Kira for sure his mall-lin-call-lee attitude and he handsome lol he now zombie robot man but do love his view on how they are like assassin so it's just a job but he don't need to love. Do enjoy his shikai and how it works for beheading his opponent.
Kira is easily one of my favorite lieutenants. His Zanpakuto ability and Zanpakuto spirit are so cool. The third division is one I'd think to find myself in.
I think it's great that he and Rose have developed a casual yet therapeutic friendship with Yoruichi, in the process becoming the top three Shinigami to actually question the status quo as well as all the lies about their world. No doubt Yoruichi's rebellious streak allowed them to open up a bit.

Yoruichi is a full time instructor at the academy, Shunsui asked her to do it because many instructors were killed in the war and the alternative presented to her was going back to her old post which she absolutely wants nothing to do with anymore.

It's not surprising that she refused to be involved in command and the politics of both the the Stealth Force and her noble family, she was never clearly comfortable with her roles and would happily take a more passive occupation. Who can blame her?

If we do get more of the Hell arc, I would love if Kira and Matsumoto had a confrontation with Gin, maybe try and get some closure for the both of them.
Gin? No Momo need to have a talk with her perpetrator, Aizen. If she does this it would tell us she has grown outside of that stockholm insanity and has helaed and moved on. Izuru can accompany her since he was also part of that horror. (Plus I also ship them together
You forgot/ignored the anime only Amagai arc which focused on Kira and the 3rd division quite a lot. Amagai becomes captain, the other guy becomes 3rd seat and both of them betray Gotei 13. I think that arc is quite important for Kira since he gains some confidence and some respect from the 3rd division members.
He's made statements multiple times. He's manga first. Anime... He doesn't really address it, it's like comparing the book to the movie. Book is always better.
I wouldn't say that the arc is important for Kira as a character, since it's not canon and doesn't effect his growth or role in Kubo's story, but it would be important for maybe understanding the character's popularity.
Kira is weirdly enough one of my favorite character. Really wish we would have been able to see some character development for him in the TSBW, going beyond his grief about his former captain. If only he could have got a moment to shine in the war, even seing a bankai from him like hisagi in the novel. But oh well no love for the vice captain as always in bleach
Actually, he does receive something more - he is at Captain level upon resurrection. To bring Kira back to life, Mayuri basically patches his soul back together with the souls of all the thousands of other dead shinigami into him. Kira is the embodiment of the despair that was inflicted during the war and has the strength of those thousands of shinigami into one. It's received in the light novel, 13 Blades.
@@nobleactual7693 I imagine that would dishonor the deaths and sacrifices in the war - and Kira would also lose the power that came from an amalgamation of all those souls inside him. If Orihime rejects that, he would lose all of that. Of course, this is just me justifying that I honestly love that design and him being the literal embodiment of Soul Society's despair now.
Same! I thought the fake Karakura Town gave time for the Lieutenant to shine and rightfully so, they did great! I was content with what we got TYBW would be extra for me.
The third division is home to two of my top five characters, Gin and Izuru. I love everything about them. From their character design to their zanpakuto.
i also like how the previous seated officers of the 3rd division are implemented back when mayuri mends there souls back into Kira, making his return much more badass when facing lille.
He doesn’t feel like he’s strong enough to ever reach bankai. But then again I would’ve bet my last dollar against Tetsuzaemon becoming a captain so what do I know.
Great video as always! I found a fan translation of one of the (currently Japan only) light novels years ago that had a moment with Kira that still stands out to me. He thinks to himself that he initially thought Rose was annoying because he'd play his instruments at all hours of the day and Kira couldn't concentrate. He basically viewed Rose's music as "noise" but eventually got used to it and now finds it comforting. It's such a funny and endearing moment and i hate how this never made it to the actual manga.
I like that Third Division inherited from Gin duplicity - on the one side bright and artistic, other dark and depressed, remains me of painting Stańczyk by Jan Matejko.
Kira’s one of my absolute favorite characters in this series. Really looking forwards to hearing you talk about his character arc, I think it’s a really well handled story about how broken abuse can leave a person
Hands down my favorite squad three character is Shusuke Amagai (despite him not being canon.) His Zanpokuto is my favorite in the series and his personality was a refreshing and welcome change. I loved how he is literally the only Captain to think "Hey, you know what, we should work together with the other squads and teach group tactics." I would love to see a video on filler characters sometime. Shusuke is my forth favorite character in the series if you couldn't tell. Otherwise another wonderful video. I can't wait to see the other divisions.
I want Kira to achieve Bankai, and I want it to be where he controls gravity for his targeted opponent. Perhaps Wabisuke pulls opponents in like a black hole, they fall toward a blade that has even more of a noose/gallows feel than its shikai form.
Late to the party, but I love this idea. Maybe like a giant guillotine that has black hole like properties, eventually dropping his opponent to their knees, like his shikai, before just absolutely obliterating them swinging down
I like when Ichigo breaks in and meets Gin. I think Gin says something like "You're the one". Then he has a half hearted fight and that's when I sort of have a different feeling about it him. This came after multiple vewings though.
Cant really say its fun given that it happened off screen. We see them hype each other then after an odd transition, kira's shown to be defeated cause yeah :/
@@SemekiIzuio My favorite “normal” scenes are the ones involving Rangiku and Isane. Their personalities are opposite and they play off eachother well. There’s this one after credit scene where Rangiku and Isane are shopping and then they dump all their bags in Ichigo’s room for storage.
absolutely love these videos. I wish I could join the discord! I'm a huge fan of the vizards despite their disappointing story arcs so Rose is definitely my favorite member of Squad 3. I think Izuru had a lot on his shoulders in the absence of a captain. Thankfully it doesn't seem to have lasted very long but I could only imagine the stress he'd have been under.
Kira's my favorite character from the 3rd Division. I really like his Zanpakuto. It's quite unique. I also liked his speech to Avirama about war. It's an interesting viewpoint and it gives some insight into the philosophy of the 3rd Division, as well.
I was disappointed that they basically killed off Rose and Izuru in the beginning of The final arc which really pissed me off cause Izuru is my fav LT and I like his shikai most out of the LTs. I hope we get to see these guys fight in the final season. I do wonder what happened to Iba’s mom after Rose left due to becoming a Vizards. I think that Gin really regretted what he did to Izuru and believed all this time that the sacrifices are worth the end result which it may have been to a point but some people go in so deep that they lose themselves and stop caring about who it hurts but of course inside deep down are the blocked feelings of extreme regret. Izuru I think loved Momo which was why he was so shocked after Momo got stabbed. I loved seeing more of squad 3 in the filler arc and learning more about Gin and his division.
My favorite member of the third division is gin ichimaru I just really love his character design and his snake in the grass character archetype. I like Kira a lot to specifically I like is shikai wabisuke’s ability.
I think the only clue we have about how Kira and Rose get along is an omake from either the anime or the manga, if I'm not mistaken? But I can't seem to find it so who knows. But I seem to remember it showing a contrast between how well Hinamori was doing with Shinji while Kira struggles (in a funny non serious way) with Rose.
I do keep forgetting about this one, probably cause I always associate Gin as just not a part of a squad cause he's next with aizen majority of his screentime, Rose is very very much a side character (not that he's bad or lame or anything) and Kira both is memorable to me but always in the back of my head lol
The melancholic aura they espouse sure is a take on PTSD based on what Gotei 13 does and given the losses they sustain. Still it's great that Rose and Kira have befriended Yoruichi discussing the awful truths of their world and even the history of music with all agreeing that tunes from the human world dominate, while music from Soul Society is mostly shallow and made to pander to the aristocracy. What a therapeutic friendship they've developed.
I am also a big fan of the 3rd Division. Gin and Kira are two of the most interesting characters in the series (imo) and Shinso and Wabisuke are two of my favorite Zanpakuto. Kira's new design in the Hell Arc looks really great and it was really cool seeing him using Wabisuke differently (on himself) to crush the Hell beast. I do also like Rose and agree that I wish we had gotten more time with his character and to see him interact with Izuru though. If Gin is in Hell, it would be really cool to see Kira (and Matsumoto) have the chance to confront the person that has affected their lives the most in seemingly both positive and negative ways. Otherwise I really like the feel of the Squad. Some people may say the 3rd is "edgy", but I find their philosophy about war being ugly and that it shouldn't be enjoyed and by being brutal instead of more forgiving that it is meant to dissuade others from thinking that battle is glamorous is a very interesting outlook and really explains why there's a bit of a depressive feel to many of the members since they don't take pleasure in killing, but won't hesitate to do it when necessary. I think there are some similarities in their philosophy to the 9th Division under Tōsen and upheld by Hisagi to some degree, while still remaining distinct enough. Overall, one of the more fascinating Divisions and certainly one that I would like to see more of.
I really wish that we got to see izuru's bankai. His shikai is one of my favorites and since bankai is an amped up version of the shikai it probably would've been insane.

Squad 3 is apparently information and intelligence. You notice they're are two type of shinagami. Souls who ages slowly. And humans who ages once the become soul reaper according to their power level.
I used to think lieutenant Kira was a boring character. But after his fight in the fake karakura town arc I have a lot more respect for him. His zanpakuto is cool and I wish we could see what his bankai might be like

Kubo giving all those Shinigami names before brutally slaughtering them makes me believe it when Gege Akutami names Bleach as one of his big inspirations for JuJutsu Kaisen because the latter does the same thing all the time.
I don't know if it is relevant but in the outro of the last episode of bleach there is a scene where izuru somehow complains about rose, seeing him as unfit in a typical comedic way.
Would have loved to see what Izuru Kiras Bankai could have been. I imagine Kubo probably had at least an idea for most of the more prominent characters while deciding who would recieve one

Controversial opinion : gin and rangiku whole thing was weird to me , I honestly would have preferred gin to be a full sadistic bastard that didn’t give a damn about nobody but himself and have rangiku have a relationship with somebody else like the vizard Kensei .

They come off underrated just because of the 1000 year blood war. I always thought gin was top 3 to the original captains excluding Yamato. He was always one of my favorites.
Wait, third division captain retired? Hasn't Urahara stated in the Turn back the pendulum arc that you can't retire from Gotei 13 but will be "taken care off"? That captain should be arrested in the Maggots Nest like that shinigami Hiyore knew was or something similiar.
It's sad to see that so early on in the divisions we are already running out of purposes for them to be responsible for. Each division should have a tangible role in soul society. Even if uts just guarding the gates, monitoring the outer areas or anything
I think kubo went overboard and made way too many divisions, too much for him to possibly focus on. But it seems to be a running theme with him, look at the vandenreich

I wish we got to see more of Ichimaru and his fighting ability. Decent lookin character with limited usage is my bigger gripes wit bleach.

I absolutely adore the philosophy/aesthetic of the third division! Rose and Kira are among my favorite Bleach characters. Gin is also great!

It just gives everyone chronic depression so they just loose the will to fight or if the opponent have any form of guilt in them it weights them down.
It weighs down the molecules in the atmosphere, negating the formation of oxygen in the air. Filling it's AOE with nitrogen gas.

I really wish that we got to see izuru's bankai. His shikai is one of my favorites and since bankai is an amped up version of the shikai it probably would've been insane.

I have always loved Kiras Shikia! If he had the speed of one of the captains and could land more consistent body shots he would be really strong?!
I used to think lieutenant Kira was a boring character. But after his fight in the fake karakura town arc I have a lot more respect for him. His zanpakuto is cool and I wish we could see what his bankai might be like

Kubo giving all those Shinigami names before brutally slaughtering them makes me believe it when Gege Akutami names Bleach as one of his big inspirations for JuJutsu Kaisen because the latter does the same thing all the time.

I don't know if it is relevant but in the outro of the last episode of bleach there is a scene where izuru somehow complains about rose, seeing him as unfit in a typical comedic way.
Would have loved to see what Izuru Kiras Bankai could have been. I imagine Kubo probably had at least an idea for most of the more prominent characters while deciding who would recieve one
Izuru was one such character that, if I'm remembering correctly, he actually said he had an idea for his Bankai already.

Controversial opinion : gin and rangiku whole thing was weird to me , I honestly would have preferred gin to be a full sadistic bastard that didn’t give a damn about nobody but himself and have rangiku have a relationship with somebody else like the vizard Kensei .
No disrespect but Gin having a relationship with Rangiku and precedes to act like he doesn’t care about her matches with the 3rd Divisions themes of despair and theatrics

They come off underrated just because of the 1000 year blood war. I always thought gin was top 3 to the original captains excluding Yamato. He was always one of my favorites.

Wait, third division captain retired? Hasn't Urahara stated in the Turn back the pendulum arc that you can't retire from Gotei 13 but will be "taken care off"? That captain should be arrested in the Maggots Nest like that shinigami Hiyore knew was or something similiar.
It's sad to see that so early on in the divisions we are already running out of purposes for them to be responsible for. Each division should have a tangible role in soul society. Even if uts just guarding the gates, monitoring the outer areas or anything
I think kubo went overboard and made way too many divisions, too much for him to possibly focus on. But it seems to be a running theme with him, look at the vandenreich
