Thank you so much for this video! My 14 yr old VERY active son was diagnosed with a grade 1 spondy of L5-S1 and boy is it a headache!! He had to stop running or playing soccer, so he started lifting weights with his older brother at the gym... may have been good in some aspects, but he is certainly over-doing it some days and I worry that he could be causing more damage... Praying I can get him to "slow down" a bit and do some of these strengthening exercises. I worry about him having chronic pain as he ages.

I have the exact same situation right know; Im a really active 15 year old in high school. I did high level figure skating and horse back riding and its so hard to cope with, they wrongly diagnosed me with a broken vertebrae before this and I had to uselessly rest even longer because of that. The hard thing is nobody really knows what's going on with you even though I have chronic pain. Since this was a year ago; i'm hoping for him he has made some progress already?? Ive tried to incorporate exercising my ab and core work outs with these type of exercises, but it's hard to know when something makes it better or worse. I would love to hear an update!!

Hi, you're so very much informed, and I am certainly going to try these movements!
I happened to just got back from my orthopedic doctor for the first time in 9 years to see if my scoliosis had worsened.
Fortunately it remained the same and therefore didnt pass 30º degrees. (Woohoo!)
..What I did however learn was that I also have an Spondylose or Spondylylose going on at L5.
Could you perhaps share the brand /model of the lumbar brace you referred to?
I can't find it in your description box.
    Best wishes and bless you

Starting at 3:30 mark, when you say to press the lower back into the floor, isn’t that incorrect when training a neutral spine? Wouldn’t a neutral spine always have a natural curve in the lumbar even when raising knees, and and feet into the air? When working the core the way you describe here, isn’t that more working the superficial rectus abdominus instead of the more important anterior core such as the TVA, and internal obliques? Just trying to understand. Thanks so much in advance.

I basically have no disk left, I have had this for over 12 years from being slammed into a door jam by a horse. and its looking like fusion is in my future. Anteriorlisthesis L-5 & S-1 is unstable with, Thickening of ligamentum Flavin, degenerative joint with left pars defect from the impact. Nerve roots are now getting pinched if I do anything like lifting over 20+ pounds I begin to feel it and sciatica is ongoing right down to the middle of my left foot. I won't get injections as their is going to be more damage from that. I have done the exercises and my muscles are good on both. Its now affecting what I do. I can't run 50' with out getting hamstring pain that stops me in my tracks..

My MRI showed “grade 1 anterior spondylolisthesis of L4 on L5 leading to moderate to severe stenosis of bilateral neural foramina. There is evidence of bilateral spondylolysis of the pars interarticulares of L4. No significant central canal stenosis noted.” I get flare ups a bit of tingling on left foot when I do weightlifting and low back is never feeling “normal” and often hurts locally on the joint area (almost always). Sometimes I can’t bend forward during flare ups. How is weightlifting while using belt and trying to keep neutral spine?

Hi there thank you so much for your comment and I am sorry you are experiencing these symptoms. I cannot give medical advice without having assessed you because there are so many things to look at aside from your MRI result. I highly recommend you consult a medical professional before making any decisions and definitely ask them which exercises you should and should not be doing. They can help you set realistic goals that will keep you mobile and prevent further limitations. Hope this helps my friend

    • @whitepinehealthwellnesscen3907
      @whitepinehealthwellnesscen3907  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Cindy, tbh I love almost all of what they make. But you need to see which one best benefits you and the best person who can help you with that is either your physio chiro or even ur MD. They need to do an assessment on you to see which one would be better for you and tell you when and for how long to wear it. I hope this helps :)

    MRI L-S SPINE
    OBSERVATIONS:
Left postero-lateral herniation of L4-5 iv disc is causing compression over emerging nerve root on iet
side, and narrowing of the iv foramen on right side.
Postero-central protrusion of L5-S1 iv disc is causing narrowing of the adjacent spinal canal. This iv
disc is reduced in height hypointense on T2W images, indicating disc desiccation.
Lumbar vertebrae are normal in height and reveal normal bone marrow signal intensity on pulse
    sequences.
No marrow edema is seen on T2WFS images.
There is no evidence of diskitis.
Conus medullaris is normal in morphology and signal intensity on all pulse sequences. CS
No pre or paravertebral soft tissue abnormality is seen.
On T2WFS images prominent bilateral sacroiliitis is seen.
    IMPRESSION: MRI study reveals:
-Left postero-lateral herniation of L4-5 iv disc, causing compression over emerging nerve root on left
side, and narrowing of the iv foramen on right side.
-Postero-central protrusion of L5-S1 iv disc is causing narrowing of the adjacent spinal canal
    - Prominent bilateral sacroiliitis.
