The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is Still A Crosstrek, Just A Slightly Better One | MotorWeek Road Test

  • You could look at the Crosstrek as Subaru's tough little do-it-all crossover, or simple as a beefed up Impreza hatchback. Regardless, the Crosstrek has been wildly successful. Well, an all-new Subaru Impreza has just hit the streets so it looks like it's time for us to get jacked up with an equally new Crosstrek! #Subaru #Crosstrek #SubaruCrosstrek

LOL! The 0-60 video looks like SLO-MO! Went down to look at the '24'Limited and was disappointed that the center console intrudes on my knee/ leg. Why do manufacturers not take into account for this? There was absolutely no reason for the console to be that far in, the transmission well was no where near there and if they took away 2 inches to accommodate people's leg it would have not made any difference to the storage area. BTW I’m only 5'8. UGH! 😕

This was at the top of our shopping list, until the '24 redesign that axed the manual transmission and replaced the HVAC controls with a touch screen. I don't mind tech, but that huge screen takes away all the interior personality. LOVE that it still has mostly analog gauges though!

Also for a safety conscious branding, the new Crosstrek has not improved braking distance, compared to my own previous gen 2020 Impreza. Yes, comparing two different cars but I would have thought that a new generation model would see improvements in braking, yet seems like they used the very similar setup from the previous gen.

Once this has a true hybrid version with better power and efficiency while maintaining a value price, this will be a knockout in the market!

It lacks power between gear shifts I’d say around 3rd or 4th , driving the outback and forester there’s staggering difference in smoothness one topping the other, this is a my-first-car, even till-it-breaks kind of car. its a pretty cramped as for practicality over torrential circumstances it is definitely above standard 👍 but not as smooth as you’d want it to be, it needs a turbo but can become a hazard if tuned too fast because of the ride hide-to-weight, to put it simply they made the safer choice.
