Why keep Polly resurrected, but not Jason?
I'm disappointed that there's no reaction to "Veronica that's queerbaiting" "That's not queerbaiting, it's saving the world". I haven't watched Riverdale since the first episode of season four but that line alone made me want to watch the newest episode just to hear it in action 😂😂
@@chexmixkitty YES!! 😂 when Veronica gives Cheryl everyone’s powers she tells cheryl she has to kiss her in order to do it, and Cheryl goes “Veronica, that’s queerbaiting” and Veronica responded “it’s not queerbating, it’s saving the world”. Legitimate lines that someone wrote and forced these people to say
The thing is, Riverdale has gone crazy but I think if it included magic and powers at the start it would’ve been better. For seasons on end they excluded those mysteries for so long (like for instance the Gargoyle king just being Cheryls mom) etc, like if they did magic and stuff from the beginning (which could’ve happened since Riverdale is next to Greendale) it would’ve been a way better show. Tbh I didn’t mind this season, I kind of liked it because it accepted weird possibilities, but I wish the entire show would’ve been like this
I actually think there was already a subtle supernatural stuff in season 3. I am not talking about the gargoyle king but how the game kind of influenced the real events, especially in the episode where the characters had to free Archie from the prison while Jughead wrote a completely different "mission" for the game that went hand in hand with the real events the moment he started playing and narrating.
yeah somehow the balance was better this season, but now that it is all coming to an end, it dont mind the progression from the first season to now. it's better to keep being crazier in the concepts, than to start out crazy and having to top that all the time, which is still something the show tended to struggled with. i agree though, that the first season had such a satisfying finale, that it was quite frustrating that all the other seasons were so anticlimactic. it was so nice to see this season actually lead up to a climax instead of being like 'uh well actually, it was just the plot of jugheads new novel/comic that he wrote while high on a mushroom burger huhu' or something. i've been watching from season 1 as the episodes came out, and the reason i keep coming back is to see what bs they are doing this week, and if it had been on this level the entire time, it wouldnt give me that same source of guilty pleasure type entertainment. i dont think anyone could ever binge it front to back without pulling their eyes out after the show is done, but as it came out, it's been great. (sorry didnt mean to write an essay)
12:35 - The Riverdale residents not being able to leave town and no one outside of Riverdale knowing anything about the bullshit that has been going on is literally the mid-season 3 finale of Once Upon a Time, except on that show, there was a least a consistent progression to get to that point 😂
I tbh, think that they're stealing every plot point from other shows or at the very least throwing every popular genre they can fine. You could compare the larping board game thing to Stranger Things (although I don't remember that season that much so), the superhero stuff to Marvel which is pretty popular and honestly superheroes as a genre alone is pretty popular and the multiverse and then there's the time travel. Angels and demons kind of could come from Supernatural and now we've gone back in time and historical fiction shows are also very popular nowadays (i.e. The Queen's Gambit). I wouldn't be surprised if we went to regency era at some point. Although Riverdale show is ending and that might be too much for their budget (idk what the props or set looks like because I only watch the show from Alex's videos)
I gotta see you do Grimm, it fits right in with your usual stuff, but also has a very fresh premise (that is, other than superheroes, vampires, or high school)
When you said they brought in Sebrina Spellmen, I genuinely thought you were joking. Then I remembered this is Riverdale and they'll probably have Darth Vader as a final boss or something.

I would also like to know if there's anyone who actually understands the plot and can keep track of all the things happening. I like shows with crazy plots but this one just seems impossible to follow with the nonsense they keep adding in.
@@blueghost4769 I know, it's crazy. Obviously at this point the writers are simply throwing whatever at the plot, not even bothering to see if it'll stick or not. The way Cheryl said "What the hell is the ghost train?" felt less like the character and more like Madeleine Petsh being fed up with this stupid fucking show she's on. 🤭
@Frieza1500 Yeah I think they're all just there for the hefty paycheck at this point. They're adults with brains. There's no way they're not seeing that the show has lost its mind. They're just trying their best but I bet they laugh reading those scripts all the time. Like "wtf are we doing now?" 😂
@Frieza1500 Yeah well that's a separate problem. 🙃🤭
I swear, season 6 is just the writers pushing their complete contempt for anything remotely coherent in storytelling in your face for as hard as they can, and I respect it.
just surprised it took people six seasons to realize that this show is terrible season 1 was way better season 2 was f****** weird but it was okay I wasn't mad at it season 3 came along I was like this is f****** weird and I never went back since 😭😂
I can’t imagine actually sitting through this whole season. A 15 min video is almost too insane for me so a single 42 min episode might actually kill me
i did that somehow
Nah. I went through the whole season. I'm still fine. 😂
I watched half this season in one day, death is probably preferable
So true
How can anyone even watch a single episode of this garbage
This entire season was like one of those games you’ve played as a kid with your friends where you’d say you’ve got all these powers so you can’t be beaten. “You can’t beat me billy I’ve got super invincibility!” “Oh yea well I’ve got your weakness Paladium!” “You May have hurt Andy but I can read your mind!” “I can read your minds also! So now you’re dead!” “Not anymore billy cause I brought them back to life! So now saundra is going to time travel you to HE Double Hockey Stick!” “That’s not fair Cammy!”
Like a very very chaotic session of larping or dnd...or like you said, dumb kids in a playground.
@@PrettyGothBoi6085 kids in a playground is the best example writing wise.. i mean even a bad/crazy larp or dnd would still have something cohesive within it.
XDDDD
That’s a perfect description of this season
I think I’ve made this exact comment before. They’re really just throwing out everything they can think of to one-up each other lol thank god for Alex covering this show

@@xorderofchaosx I'm going to use this in the future.
Riverdale is synonymous with giving a giant middle finger to every rule and guideline for coherent storytelling in serialized TV shows. Doesn't make the show "brilliant" as it's more of a "You did it. You crazy son of a bitch, you did it" type of thing.
😭 i crack up
😂😂😂 They seriously have no idea what the hell they're doing and I truly believe this is the worst, most insanely written show (with good actors) I have ever, and will ever, see. It's so bad, but I keep watching it for some reason and yell at my TV... while making fun of everything and getting more and more angry at how stupid and strange it is.
Yeah, what you said could be applied to all of the other seasons, but season 6 was weirdly coherent
The magic and the other elements used aren't just thrown at us and we're supposed to accept it, it made sense and (unlike some other shows) they used timetravel and other dimensions in a very interesting and coherent way
Even the writing was weirdly good, it doesn't even look like the same show to be honest. How it makes you think like the town has changed it's name and the "everything changed" thing is just to show that all of the caracthers are different now but then suddenly Rivervale was actually a parallel universe to Riverdale and they must fix it, that was a really nice way of playing with your audience
Season 6 also fixed another big issue, they're not teens now FINALLY, so it makes sense that they can do all of they're doing, Betty is from teh FBI, Veronica now has age to open a business and all of that
And even if they're supposedly teens again next season, I guess the plot would be for them to go back to the future and not the "teens solving murder" thing from the past seasons
Of course I'm saying all of this guessing you watched the season, if not I would reccomend you to, just skip all of the others or se a review of them on youtube (you won't miss much)
Archie’s abs stoping the comet is probably the best plot.
Wait what- I don't watch Riverdale but is this actually a thing
@@nightappleispoisonapple1775The fact that this is even a reasonable question is insane

At this point, I haven't watched since season 3 and only keep up via this channel, but oh my god... It feels like an ongoing prank within Hollywood that is taken wayyy too far
I have to say, as hilariously awful as this show is, it gave us "Deliver the beanie unto me." Which I suspect is the first time that has ever been said, ever, anywhere.
A genius line no ever thought of before or possibly can’t be replicated 😂
I think Riverdale is try to rapidly copy what’s popular nowadays, but they can’t just forget about the original materials so we get this. Like a color-changing chameleon on steroids
Also though him saying “the real magic was the power of gay” just had me dying laughing
That line had me dying! Imo, it's right up there in the Riverdale dialogue Hall of Fame, alongside other classics like Jughead's "I'm weird" speech and Archie's line about "the epic highs and lows of high-school football".
The thing I love about Riverdale is that I can't predict it.
I watch way to much tv; movies, shows, you name it, so predicting what's happening is becoming a usual thing but with Riverdale this is impossible 😂 so I really enjoy watching it
it’s just insane how riverdale started as a normal high school drama, and now it’s a crazy witch craft and super power show
I think it would've made more sense if they introduced magic and Sabrina much earlier in the show.

It owes all of us compensation, and to humanity in general.
Think they owe the entire audience watching the show and Alex is making his making his money off these Riverdale video anyway.

That's what I thought, especially going through memories of trying to be a Walmart Eleven
Or make supernatural.2 with the angels and hell and stuff
So they tried to replicate Stranger Things ? In less than 5 months ?
Nah I think it started out as a normal high school teen drama- the first season had nothing like this. Then they saw the popularity of stranger things and marvel and all the many magical series there are on streaming services and completely changed tact
Was made before stranger things but could be possible
I re-watched this whole series of “riverdale is mess..” and I think it cured my depression!! No but seriously I laughed sooo hard and loved it and love ur whole channel! U R AMAZING KEEP UP THIS HILARIOUS WORK!! Just so u know u make me happy
What I’m most upset about is how they literally reversed all of Sabrina’s character development and ending for her entire show in less then like 2 minutes… she literally had nothing to do with this and the fact they felt they had to stick her in there was so unnecessary..
They should've brought in Prudence.
Bruh what? Greendale and riverdale are neighbouring towns in the same universe filled with madness. Cheryl and sabrina got ties together, she wanted to bring back life and sabrina is the best

@@camilagrijalva4109
It would have been easier for her to just hand wave it.

13:10 The look on Cheryl's face when Veronica is about to kiss her! It's like she's been waiting for this all of her life!

My wife watches this show and I had a blast watching random episodes of this season with zero context. How people just out of nowhere would state what their powers were was really funny.
Riverdale was so good and at some point people who write it were just like: "But what if we just start writing fanfictions from now?"
"what if we switched genres every season without laying proper context or coherent storytelling narratives to not make it too absurd? 🤔" - Riverdale writers probably
That's pretty much what the main writer wants. He wrote a play in high school where archie gets with an actual irl serial killer once.
Don't insult fan fictions like that, they at least have SOME care put into the plot.
I'm sorry, Alex, that you have to go through this. But please go through this so that we don't have to 😀👍
I remember how in the beginning of this season (or season 5, it all blurs together for me) it was nice to have the time jump to see them become adults but then it's like they forgot about it.

To be fair, Archie’s invulnerability was part of Cheryl’s power, so in a way his abs did stop a meteor.
Y'know, I'm guessing that Madelaine Petsch typically in press interviews is the only one who looks like they want to be there because her storylines are so completely batshit she can at least have more fun. Also the concept of doing a classic Archie comics season for their final season (as I understand it) is at least interesting.
I can no longer comprehend this level of pure ridiculousness
This show didn't just jump the shark, it jumped the entire Elasmobranchii fish subclass going all the way back 450 million years to when the first proto-shark appeared.
The actors are trying SO HARD with this script, its honestly commendable
Season 1: Murder of Jason Blossom
Season 6: Parallel universes colliding, superpowers, superheroes, witches, witchcraft, ghosts, time travel, mind control, angels, demons, Cheryl becoming
a Firestarter and the devil himself
How is show still going after 6 seasons? Who writes this? 12 year old? This makes no sense?
Actually, seeing as how this show should have ended when they graduated high school and it seems like Skeet Ulrich is the only one who understood this, them going into a direction like this for this past season makes all of the sense. But also? Why keep Polly resurrected, but not Jason?
My favorite thing about this season was how anytime they asked "hey do you think your power can do this?"
The characters are like "yeah probably"
I'm disappointed that there's no reaction to "Veronica that's queerbaiting" "That's not queerbaiting, it's saving the world". I haven't watched Riverdale since the first episode of season four but that line alone made me want to watch the newest episode just to hear it in action 😂😂

Tbh I didn’t mind this season, I kind of liked it because it accepted weird possibilities, but I wish the entire show would’ve been like this
i actually agree. they surrendered to the magic aspect and its more tolerable now
Yeah I agree
