The reservoir for powering steering oil is supposed to have a built in filter inside. The whole reservoir must be changed after 100,000 miles?. Let us know if you cut open the old reservoir and there is metal shaving inside.

150000 miles and this is the first problem you're either extremely lucky or you just about it got the same car same color same year same mileage roughly men rebuilding it a piece at a time since about 100000 nothing major just couple hundred dollars worth of Parts every other week or so good luck my friend they are fun nice little cars but they are pesky

@@dieuhienle6251 very simple i am not a mechanic , but the job took me about 1 hour , jack the car up put on jack stands , remove belly plate and covers ( difficult if you alone the plate is heavy) pressure test the cooling system i tested to only 15 bar and the water was leaking bad from the back , drain water from under radiator drain plug red screw , open up bottle while draining , locate the plastic fitting at the back , theres only 1 pipe on it from engine cooler side , loosen the clamp with a screwdriver or 7 socket with extensions , the pipe has to clips holding in place , the one clip in easy as its half circle , the other one clamps around the pipe , the easiest way is to slide it out in opposite directions ( thats how i did it )took less than 10 seconds , or you can try opening the clamp with a long screwdriver takes way longer , on the clamp is a plastic pin push the pin out and remove clamp you gonna put it on the new part after removed loosen the bolt with a e socket , or 12 corner 8 spanner , wiggle the part out , if broken use a small screwdriver to break plastic out , put grease over the o ring on new part so it can slide it easier , than put everything back together.fill up with water first run car for a while with heater full blast , switch off and pressure test no leaks , drain water amd refill fresh antifreeze. All done

I need to do this now. So glad I came across this comment it's going to help me. I'm really nervous to do all this myself but I don't have a choice. Using 2 litres of water every trip i make.
