@@Fjzins absolutely also it very much shows two things about the writers, 1) the writer are despite the lengthening the series and 2) the writer have no idea their own genre in the series. Riverdale is a murder mystery who is mainly about the real world, just from that it's pretty clear that trying to do a multiverse is literally impossible.
I'm now 100% convinced that the entire Riverdale series will end with the viewer finding out that Jughead has simply made every season up in his head as he's sitting in an asylum which is why it gets crazier and crazier with every season.

I stopped watching Riverdale in the middle of season 2 and have been watching the rest for the past few years purely from your videos and I was laying in bed thinking of how ridiculous that show has gotten then the notif of this video pops up and I just burst out laughing from the title alone.

At this point I think it’s like in ‘Alien: Resurrection’ when Ridley found the room with a whole bunch of clones like her. Only it’s the writer’s room filled with a bunch of failed clones of their one half decent writer begging anyone to kill them.
I don't know how the actors can say their lines without cracking up, the things they say are beyond ridiculous at this point. Rivervale is like the last ditch effort to make the whole series make sense, but it's just making things worse.
Just a fun fact to share, Tabitha Tate's actress is a Harvard graduate Kevin's is a Carnegie Melon graduate and Veronica and Jughead are NYU graduates. I find it hilarious that the dumbest show on television probably has some of the smartest, most educated actors at least on the CW. Source: the TV special where the actors guess stuff about their costars.
Erinn Westbrook (Tabitha) also went to a fancy prep school for middle and high school. Also she was a legacy. She was the tenth person in her family to go to Harvard. Which helps when applying to an Ivy league school. It's all who you know. Even though she would have to be quite smart to into Harvard. They only accept five percent of their applicants.

Cheryl's entire storyline in Rivervale did not make sense. Apparently, she's a witch like Sabrina, but also, she's a pagan that does human sacrafices, and I'm pretty sure, last time, Sabrina had to fight an entire circus of pagans who did human sacrafices.

Might just be me who finds this idea amusing. But what if for the mini series they got Dylan Sprouse to play the alternate Jughead? They do the "previously unknown family member" trope so often so imagine of they got Cole's actual twin to play the parallel suited, all knowing jughead for this to poke fun at that.
Riverdale has gotten ridiculous enough for my friend group to start a game where one of us watches a few episodes and then creates a set of fake plot points and mixes them with real ones just to see everyone else suffer.

Someone on tiktok did a summary on the whole Rivervale plot and everyone in the comments thought they were making it up when it was 100% true and if that's not peak comedy, I don't know what is.
And they wouldn't have needed to write fanfiction if they wanted to be weird. Archie has a whole cartoon series called Archie's Weird Mysteries that came out in 1999 where the characters had to battle against killer potatoes, evil genius rats, aliens, vampires, genies, giant bugs, sea monsters, etc. They could have just made Riverdale a live action Archie's Weird Mysteries.
I have to give Riverdale its props: It knows what it is and it does it well. This show is like if you took acid after reading doctor strange fanfiction and watching teen wolf. Every aspect of this miniseries was so perfectly insane it actually made the show incompetently competent

I was fully expecting to hate the AU but honestly I actually loved it. I think cause it was supernatural and weird rightfully instead of them trying to do the supernatural thing but linking it to the real world and having a normal explanation in the end that makes no sense.
My issue with the show isn’t even that it’s lost all sense of reality. It’s the fact that nothing ever has repercussions and the stories are half-assed. You wanna set up a cult and some new drug being peddled onto the streets, go ahead. But don’t then just end it and everyone acts as if it didn’t happen. These writers really just throw anything at the wall, write a couple of episodes and then repeat.
I'll level with you. As someone who has exclusively tried to keep track of the plot through your vids, this departed the realm of sanity a long... LONG time ago. This is just the bonus level.

If riverdale would of started the series with various tales (similar to weird mysteries) it would have worked. The teens of riverdale being plagued with mysterious & creepy endeavors each week is something folks wouldn’t have had an issue with. Season 6 was actually interesting. They should of gave us this formula earlier, Instead of putting in 18 plots in each season.

I was excited to hear that Sabrina was making an appearance on Riverdale because I thought maybe the writers were taking the show in the direction of the "Afterlife with Archie" series of the comics. In the series, Jughead's dog, Hot Dog, is accidentally killed and Jughead asks Sabrina to help bring him back. Sabrina does but there are terrible consequences and Hot Dog becomes a zombie and bites people in the town turning people into zombies. It would have been an interesting direction.
dude, I was saying that they should've done exactly this for a Halloween nightmare episode or a short amount of episodes, both examples showcasing how crazy the world of the show is, especially after that first plot twist in season 1. I was thinking that murder mysteries could be the base form, just one side of what Riverdale could be. Maybe each season could be a fantastical story based on the comic material, and having no relation with each other whatsoever, simply because it's a comic book-inspired world, where they never mention past crazy events in their books. (Season 1, basic yet shocking whodunnit, Season 2, starting with a Halloween-themed kickoff for the afterlife with Archie, an entire season 3 about the school musical instead of an annual musical maybe? season 4 could be about the split reality of who Archie finally decides to marry, Season 5, everyone questions the timeline and string of events which equals an existential crisis mystery with the comics, season 6 reveals Jug and Sabrina to have tampered with reality and storytelling through his writing and her spells.) that's my take
How are we living in a world where riverdale is actually a thing? Like, I see so many actually great shows being taken off netflix yet riverdale still has the green light? Do not give up on your dreams future writers.. if something like that can air, your works cant possibly be worse, no offense.

I was going to set some time to watch the second season but after my best friend (having also watched the series at that point) told me how batshit insane the show had gotten (i.e, Betty's striptease, the Serpents arc bit with Jughead) and I just never touched the series again after that. Erinn Westbrook (Tabitha) also went to a fancy prep school for middle and high school. Also she was a legacy. She was the tenth person in her family to go to Harvard. Which helps when applying to an Ivy league school. It's all who you know. Even though she would have to be quite smart to into Harvard. They only accept five percent of their applicants.

And they wouldn't have needed to write fanfiction if they wanted to be weird. Archie has a whole cartoon series called Archie's Weird Mysteries that came out in 1999 where the characters had to battle against killer potatoes, evil genius rats, aliens, vampires, genies, giant bugs, sea monsters, etc. They could have just made Riverdale a live action Archie's Weird Mysteries.
At this point, everyone should boycott Riverdale for the ACTORS' sake.

I liked the show until season 3. The writers have lost their minds. Not surprising that the writer changed seasons ago.
I was fully expecting to hate the AU but honestly I actually loved it. I think cause it was supernatural and weird rightfully instead of them trying to do the supernatural thing but linking it to the real world and having a normal explanation in the end that makes no sense.
Honestly, Alex is such a legend for still going through and commentating on Riverdale despite all the madness

My issue with the show isn’t even that it’s lost all sense of reality. It’s the fact that nothing ever has repercussions and the stories are half-assed.
You wanna set up a cult and some new drug being peddled onto the streets, go ahead. But don’t then just end it and everyone acts as if it didn’t happen.
These writers really just throw anything at the wall, write a couple of episodes and then repeat.
I'll level with you. As someone who has exclusively tried to keep track of the plot through your vids, this departed the realm of sanity a long... LONG time ago.

Yes, that was the whole point, they're paying homage to shows like twilight zone, welcome to night vale etc. How well they did it is up to personal opinion but it's not like the writers are pretending to have invented this genre of storytelling lol

If riverdale would of started the series with various tales (similar to weird mysteries) it would have worked. The teens of riverdale being plagued with mysterious & creepy endeavors each week is something folks wouldn’t have had an issue with. Season 6 was actually interesting.
They should of gave us this formula earlier, Instead of putting in 18 plots in each season.

Archie’s car coming alive because of the haunted dice, Veronica growing 50 feet tall, killer potatoes coming turning everyone into zombies. With the beautiful cinematography of riverdales creators that would of been a great show. And great adaptation.

I didn't think they wouldn't make Sabrina show up in the most convoluted way possible but the CW has proved me wrong
I was excited to hear that Sabrina was making an appearance on Riverdale because I thought maybe the writers were taking the show in the direction of the "Afterlife with Archie" series of the comics. In the series, Jughead's dog, Hot Dog, is accidentally killed and Jughead asks Sabrina to help bring him back. Sabrina does but there are terrible consequences and Hot Dog becomes a zombie and bites people in the town turning people into zombies. It would have been an interesting direction.

dude, I was saying that they should've done exactly this for a Halloween nightmare episode or a short amount of episodes, both examples showcasing how crazy the world of the show is, especially after that first plot twist in season 1. I was thinking that murder mysteries could be the base form, just one side of what Riverdale could be. Maybe each season could be a fantastical story based on the comic material, and having no relation with each other whatsoever, simply because it's a comic book-inspired world, where they never mention past crazy events in their books. (Season 1, basic yet shocking whodunnit, Season 2, starting with a Halloween-themed kickoff for the afterlife with Archie, an entire season 3 about the school musical instead of an annual musical maybe? season 4 could be about the split reality of who Archie finally decides to marry, Season 5, everyone questions the timeline and string of events which equals an existential crisis mystery with the comics, season 6 reveals Jug and Sabrina to have tampered with reality and storytelling through his writing and her spells.) that's my take
I read the comics. It would be a great spin off or mid season to put oh HBO Max.

Lemme tell you, I actually stopped watching after Season 1, believe it or not. I was going to set some time to watch the second season but after my best friend (having also watched the series at that point) told me how batshit insane the show had gotten (i.e, Betty's striptease, the Serpents arc bit with Jughead) and I just never touched the series again after that.
Most of the craziness I know about this show now is from your videos, like seriously your commentary is fucking gold, thank you for sacrificing your sanity :_D

Gotta love that all the monsters they pulled out for like one or two episodes would have been great season long concepts
