I work at a Subaru Dealership and really enjoyed your review. The 2.5 L engine gives the Crosstrek a mice boast in power. Too bad your review unit didn't have the Plasma Yellow paint

This channel is a testament to the brilliance of what TH-cam offers. Incredible personality and humor wrapped into vehicle content that is traditionally serious and dull. A breath of fresh air.
I have always thought that the CrossTrek needs an STI version. It would have a turbo and a 6 speed. Then all the people who want a WRX hatchback would be happy again :-)
They actually made an STI Sport package in 2016. Sadly it was all cosmetic upgrades. I will say though I saw one in person in Hyper Blue. Looked amazing with the black wing and extra bits. If only it had a turbo to match.
Nobody would spend that on a Crosstrek. I have one, but it I was spending the $$ on an Sti package, it would be an Sti. What are you going to do with 8.7" of ground clearance and 300hp? Flip it over?

People really underestimate our subi’s off road.
Its has alot of tech ,independent suspension ,it never gets stuck ,great gas mileage, sporty look ,durable engine and that's why I'm purchasing one next weekend !! I cant wait .I just watched this vid to see Sarah 😍
CAUTION! You might be addicted to Sarah's videos. Not only they are funny and informative. She also gives honest and uncompromised reviews (when she tests cars) with her unique touch (it has me rolling whenever she disguises the expletives). And this video is no exception.
4:10 I'm always impressed at how you can look at something and come up with a reference about it, be it movie related (E.T in this case) or otherwise (like the HDMI exhaust tip). Once you point something like that out, I just can't stop seeing it! The added bonus is that it makes everyday boring tasks that much less boring when you see the "alternate" reality! 😜 Thank you for making life more fun!

I love my 2015 CrossTrek, never gotten stuck in mine, she always pulls through!

I just bought a Subaru Crosstrek Sport 3 weeks ago and I'm very happy so far. Granted, I'm upgrading from a total pos but after test driving 4 comparable vehicles I was more then impressed with how the Crosstrek Sport feels and handles.
If that came with gold wheels, a Turbo, a 6 speed transmission, and the better color blue I think it would be a slam dunk!!!
Gold Methods would be hot on this car.

Agree totally with you on the manual trans. I cant stand automatics. I've been told that especially with vehicles with more power the manufacturer prefers automatics so they can control shift points as you mentioned in this video, even in manual mode it shifts itself. I was told by a dealership mechanic by being automatic the manufacturer has lower warranty issues from....those of us that like to 'use' a vehicle to it's full potential. I'm 47 and have owned 1 automatic vehicle in my life. Replaced 0 transmissions and 0 clutches even though I run my vehicles to over 200k. Thanks again for the vid. Keep up the great work.

The exhaust tips are "hidden" just like an outback for ground clearance
I assumed this, but knowing very little about cars (for now), I am glad to hear somebody else confirm!
That and because GDI engines put soot on bumpers
They are on impreza sport too so its not about ground clearance.
@@thatfrenchcanadian5779 perhaps not JUST about ground clearance. Also I imagine the impreza might just be the odd one out where they designed it for the other models and it wouldn't have been worth it to redesign just for the impreza. Right?

damn right for people from the US, in Europe most people drive manual. :)
In the UK, having a driving licence for Automatic transmissions only is considered a sign that you failed the manual transmission driving test.
The 2018 2.0 offers a manual but the CVT not only gives you better fuel economy, it also is slightly quicker (0-60).
Who would have thought?

Cool review, Sarah. I really enjoyed the off-road portion of your review. You were able to get the rear wheels off the ground on two occasions. Nice work! Your reviews and factual and entertaining and that's what makes them so good. So I've learnt from a dealer that the reason for no manual options in the higher models is the eyesight system. Since it requires acceleration/braking intervention to prevent collisions, it wouldn't be able to disconnect a clutch's engagement in order to do an emergency stop. The engine would either continue to drive it forward or stall - both of which are not ideal.

Love the review. I owned my crosstrek since it came out. 2013. The XV. Crosstrek which subaru dropped the xv. Maybe a new one is in order, still love mine and its durability. 👍🆒️👍

I just bought a 2021 Crosstrek, same color, 2L with manual. I can rev it as high as I like, and it doesn't feel slow. Super fun and cute car.
I've got a 2019 plug-in hybrid and apparently it's still faster than the 2021 Crosstrek Sport. My guess is that it's due to the torque of the electric motors and granted it's only like 0.2s faster. In the end, it's a fantastic car and it's my 3rd Subie!

I liked the Baja too. It could haul 2 dirtbikes, and still haul passengers...INSIDE. It needed a little more tow capacity though, IMO. 3500lb would have been nice.

Ya nice to have ground clearance on that Crosstrek. Last weekend I misjudged a rock sticking out of the middle of a logging road and hit the front control arm on my 2015 Sportage going 20 mph. Talk about pucker-factor.

If I could make a recommendation on you going back and forth to get your camera, however as much as I like to see that. I would recommend a dji drone they have a follow me feature with 4K capabilities and you can set the range. Just a thought for you. I enjoy your vlogs a lot. Thanks for your hard work

A few years back I was driving a little 1.5 turbo diesel Dacia Duster on dirt roads in Iceland just after sunset around midnight. I felt like I had a lot of the road to myself. Never did much offroad driving until then but that little Dacia was a champ

Another fun review with Sarah. I love the Subaru XV (Crosstrek in the US). In my country Subaru doesn't exist since 2008 but last year I lived in Chile for 5 months and I saw a LOT of Subaru XV's there, they're very popular in Chile.
Very enjoyable and informative review.
The stick is on its way out for Subie, and that's a deal-breaker.
And sadly, it really won't affect their sales. We are a dying breed of driver.

Being a Subaru enthusiast I enjoyed your review. Although I enjoy all your reviews. I have heard that Subaru Does not offer a manual transmission on any vehicle that has the eyesight system because the integration is not practical with a manual transmission. I sure hope they figure it out. I agree with you on the gold wheels. They would look sweet on that !
I don't mind the unpainted plastic front bumpers. The people who buy Subarus probably appreciate not chipping their paint on gravel roads. I was looking forward to the bolstering test with you in that top. 🤤
