  • I had to replace a coolant pipe, I was told this is a common problem part on the M271 engine my one was still the stock one and was cracking all over the place. The newer pipe is made of a better quality plastic that shouldnt crack as the old one does. It cost me R650.00 at Goldwagen it is not an OEM part.

    Thanks for posting the part number for the connector. Really helps when the young guns at Goldwagen insist they don't stock something. 😂😂😂

    If i may ask does the leaking of this pipe cause engine to overheat

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you will loose coolant and coolant pressure this could cause engine to overheat. Mine was a slow leak so not major issue just replaced it as soon as I realised where it was coming from so I didn't get overheating yet caught it early.

      Yusuf tell me must i disconnect the hose from the cooler bottel is needed or can i just replace the coolant hosing pipe

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope the bottle and the lower hose can remain the level must just be lower than the side plastic pipe. Then the whole job can be done. So its just a mission of emptying the bottle till the required level then replace that pipe and connectors then refill. If done right there's no need to even bleed, the system should bleed itself.

    I think a common problem for the M271 is the breathing hose on the other side of the engine. (its under the Kompressor)

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I heard about that and mine has a slight rough idle so I'm sure that is the problem I need to get to that asap.

      Hey there.. I'm not exactly sure what you mean the only pipes I can see are on the side then one goes accross the back between the back of the engine head and firewall that's rubber that one looks like a mission to replace I'm not even sure where it leads maybe the heater core Inside the car. Ok then that's the pipe attached to the plastic fitting.. it as a plastic clip over it then that clip goes into the plastic pipe that's screwed into the head the hose in question is the one coming out the bottom back of this pipe I replaced in this video. It's got to be one of those 2 pipes they must be coming from the heater core.

    Have one leaking on 05 c230 going to replace it and sell it, it's always something with it after high miles, mostly the electrical components fail.
    Car isn't worth the cost of the parts anymore, stay away from high mileage Mercedes they're money pits.
