FINALLY!!! I found someone who gives hope to my Spondylothesis crisis. Thank you for your truth that this is possibly curable without surgery. You make it understandable that it takes the efforts of the individual to do the work in healing.

I believe that applying his techniques will be helpful. Are you doing good so far? ?
I just enrolled in the free week class but after seeing this video I am very hopeful. I am beyond a grade 2 and have upcoming orthopedic and neurology appointments as the Dr thinks I have gone too long in pain and should consider the surgery. Been working on core exercises thru PT but still have pain, so I will add this to my last ditch effort.

      @@wandaspears3872 Hello ,
For the past 10+ years I was diagnosed with bilateral PARS fractures at L5 level that lead to spondylolisthesis of L5 over S1 as a result medium to severe level of stenosis has occurred. I also have really hard time standing for more than 5 minutes. My both legs are really weak and I have numbness, pain, burning on the plantar side of feet 24/7. Too add, both heels are always painful.
I saw a Neurosurgeon and this was my 2nd visit. We reviewed new MRI images together. I am planning to have a L5-S1 fusion surgery but I am very nervous.

Your vlogs are fabulous. Education is an art, and YOU are an artist! I was a lung health educator for three decades--COPD, asthma, CHF, sleep--the last fifteen years focused primarily on sleep. I had the good experience of working for a physician who was highly focused on how the diseases we dealt with were interrelated. Back pain has a lot to do with sleep quality, and we likely mistreat sleep apnea when we do not pay attention to back health. Anecdotally, I spent six years assessing CPAP non-compliant patients and found that when we focused on rectifying back pain and neurological problems in the extremities (among that demographic of CPAP failures), we were often able to reduce CPAP pressures. You are rounding out my understanding significantly, not to mention that I am starting to employ your techniques for my own lower back issues. Thank you.

Thank you so much for these videos. You are the first person who has explained to me that spondy is an instability with loose ligaments. Three doctors, a PT, and a chiropractor - not one has explained it like this, let alone offered any possible help. My question is this: Does having both types of spondy complicate things toward healing and strengthening as you described in this video and in part 1? I have, as quoted from my x-ray results, "Anterolisthesis of L4 and L5 measuring 3 mm, unchanged on flexion and extension. Retrolisthesis of L5 on S1 measuring 2 mm, unchanged on flexion and extension." I also have other structural damage in the lumbar and cervical (including spondy) spine.

I was told it can be due to fracture and wear of the parts of the vertebrae sticking out the back too. It wasn’t explained like that but essentially that’s what they meant. Then ligaments get stretched and become loose.

Hi, Great video. I have a couple of questions. I know you say gymnastics and specifically backbends can cause spondylosis. I'm wondering if a training like the guy Lee Weiland does could make things worse for someone with spondylosis, or even contribute to it. I'm going to put the title of a specific video on youtube here, by Lee, in case you have the time to see it. To me it seems like he is saying the exercises he does might improve the spine, and I'm wondering your opinion. The name of the videos is "The 7 Most Underestimated Moves For POWERFUL Movement". Thank you in advance for any thoughts.

I have had grade 2 spondylolisthesis for over 15 years now due to a pars articularis fracture on the L5 - got it from a combination of handball and gymnastics. I have managed it over the year with a combination of stretches and core exercises. However, I recently got into running, and although was fine for a couple of months, now I'm waking up with tingling feet and soreness in my lower back. I really didn't want to give up running. I have considered spinal fusion, so I can keep doing sports, but I am worried about the invasiveness of the procedure. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks :)

Hey doctor thank you for the amazing explanation. Im a male 21 years old and I've recently diagnosed with spondylolisthesis grade 1 on my L5-S1. I'm so sad and I feel like my future just collapsed in front of my eyes 😢, all of those plan I have been preparing for I feel like my spondy going to hold me down. And since diagnosed, in january, i still feel it until today, in may. I have a question :
    1. you said that you've been living pain free after strengthening your core, does that mean you don't feel it at all, or do you still feel it (even tho it's not a 'pain') at least once a day or couple times in a week?
    2. How long does it take to that point ? Like after how many weeks/months of doing core strengthening you can comfortably do things normally/didnt feel the pain?
    3. Can you still active ? As in playing sports like badminton, or maybe jogging
Thanks in advance I hope this message reach you

What if your spondy has slipped backwards

    • @CoreBalance
      @CoreBalance  ปีที่แล้ว

Hi there, thank you for your comment! The condition where a vertebra has slipped backward is called retrolisthesis. Movement retraining, combined with increased intra-abdominal pressure, can be beneficial by providing enhanced support to the spine.
The deep core muscles play a crucial role in stabilizing the spine and promoting better overall posture. Strengthening these muscles contributes to increased support, potentially alleviating stress on the affected vertebrae. Specifically, strengthening the deep core helps individuals with retrolisthesis maintain a more neutral spine alignment. This, in turn, reduces excessive forward or backward curvature that could worsen the condition.
In our program, we focus on teaching a specific breathing technique in the first week to enhance intra-abdominal pressure. This pressure, generated by engaging core muscles, further contributes to spinal stability. The increased stability helps control movement and prevents excessive motion in the affected area, which is crucial for managing retrolisthesis.
Feel free to ask if you have any other questions or would like more information! Thank you for watching!
